I suspect Martin does lip read a great deal. I have a hearing impairment myself, though it's not as severe as Martin's and I don't have a speech impediment.

But I've worked with other hard of hearing and deaf young people and I think many if not pretty much all do lip read, even without realising how much we do it. But of course I can't speak on behalf of everyone.

I think that you're quite right about the subconcious lip reading, matthieus (and I think that we've spoke before a long time ago).

I've noticed with my godchild, who is totally deaf, that sometimes he'll ask for clarification, even though we sign while we speak as a force of habit. So he's probably reading our lips the majority of the time and then will ask us to sign if he's missed something.

I think maybe he is totally deaf so a hearing aid ould not work. I think a hearing aid works only when one have very very bad hearing, so the hearing aid makes sounds louder for one to hear. It takes a while to die from anorexia/bulimia. She has issues. She had talked about how she knew that by allowing herself not to eat, she was losing her periods and may not be able to have kids later in life because of it. She was willing to forego that to keep modeling while she is young. I'm just glad to see her looking more healthy than before.
