  • Both Neal and Slash are great...... fans are fighting ....... but the two of them don't...they like each other ..... just like a guitar family of mortals lol!!!

  • did neil hand slash his ass or what

  • @catman953 I see it the other way around. but hey, I like rock and roll.

  • umm just wish eric johnson had have been on this stage... may have taught you all a thing or two about real guitar legends ;/

  • Great tune...love Paul's voice! Thanks!

  • WTF epic stick trick at 5:14 :D:D:D:D

  • Slash and Neal are great. But Neal tops Slash.

  • YEEAAAahhhh Neal Schon!!! Hey Neal...grow out that 70s fro again dude!!!!

  • I used to listen to Journey when I was a kid. I have a live Journey DVD and while Neal Schon is very melodic he wanks over alot of the songs ...and to me it comes off like a flurry of diarrhea. I respect every opinion cuz everyone is entitled to one. There are just other players I would much rather listen to Clapton, Beck, Page, Kossoff...u hear me? And nowhere in any of my posts did I say Slash was a better guitar player but what GNR did for Rock is undeniably way bigger than what Journey did

  • @mrtwitchylizard your comment was diarrhea

  • @WickedHamBurglar Thank you...was I supposed to be offended by this?? Probably the most pathetic comeback I've ever read. If I wanted cum back I wouldve got it off of your mom's lips

  • @mrtwitchylizard And so now you are 15 years old? Keep on truckin', brother.

  • @WickedHamBurglar Nope, I just fight fire with fire..If you're gonna say something immature and not clever to me, I'm gonna do the same "your comment is diarrhea" is something that a 15 year old wouldn't think about saying, so it seems like you should "get on my level", "check yourself before you wreck yourself", and most of all "keep on truckin', brother".

  • @mrtwitchylizard whoa buddy, go on and simmer down, now

  • sometimes a person needs to remove their head from their ass and face the facts...as much as I enjoy Slash as a player...Neal Schon is a guitar legend that smokes slash in any guitar category you can come up with...feel, melody, technique, rythym, soloing, shredding, the ability to write a song, blah blah blah...there is nothing that Slash can play that Neal can't...Slash however cannot say the same...Neal Schon can play any musical style in any musical setting, and has done so for over 40 years

  • yea you like britney spears too, admit it

  • Compared to todays standards of music, yes, Journey is better, but as for rock bands go they are soft, really fuckin soft. And I can stop ranting, its just that everyone takes offense to what I said and has to put their 2 cents in...Im just being respectful and replying back. If you dont wanna hear from me again...DONT FUCKIN REPLY, its that simple

  • Wow icon is a STRONG word to use. John Lennon, Johnny Cash, and Freddie Mercury are all icons. Neal Schon? Really? If hes such a fuckin icon then walk down the street and ask a common individual who Neal Schon is. Then ask them who Slash is. More will know who Slash is than Neal Schon.

  • @mrtwitchylizard Dude, if you knew anything about playing a Guitar, then you would know, putting who was in what band and what sort of music they played aside, that Slash can't hold a candle to Neal Schon. Pure and Simple!!

  • @jerseydude100 Hey DOOOODE! If you read any of my fuckin posts before I never said he wasnt better than Slash. I just stated that Journey was a piss poor excuse for a rock band. He may be a better guitar player but as far as being known...cmon man, nobody knows who the fuck Neal Schon is. BTW I do play guitar, ive played for 7 years, so go fist yourself and stay in Jersey!

  • @mrtwitchylizard Well, wouldn't you say that Slash is unknown compared to the likes of Lady Gaga and Bieber? A well known name does not = superior artist or greater talent. It bothers me how you can't stop ranting about the inferiority of Journey. Seriously grow up. You have every right to dislike their style but you reveal your idiocy when you claim their illegitimacy as a rock band. I dislike jazz, but you don't see me bashing it. Journey is not the "piss poor" band to be bashing nowadays.

  • @koza821 Or maybe its because Slash and GNR brought back real rock music while Neal was playing cheesy love ballads in Journey!! Neal has speed, he is melodic, but he also hasnt made a guitar riff that has stood the test of time. All Journey was was a sappy piano luvy duvy band that had no balls whatsoever!

  • @mrtwitchylizard That's not the dumbest thing I've ever read...but it was close.

