Fantastic song! This band is awesome. I love the Beatles (gods of songwriting) but the Hollies capture my heart always! AMAZING mix of harmonies with perfect Tony Hicks guitar playing (one of the bests), unique Bobby Elliot drummer and the best singer ever Mr. Allan Clarke with his superb voice, interpretation and stage presence with so much charm. Love The Hollies.

I've just started listening to The Hollies, and I can't get bored of their music. I listened to The Beatles before, and I don't want to compare them. I agree with mababaki's comment- Tony Hicks IS the best!!! I really like the music from the '60s, and in few days I'll be 13. Also, Allan has a great voice, better than any other singers of that time!

I''ve mentioned this in here before; I've seen this band live in the sixties, and Allan Clarke was in a class of his own. Step aside, Beatles, this was a far better band, better muscicians, better vocals.

This comparing bands to the point of criticizing one is idiotic. Allan can't sing like John Lennon could, or do ballads like Paul McCartney. I say this as a Hollies and Allan Clarke fan.

If you added a top-notch lead vocalist onto the Beatles in addition to what they already had, what would that have sounded like? The Beatles never had a fair shake when it came to live music. As if the Beatles need someone to defend them. Haha. I think the Hollies in the 1970s were one of the best live bands I have ever heard.

People like to rag on this song (I read someone describing it as a "dog of a song") but I rather like it, even if it flopped as a chart record. But they should have followed up "The Air that I Breathe" with a rocker they already had recorded; either "Tip of the Iceburg" or "Mexico Gold". Both were shelved at the time. What a shame.
