  • Great Film... I saw him many time late at night over the years when I walked around the silverlake reservoir. I'm so sad that he is gone. I will miss him...

  • Hi Chris --

Sad stuff. This is Ray Greene--I produced the Veritas Project which this was made for. is there a way to get in touch with Lauren? I'd like to extend my condolences, and catch up. Best, Ray (aka R. H.) Greene

  • i sow him for years because i walk too in that area i never said him hello but i will miss him

  • I thought of you Marc on wednesday, the day you passed... I signed your name as my primary physician on a form that day... you were heavy on my mind... I will never delete your number from my cell, and I pray your soul is rested... You were a gracious man, and I thought you were handsome... You had a great smile and we would always wave at each other... I still do not believe that they closed your case... But, then.... Maybe, there will be a book and we can all learn, how wonderful you were...

  • Something will be missing in our neighborhood, definitely he was an icon in THE SILVER LAKE AREA.

  • 3hrs sleep - i want to hear about that! he sounds amazing! anyway, he added to the neighborhood in many ways. if we all could add...RIP

  • He inspired me. Wish I could have at least said hello. RIP.

  • I'm glad you had the forethought and spark of interest to document this wonderful gentleman. What an interesting life to be out in Nature every single day of his life. Soaking up sunlight and breathing, living and experiencing everything around him. Not being a coach patato or slave to electronic appliances. Yes he would be on his cell phone from time to time but for the most part reading. Whoever spoke to him was lucy. He lived more in 58 years than most of us will in 80 or 90+! RIP Marc.

  • Doc... you will be missed.

  • Turns out he was under investigation for dealing oxycontin to addicts. So much for the great mythic figure of the Walking Man.

  • @RayBanG15 - actually, for me it's getting interesting and mythological right about now. Not sure why people necessarily go 'cuddly' about recurring but anonymous visitors to the background of one's life. He added flavour to the neighborhood, but there was a pathological aspect. Silver Lake: the pill hills.

Al Pacino as Walking Man in the HBO depiction.

  • How did he die? Did anyone know his name or talk to him?

  • hill be ok< R.I.P, now hill walking on heaven:)

  • Thank you for capturing the walking man! The should be historically preserved.

  • Great to learn a bit about the mystery man you always saw walking around. Thanks for posting this video!

  • What a wonderful film! It captures the essence of not only The Walking Man, but our fabulous, unique and eclectic neighborhood of Silver Lake! Love it! Those of us who have lived her for many years (30 for me!) and saw him every day will think of him every time we walk!

  • RIP. thanks lauren for the amazing film. i remember sitting at brunch with you one morning waiting for him to walk by so you could film him...

  • ***RIP Dr. Abrams***

  • This is extremely well done. It is a joy to view and really captures Silverlake.

Unfortunately, I would not have discovered this small gem but for the shocking and sudden death of The Walking Doctor. RIP

  • "where do you draw the line between something that's interesting and amusing and something that's pathological'

  • What a wonderful eulogy. Sweet little movie! He unintentionally connected all Silverlakians. WIP.

  • Great Film! R.I.P. I'll miss seeing him, thanks for posting this...

  • One fine film.

  • So Glad to see him one more time!

  • this is so awesome. he was my doctor and i miss him more than words can describe....r.i.p. dr. walker :)

  • his memorial is a block from my house by the Local H resturant... flowers are thier

  • rip dude, you went for it

  • RIP

  • RIP Walking Man. I can't believe he died. He was like the Energizer Bunny, he never stopped. I wonder if that's the pool he was found in. Maybe his heart finally gave out. Poor guy.

  • He was my Mom's cousin's husband. I met him breifly in 1998 during a visit to California. I knew he was a walker, but wow, he took it to the extreme!

  • aah, this got me emotiaonal at "he must have a Silver Lake angel protecting him" Rest in Peace walking dude.

  • What a wonderful tribute to so treasured a community icon. Rest in peace, Marc Abrams. You should've had many more miles to go before you slept, but you touched a lot of people around here.

  • RIP