  • @ksmithdc How do you figure that?? All Journey did was make slow piano love ballads to make it big as a so-called rock band! They may have a couple songs you could call rock, but they are still sappy and queer. Just because Neal shreds super fast doesnt make him a fuckin god! If that were true, the fags in Dragonforce would be huge by now. Im not a Slash fanatic but he did WAYYYY more for guitar than Neal. Hes influenced more players and he has had actual rock songs that made it big...Not Neal

  • @mrtwitchylizard Dude, Neal's career dates back to 1969 - when he was recruited to play with Santana at the age of 16. Eric Clapton tried to lure him away to play in his band, but he was committed. When Journey started in the early 1970's, they were more of a progressive rock band than an AOR (Album Oriented Rock) band they became when Steve Perry joined in the late 70's. Neal is one of the most respected guitarists in the history of rock - and has sold what...100 million albums?

  • @mrtwitchylizard Journey could play hard rock, soft rock, bluesy stuff, ballads, power rockers...all driven by catchy hooks, cool grooves and Neal's awesome guitar playing. He can shred with the best of them (See: Dio's "We Are Stars" video - where the who's who of guitar gods showed up and Neal smoked ALL of them). But he keeps his chops on a short leash because he plays for the song, not to appeal to guitarists. He plays soaring melodic passages - and then melts your face off.

  • @ksmithdc And how many records did Journey put out?????? About 3x as many as GNR! And THEY have sold over 100 million copies! And if I do recall GNR could play all of those genres as well...I know that he played with Santana when he was a teen, but he was also overshadowed by the better guitar player in that band Carlos Santana...It wasnt called The Neal Schon band. He is not known for the material he did with Santana, he is better known for playing with Journey.

  • @mrtwitchylizard You're right, it wasn't the Neal Schon band. Neal didn't put out solo albums until after his other projects had sold a hundred million dollars, and everyone from Eddie Van Halen to Steve Lukather to Santana to Jeff Beck were singing his praises. Technique wise, melodic wise, song wise....Neal Schon is beyond guitar god status, he's a fucking icon. Even Slash wouldn't be saying the moronic shit you're spewing. Face it man, you lost this one.

  • @mrtwitchylizard Listen to songs from their first three albums, like "In My Lonely Feeling/Conversations" and "Topaz" from Journey and "Anyway" from Look Into The Future. Those aren't sappy piano ballads. Neal shows off what he can really do on Journey's early albums. He was playing with legends at their prime like Santana and Eric Clapton while Slash was getting pottytrained, and Neal is only 10 years older than Slash. That says something.

  • @mrtwitchylizard As for not having any guitar riffs that have stood the test of time ...

look up a little song called "Anyway You Want It".

I'm pretty sure almost anyone you will meet will know that, and they'll say they like it too. :)

And as for Neal being fast but sloppy ... have you even listened to any of his solos? Obviously not if you just made that remark.

  • @auroraman56 also I'm guessing the guitar w/ vocal ending for Faithfully is something he missed too ... easily one of the most recognized guitar licks from the 80s.

  • @koza821 Or maybe its because Slash and GNR brought back real rock music while Neal was playing cheesy love ballads in Journey!! Neal has speed but its sloppy, he is melodic but he also hasnt made a guitar riff that has stood the test of time. All Journey was was a sappy piano luvy duvy band that had no balls whatsoever!

  • Slash's guitar playing style is so undeniably unique. You can pick a Slash solo out of a group. Neal was amazing, Slash was amazing, and Paul Rodgers, as always is the mf'ing MAN.

  • all this talk about slash getting owned...i mean please, they play different parts of the song. and they have different styles.

On what basis can you say that Neal is better?

  • Everyone played great. Neal and Slash are two very different players and we're all the better for their great talents. Paul, damn wow great vocals.

  • Paul Rodgers.....Might be the best 60 something singer on the planet!

  • where's mick ralphs???

  • @pclinn Where is Mick Ronson? Best rock guitar player that ever lived.

  • @notlazy99

i loved ronson's work too. i was referring to the bad co concert footage. did ralphs go get a pepsi off-stage and thats why he wasn't shown? was he even there?

  • Dudes I can understand the anonymity of a rock star that was over blown, but dudes, to give Slash credit he did play solid rhythm.

  • what does it mater who's better? some players are about technique, some are about feel. Slash is one of the last category. Nobody (including himself) has ever claimed Slash being the best guitar player there is. Well except for some random people who have no knowledge about music.

  • @WatchYourAttitude Ok...theres one thing that I dislike about your comment.... Slash has never claimed that he is the best guitar player.... Maybe you need to get your fuckin' facts straight.... Oh one more thing Slash, is so much fuckin' better feel wise and technique wise. It doesn't take a genius to figure that one out.

  • @Slash9048 hey shut up! I love Slash. he's a great guitar player. one of my favorites. I was only telling the truth. if that hurts too much you'd better just leave.

  • @WatchYourAttitude Well, I just hope that you don't enjoy Neal's playing.....

  • @WatchYourAttitude Well, I just hope that you don't enjoy Neal's playing..... Oh, if you hadn't noticed.... I was sticking up for Slash....

