  • I love the harmonic shift when he sings 'Just a glance, down here on Magic Street'

Fantastic song - I hope he sings it on this summer's tour.

  • perchè una canzone così bella ha così poche visualizzazioni? è davvero un peccato

  • I so agree this song should have millions of views, one of my favs off of this cd.

  • The song deserved much sexier video.

  • @bluesuederocker this is not bruce springsteens channel...

  • Bruce, please reply. I have some questions musician to musician. Thanks! Bluesuede

  • Beyond words, but here goes! You can feel it, but you can't describe it. It speaks to us without a sense of time or place. I feel the warm coastal breeze 'thou I live in the landlocked part of The Long Star State. I'm reminded of my deep, abiding love of women & briefly I'm ageless. That, my friends, is the very definition of art. Long live art. Long live Bruce & his equally genius musical family! Bluesuede

  • Brings back the best memories :')

  • absolutely brilliant!

  • How has this got 10 dislikes?? Amazing song... hope he plays it when I see him in Sunderland (UK) next summer!

  • Great song ! I always wondered if Bruce wanted to pretend he was Brian Wilson when he did this song .. .. It clearly shows versatility on his part

  • @Beatlesrfab no, he wanted to pretend he was Stephin Merritt.

  • @lofi2 Who is Stephin Meritt ? Thanks for the info BTW !

    Hail the BOSS! Respect!

  • 2:18 - 2:19; is that Patti? ♥

  • @JohnZackarias i'm well aware of the lyrics. music, and the way it makes you feel, what it evokes, is in the art of the songs. sheez, maybe i've had it all wrong for the last 40+ years making my living in the music industry. Besides, if you were to look at my comment, if you "read the words" it says , TO ME, this song is... that indicates.. NOT you or anybody else, and it was a 'positive comment'. Grow up a little more and go apply to Rolling Stone magazine, they might give ya a shot.

  • to me, this song is a celebration of the essence of 'woman'. imagination that's not lusting, but appreciative. good song.

  • @tomcaat1 Read the lyrics. It's a song about a broken heart.

  • bruce, what do you mean, you know we'd never 'pass you by' !!! try keeping us away...

  • Who looks better; Bruce or Brad Pitt?

  • My initial reaction is holy ****, Bruce is a badass.

second reaction- damn this is a good song :D

  • love this song, so heart warming.. thanks Bruce, and thanks for posting!

  • My friend did a side-by-side comparison/mash-up of the two songs, making (what i see as) the similarity a little easier to hear. It's a YouTube video called "B&L&R" by TheJonahLuck.

  • @salzatorlansing I heard some similiraties but imo not so much to call it plagiarism...

  • @salzatorlansing I heard some similiraties but imo not so much to call it plagiarism...

  • @alyoucha....i realize the subjectivity of my statement (and this is from the same person who can't hear the similarity between the "ghostbusters" theme and "i want a new drug," which was proven to be a plagiarism in court). however, try listening to the L&R song again from 2:59. i know little about music, but it seems like the two songs have the same chord progression. and no, i'm not trying to get more hits for the other song. :) but i agree, this is a pretty awesome song.

  • This song sounds A LOT like "In My Mind" by Love & Rockets. I'm not accusing him of plagiarizing, but, well, listen for yourself.

  • @salzatorlansing I did, and it doesn't. In fact, what on earth are you talking about? Are you just trying to get more hits for that song for some reason? :-)

  • There's such an underlying (but powerful) epic vibe in this song, like in other recent songs like "Working on a dream" or "Waiting for a sunny day". Love it :)

  • Just wonderful.

  • This song should have 10,000,000 views hands down. This is real music.

  • @CreatingExcellence It should have received the Grammy for song of the year, but was ignored, as was the entire, brilliant, "Magic," album.

I think the problem is: 1) he's been around too long to be "cool"; 2) the quality of his music is so high that he's competing with himself and not contemporaries.

When you've been writing songs, making records, and performing live, at an unmatched level of excellence for 40 years, Bruce Springsteen's genius, his greatness. are taken for granted.

  • @CPSJSMSUUMUGA I'm with you on most of it, but unmatched? I think Bob Dylan matches and surpassed Bruce easily, despite his ups and downs.

  • @yianpap We can agree to disagree about songwriting. They are both great. The best. I'll call it a tie if you like.

But live, on stage, performing, in concert? Have you ever seen Bruce Springsteen perform? I have seen at least two shows on every tour, beginning with Darkness in 1978, & most recently, 5 on the Dream tour.

I've also seen the Rolling Stones 4 times, first in 1969, the Who, the Clash, the Doors, U2, McCartney, etc. and so on.

    And Dylan.

    Yes, Bruce is unmatched. Absolutely.

  • @CreatingExcellence VERY TRUE...REMINDS ME OF MY EX-FINACEE'...A WATER GIRL ...VERY SWEET BUT TOO MANY PROBLEMS COMING FROM A BROKEN FAMILY AND 2 KIDS FROM 2 DIFFERENT MEN....MYSELF, COMPLETELY THE OPPOSITE....I STILL LOVE HER EVEN THOUGH SHE GAVE ME GREY HAIR!

THEY CAN BE BITCHES....BUT I STILL LOVE WOMEN, JUST MORE WARY NOW HAHA...

  • At Verizon Center in DC; different since every time he sings he changes something.First half of the song only the keyboard and Bruce singing. His voice clear, crisp, unwavering filled the hall. A perfect example for my son of the voice as an instrument. Just remembering it years later still shivers me. A glorious five minutes. Heaven can't be any better, really.

  • Good and lovely music.

  • You rock....

