Messi is the best in the world, but Xavi and Iniesta are different players to Messi and I don't think you can compare them like for like. Even though all 3 players at times rotate their respective positions in Barca's field of play, I think Messi relies more on Xavi on his success than does Xavi rely on Messi. The evidence being that Spain has won the European Cup and World Cap with Xavi and Iniesta while Messi usually struggles playing for Argentina

Offcourse Xavi is one of a kind, but the best in the world? hmm. Maybe there isn't "a best player in the world". Just a top 10 with players who all poses different amazing qualities coming with different playing styles and offcourse different positions in the field. Looking at Barcelona's statistics of last season. Messi was involved in half of the goals they scored, so assists or he made them himself. Even Iniesta is better than Xavi..The most credits for the 2010 mundial glory go to him. He put two goals, gave 1 assist and of course his 2nd goal gave Spain its only world cup in their history. Impossible to say Xavi is the best. There's been around......3 brilliant midfielders who're all tied best in my eyes: Scholes, Xavi & Zidane. Scholes had probably the best finishing of the lot, and he's the best long range passer of all time [60/70 yrd passes pinpoint. Zidane was probably most talented.2 perfect feet, could do just about everything. Xavi is THE genius of finding space. Never looks rushed. Amazing vision. Best teamplayer of the 3.

Offcourse Xavi is one of a kind, but the best in the world? hmm. Maybe there isn't "a best player in the world". Just a top 10 with players who all poses different amazing qualities coming with different playing styles and offcourse different positions in the field. Looking at Barcelona's statistics of last season. Messi was involved in half of the goals they scored, so assists or he made them himself.