  • > Slash, is so much fuckin' better feel wise and technique wise.

    *facepalm*

  • @ReductioAdAbsurdum lol lol u don't know shit,......He was touring with Carlos @ the age 16

  • @Johnnieroxker "He was touring with Carlos @ the age 16"

NEAL was. That was my point, Captain Reading Comprehension.

  • @ReductioAdAbsurdum well see if u can get this FO ASSHOLE

  • How nice to Slash outdone by someone truly better than him :) It doesn't happen often

  • Paul, Neil, Simon, and Slash, A True Guitar Dream Team for real!!! Awesome!!

  • neal burns...slash SUX

  • Who is the guy playing the black Les Paul?

  • Paul

    Simon

    Slash

    Neal

4 future Rock N Roll Hall of Famer's. Nothing is better than this.

  • fuckin great perfomance , rock n roll all the way man

slash n neal are great... fuck sweeping...but as long as they put their souls into the playin, thats what matters and they did..no one was better..they both played fuckin well

  • I always Paul Rogers was one of the most underrated voices in all of rock and roll. His voice has such a soulfulness.

  • @1danrobbins i totally agree, i hear him with queen twice and he is amazing a true legend.

  • Neal said, hey Slash, you do the head movement and I'll play :)

  • A guitar lovers dream. Sometimes when listening to Journey I forget how great Neal is on the guitar. But all these guys are in a class by themselves.

  • Neal shot Slash with the Velvet Revolver! HA!

  • its filmed like a music video ahahha

  • Class is dimissed....The teacher, Mr. Schon says to the student young Slash.

  • both slash and neal kick's ass, now shut up and enjoy the video!

  • Brill version - I like both the solos though, im not picky about music i like. Nor am i a Neal Schon or Slash fanboy. Just damn nice playing.

  • Nice to see Slash get owned

  • Judging by how sloppy you play in your videos, do you REALLY think you should be talking? I don't think you should.

  • Mate i recorded those when i was 18 ..... i fully accept the sweeping and tapping ones are shite however slash cant do either of those neway !!

  • @JimmyMoorby The difference is though Slash doesn't need to, unlike the technique on display in your videos Slash can follow & play around a chord progression..

Pretty much the number one failing of most wannabe players on the tube is that they are just a collection of techniques & licks learned from instructional DVD's most of them have no idea about how to actually play with a song or write a song..

People don't pay to see sweep arpeggios they pay to hear music.

  • Furthermore on the video descriptions i describe them as being shit, I keep them on so i can look back on how i played when i was a kid. Youre just pissed coz slash is just a cunt who has got back coz he wears a daft hat and plays out of tune in the dessert in music vids

  • @freaknbigpanda Hahaha!! JimmyMoorby pwned on his own playing! :D

  • Gun's N Roses > Bad Company

  • I also prefer Guns N Roses to bad company, is that meant to be a dig?

  • unfortunately, guns n roses will forever be destroyed by the ego of you know who.

  • HAHA!! I was just thinking that!

  • @JimmyMoorby lol he did not ...

  • @JimmyMoorby Music ain't competition.. Jesus christ!

  • @JimmyMoorby He didn't get owned though.

  • @robertsja9999 Yeah. He did.

  • @ksmithdc No he didn't, both epic solo's.

  • when was this?

  • what sticky trick did slash do? at 2:18

  • neal schon is the best ever; slash is the worst

  • wow, would loved to have been there!

  • NEAL SHON!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Neal FTW!

  • Mr. Neal Schon

  • I think neal doesnt get enough respect. he should be at leats at the top ten with santana hendrix and slash

  • I saw Paul Rodgers and Neal Schon together in the 90`s play together. What an incredible show opening for Cheap Trick.....

  • Yes Neal is! And Rogers on vocals,On Hell of a jam! Wish I would of seen this One! Schon On To Infinty............

  • Neal solo-ed the pants of Slash

  • Neal is amazing.

  • neal schon is my favorite guitarist of all time. the way he can handle any is just incredible

  • slash is d best!

  • Or not................he sucks.

  • no he is not.

  • Badass singer!!

  • what year is this? Neal doesn't look like Neal..hehe

  • i noticed that...I never see him with a beard lol

  • Best singer ever!

  • In 1995, Paul played in Bucharest! He played for more than 2 hours without a single mistake! When he played this song too and the concert venue exploded from the first notes! HIS VOICE WAS BETTER THAN IN HIS YOUNGER DAYS !!!!! EXCELENT PAUL! MY RESPECTS! Marcian(from Romania - Europe) - blues harp player ! check my band - TRENUL DE NOAPTE(The Night Train)