  • I grew up listening to Bruce, and yet every single time I get the chills. He never fails to create wonder. :) :)

  • Love 'Magic'!

  • Down here on "Magic Street" .........The Boss is always magic!

  • One of his best if not his BEST

  • wonderful song luv the bruce :)

  • who can send me some girl clothes

  • Ah, thanks Bruce!

  • Dana, a few weeks back Clarence Clemons, the sax player for Bruce's band died. His nickname was "The Big Man", well, because he was a large fellow. Hope that helps.

  • RIP Big Man.

  • why is it that want to cry when i see this video / hear this music. The boss is 61 now .. still a rock god that much is true. But what happens when he goes. We will have no more heroes.

  • Bruce Is Greatest Singer Person To Live.

  • 0:47 dont blink

  • I wish i could go back in time. not for the trivieal things, but to see Bruce live, because i fear i may never see him in my life.

  • Radiohead is better

  • @KleWdSide

come on....RH was popular since 90s but sprongsteen`s in the 70s~80s!

  • @KleWdSide Radiohead are not fit to be mentioned on one of Springsteen's video's comments. You should maybe post on their video's instead.

  • @redjohn201 And Jack Johnson is better, too.

  • @KleWdSide Yeah because millions of people know who he is...

  • There are very few writers who can paint a picture like The Boss.

  • Song to detox my brain from trying to listen to Rebecca Black.

  • The Boss, 62 years old and looking as good as ever. But in his eyes you can see that he is even older than that because of his experiences. Sounding great and this is a real heart-warming song. His videos are artful and the lyrics inspired. What more can we ask from an enduring artist who battles through the age of autotune and synthesisers and keeps on giving us this kind of magic?

  • @Ollie3E Never a truer word spoken, sir.

  • A MUCH, MUCH underated song...

  • Great Song! Love the Jersey Shore!

  • This is so great song.I started to listening the Boss when I was 11 (3 years ago),I started because my dad was listening to him all the time,I didn't knew english well so it was hard to understand lyrics. Now I'm very thankfull to my dad because he showed me what is the real music,I'm thankfull to my mum too but for other stuffs, she's got different music taste from dad and me.

  • @duhaast1: 1)there won't b enaf "piss" taken at "beaver" 2)voice ??? ;do u like music or noise 3)who f... cares IF he get"pussy" (thats how u apreciate somebody??) 4)bcause he has money that doesnt meen that he's better than u or me. My point is that "beaver" is a singer made by media ,but springsteen is sent by god(dont compare them) (check SWAMPskate's comment; it's true)

  • why does everyone take the piss outta justin bieber.. hes got a good voice. hes rich. successful and most likely gets more pussy than any of us. he looks like a faggot and i hate his music, but still hes doing better than me.

  • @julianppp I don't think anyone could argue with that statement. You are totally correct on that one.

  • This song is actually so Beautiful. Bruce Springsteen is gifted.

  • A young Patti at 2:19 ?

  • @Tipsie79

It looks like it, a young Patti.

  • @MegaAldoN

If you mean Patti Smith, then I don't agree, doesn't look anything like a young Patti Smith. One of my favorite Bruce Songs!

  • I just LOOOVE THIS SONG!!! it reminds me on all beautiful summer nights of my youth!!!! LOVE YOU BOSS!!!!!!

  • The bridge in this song begins at 1:58 and is simply brilliant.

  • The verse: "She went away/She cut me like a knife/Had a beautiful thing/Maybe you just saved my life," always manages to break my heart just a bit. This is a jewel.

  • This is one of my top3 Bruce songs. It won grammy for best rock song in 2009. Also nominated for best vocal performance. I dont get why this song didnt got more hype.. Its like drug for the ears! I fell for it right away :) No kidding, I have heard this song 10.000 times, and still going.

  • @Bruuutal1 No doubt! I fell for it right away, too! I think this is definitely one of his best!

  • I've always loved most of Bruce's songs. I love the 'Nebraska' album and 'Devils and Dust' and this is one song that is great. He is such a story teller, has a huge capacity for imagination and simply a huge brain capacity to put it bluntly!

  • His songs all give me that feeling that I'm missing something I loved very much, but I'm also happy it happened.

Thumbs up if you know what i mean!

  • Get the audio from this video at tubepull doht cohm.

  • ripped off the magnetic fields

  • "Hello beautiful thing, maybe you could save my life."

    I love this line :')

  • I think Bruce Springsteen should buy Stephin Merritt a pony.

  • Really, really good song! About the "never again.." I like this album. Bruce,You are unique!

  • Very amazing song from "Magic". Although Magic was not a very impressive album (except for "Radio Nowhere, Last to Die and Girls in Their Summer Clothes), it was indeed a great album to showcase a newer side to The Boss and also listen to him bring the "Hungry Heart" Sound back to his songs.

  • I want to talk about Bruce as a poet. In many ways he is the poet of our country. He is so much a part of us, and his appeal transcends generations. His songs concern the problems of all of us. One of his great messages is that if their is injustice in this country, we are all diminished. Another is the celebration of life and all its joys and losses. Which of course are necessary: if nothing was to be lost, nothing would be precious. We are very very lucky he is ours.

  • @lebarosky

I'm confused. Why does this only apply to America, just because he's American? In general everyone goes through the same things.

  • @XiaoPow : Of course you are right. I suppose we can claim him because the little details of his songs come from the small things that make up our daily lives. For example, in "Thunder Road" he sings, "there were ghost in the eyes of all the boys you sent away: they haunt this dusty beach roads in the skeleton frames of burned-out Chevrolets." It's an image that creates a specific picture, and that picture is American. In "Cadillac Ranch" he uses a particular kind of 70s car to mean death.
