@bambaikababu2 - This was recorded from the audience at a concert in 1977. I personally don't think he's out of tune... the quality of the recording is not the greatest, but I believe it's the only live version of this song out there.

@tanweermian Thanks Tanveermian. Rafi sahab was a great singer and also a nice man. But towards the end of his career knowledgeable people say he sang out of tunes many times. With the emergence of Kishore Kumar Rafi sahab's star went down and as Naushad sahab said Rafi sahab probably became nervous being the gentle man he was, and went out of tune many times.

yeh Mera Prem Patra is my favourite song . Kishore Kumar ji may be the greatest singer ever but Rafi sahab was also great

I don't think he meant it literally. We are all lovers of Rafi Saheb's music. Rafi Saheb was blessed with this voice, given to him by God. He was a very pious person, having performed Hajj 9 times, and was laid to rest on the last Friday of Ramadan. There's no doubt he was close to God.  His nature, his humility, his actions...we all need to learn from him.
