Buy a PWC isn't all about power. If you want performance you need to look at power to weight ratio. A long time ago I had a GP1300R and I used to blow away my mates RXP215 as he was heavier than I and the Seadoo was about 50kg heavier. In a straight line it was fairly even but in the twisty stuff the GPR ate the Seadoo for breakfast.
Rxtx 260rs. Kawi 300x. which is faster 0-100kmh? I read all the hype about having 300hp but does that figure really mean anything and doesnt the seadoo have a better power to weight ratio? correct me if im wrong im not all that familiar with the 300x...
Hey I'm 15 years old and am looking into buying a jet ski. My dad has a 38 foot formula fastech high performance boat. (we live along the Hudson river) and I am looking for a jetski to follow him on. I need some reccomendations. Preferably $5000 or under. And a 2005 or newer. Thanks
@pbkid254 i recommend a Kawasaki STX15F its 1500cc gets great gas milage very fast as well i hit 60mph on mine with 2 people. it is not supercharged but has plenty of power and handles great. I do alot of surf riding on mine and it is great for jumping waves very agile if you wanna get a little gnarly. You can get a nice used one around 2008 for about 5 grand but it is worth every penny! hoped this helped!
@pbkid254 : Buy a used RXT 215 Supercharged unit if you can find one for less than $5,000. Its by far the most nimble, agile, speedy unit available. I own a 2008 RXT and a 2008 Ultra 250X..... I really wished I had purchased two RXT's rather than one of each. I even paid more for the hyped up Ultra and I'm ver disappointed in the decision. Good luck with your purchase.
Hi guys im looking at a new kawasaki 300x and seadoo rxt-x ive never had a ski before its my first is the 300x agood ski and does it produce the 300 hp that kawasaki are claiming people have told me that seadoo have problems with engines but are a great handling ski ..........not sure what to do would really appreciate any feed back? Is any other ski worth looking at
@80Munson well i dnt no anything about the 300x bt 2 of my friends have the rxt and they have been having alot of electrical problems which has let them stranded out on the water. i have a yamaha fzr which is about the 5th runner ive had in my life and it has never let me down i would consider it to be very reliable you should try lookin into it
I raced one of these with my SHO with a riva racing stage 1 kit in Clear Lake TX and it didn't keep up as much as I thought, and no I don't have any internal add on's to the SHO just outside add on's. But over all it looked pretty cool and ran great. I like both too. No disrespect to either brand.
seadoo are releasing a new rxp next year with this years gtx hull and a new 4-cylinder engine and they are aiming for 2.0/2.5s to 50 so if fully done they should get about 350hp out of the engine, 260/3 = 86.66 3 cylinder so i guess the 4 cylinder would be around 4x86 = 344, who knows should be intense :)
But yet the Yami SHO's still beat it (except ocean racing) and uses @7-gallons less per hour at wot..Keep raising hp & price still behind Seadoo & Yamaha..disappointed with their innovation. Nice colors though.
To answer you question the word around our social ride group is that the ultra 300 is an amazing machine. From past experience the 260 kwaka is more potent than the rxt-x for starters the supercharger is a real supercharger and the 4cyl is more noticable in response and sound. All the top end ski's are great and have their own advantage. We all have the same interest in a great sport but as far as power the ultra 300 would have the yamaha and the sea doo. I am saving for one once the price drops
Hi Guys I have an 08 RXT-X it is a great ski it gives me loads of fun with the VTS I can launch it from the water from standing start or by giving it full noise at 30kmph.
We can adjust the pitch and it allows us to have a decent enough wake to board on up at the dam. My wife and I love our ski but we have also driven the ultra hull in choppy water as we island hop and I can assure you that they are a much better hull in rougher water. All depending on what you do for what ski you want!!!

So what does this thing gps to?
WWoodyW 9 months ago
@WWoodyW go to Lake Powell without GPS and you'll learn quickly what it's for.

@bazzaretta I don't understand what you're talking about. I'm inquiring about the jetski's top speed. I have a honda 12x myself.

it IS slower than a yamaha FZR or a seadoo RXT-X 255. As Kimi said "300HP means noting" not to mention that its totally ugly too

put that bitch in a 2 seater and you got a rocket ;)

On the plus side, its great for bringing your groceries back from the markets!!!
kimi1978 11 months ago
Good job. You took all Yamahas great ideas and still created a ski slower than the 210 HP FX SHO. 300 HP means nothing!!!!!
kimi1978 11 months ago
@kimi1978 How do you know it's slower ?
How quick is the 210 HP FX SHO ?
