I need a tablet Pc also for reading and writing notes on scientific articles. Can I do with the Lifebook T901 the same tricks you showed with the Asus Slate 121: zooming with two fingers, converting handwritten notes in letters? Thanks
@oztabletpc for a college student who is required to get a convertible tablet pc which brand and model would you reccomend? is fujitsu better than hp?
@tacticalking161 Mostly I buy them! But we sell Tablet PCs, so we usually purchase them for demonstrating to customers. Occasionally a company will loan us a unit to evaluate and review. The T900 is mine though, and I am using it now....
@mrblack747 Wow, Mr Black, that is like comparing a Ferrari to a Volkswagen Beetle, and asserting that the Beetle is better because the Ferrari's wheels are too wide.
The Asus is an interesting little convertible, but it would be hard pressed to replace a laptop with it's Intel Atom processor. The T900 on the other hand has an Intel Core i7. In other words it has around 50 times the processing power. No comparison really.
I currently have an HP pavilion tx2500, and my main issues with it are its speed, noise, and heat emissions. How does the fujitsu t900 fare with noise and heat?
@bossmonkeykj I haven't found it to be a problem, but I am not particularly sensitive to it. It does have a powerful Intel Core i5 or i7 processor meaning that it does need to be cooled.
Is the 13 inch the largest tablet PC with a pressure sensitive stylus? When I google that question, I sometimes see mention of a 14" model, but can not find what the heck they are talking about!
I'm hoping you might know, what is the largest tablet PC, with a pressure sensitive stylus?
@Checker222 Yes, there used to be a Toshiba 14" tablet a few years ago. Think there might have been another, maybe a Gateway too. These days Tablets are considered a highly mobile device, so screen sizes are usually 10" or 12". This is the biggest one currently on the market. Personally I use a 12" tablet, but I hook it up to a dock in the office with two 24" screens, so I have the best of both worlds.
when the screen is folder flat in tablet mode does windows have to be used in portrait or can the orientation be changed to landscape, ie the i pad will rotate orientation according to how you hold it, so does the t900 have this option?
@mattkingston08 You can rotate the screen using the buttons along the front edge of the screen. Not sure it the T900 has auto-rotate as many other tablets do, but it is really annoying anyway and I would personally turn it off..
I really don't get why they don't put graphic cards in these tablet PC's, pretty much all multimedia artists would buy them then, and thats a huge market.
im seriously considering getting one of these but i have a few questions:
what sort of graphics card does it have? all the research ive done so far seems to suggest its integrated not dedicated, is this true? i hope its dedicated as a lot of that power would go to waste without the graphics power to back it up : S
also is this thing pressure sensetive? i want to be using it mostly for drawing on photoshop/painter/sketchbook so just wondering if the pressure sensetivity is good or not
i do design so im really looking for a tablet, but i also need a new laptop so i wanna kill two birds... dont really have the money for each so is there something you could reccomend that is really good at the tablet side (with pressure sensetivity of course) but also really good on the performance/graphics department as i do a lot of high end rendering
i really hope such a thing exists and if anyone knows itd be you guys!!
@robotocha242 Unfortunately the only Wacom pen based TabletPC with a dedicated graphics card -The HP TouchSmart Tm2 - is not currently available in Australia. Not sure if it would do the job anyway realistically. Rendering is a demanding job for any laptop, let alone an ultra mobile one.... Sorry l can't help at the moment. Someone will come up with a product to cater for designers like you one day!
@robotocha242 Well, no graphics cards or rendering power on an iPad too... You might want to wait for a HP Slate 500 type device as an iPad alternative. It will be reasonably priced but with a pressure sensitive pen.
@robotocha242 I'm having one sent out from the US now. No word from HP locally yet, but given delays on delivery in the US I would not expect it until early next year in Australia.
@TheJacobiphone12405 The two are comparible in weight, but not much else. The T900 is targeted at business users. Has a much higher end processor, longer warranty, larger screen, better quality. It's also in a higher price range.
@phalluses It depends on lots of things... For me it's the T900 as I don't really go for the Lenovo thinkpad design... I also like the bigger screen. But if you need something more portable, then the Lenovo X201t or the HP 2740P might be good.
Ultimately the tablet that goes the most places with me is the Motion Computing J3500...

How good is the writing with pen? I need one where I can write a lot of mathematics equation and is very exactly

@Sergio124 Wacom is by far the best pen system available. Windows 7 also has the math input panel for that purpose too.

@tacticalking161 No, it's no thicker than any other laptop. Read below for more info...

@oztabletpc that being said, would you reccomend this laptop?
tacticalking161 9 months ago
@tacticalking161 The new Fujitsu T901 is an absolute recommend!
oztabletpc 9 months ago
this model is way too thick compare with ASUS T101mt, and this price is over $2000... that's way too much...

@robotocha242 It has Intel HD on board graphics. Not designed for high end 3D graphics but it will do fine for 2D.
The digitizer is made by Wacom and is pressure sensitive.
