  • The stage names are the main thing I consider better about the US version. I'm not sure whether I consider the increased difficulty relative to the Japanese version a bug or a feature. Definitely wish the US version had kept the Japanese version's enemy sprites and dialogue.

  • "Like I keep saying, go make a sna- Oh hey, it's over!"

    Hmph! Wanted my cheetoes...

  • what's that weird loking hed... the one with the symbols?

  • @VolkColopatrion It's the heavy head, aka the dud head that you don't want.

  • @leafbarrett well, ok but what's the symbol for it? what does it stand for... besides bad.

  • The bomb must explode when the face is exposed for the hit.

The japanese version takes 1 hit, the american takes 2.(JP bosses have 9 hit points, american have 17, with the execption of TFs,who has 34 hits in the JP version)

  • This game was great. Spinderella, Wooden Dresser, and Gatekeeper were my three favorite bosses. The cat definitely looks angrier in the American version.

  • There it is; my other favourite track in the game play during the second half of this boss fight.

  • I like the Paradise? boss theme.

  • Do you intend to do the secret boss fight at the end?

  • better to use the spike head on the missle bit just hold up and tap B dont have to worry about it running out if you are quick about it

  • Oh shoot! I need to go back to the previous videos and check the Secret Bonus Point totals. D: I've neglected my duties as pointless track-keeper.

  • Yay! More Luna-san! :)

  • For the third secret bonus point in Paradise? you'd have to make the lady/robot throw her arms really high to the left and she'll grab Beano.

  • You should play Ristar for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive.

I loved that game when I was a kid and this one so reminds me of it. ._.

    Also, great LP'ing <3

  • You know, Rayman (great game) has a boss that uses a similar gimmick to the head chasing: it's a giant scorpion thing that is impervious to your punches and uses homing projectiles. However, they just follow your (detachable) hands, so you can time it right and make the projectile smack back on the baddie's face!

Oh, and Izanami took my soul away and stuff. DAMN YOU DIFFICULTY SPIKE!!!

  • I used to hate the Bomb head, but one time I tried it and it really did make that boss so much easier. It can still take some time to time the bomb correctly (more luck than skill for me), but so much safer.

  • Treasure likes its cows. Pretty much every treasure game I've played has featured cows in it somewhere (and most of the ones on the Genesis/Mega Drive were cows you got to interact with like these ones here)

  • I remember the ones from Gunstar Heroes, but I can't think of any others. Can you give some examples? I'm interested now.

  • The only ones that immediately springs to mind are in Light Crusader (another genesis game). At one point you take a break from saving the villagers from the bad guys and, instead, save a herd of cows instead.

If you 'talk' to the cows they make the same mooing sound that you hear in this video, here.

  • Boy oh boy those sounds of the rocket charging remind me so much of Robotnik's chaos emerald machine charging up from S3&K.

I may have said it before, but much of this game reminds me of Sonic, from the design to the sounds and music. Kind of a cross between Sonic and Ristar, actually.

  • I really enjoy this game, now that I know aboutit, but I have to say I'm nowhere near as good as you are at it, Luna. You take the cake.

  • Also, the boss which is shown in the video is Yayoi and Izayoi, they are both different, Yayoi is the first half of the fight where you have to get Heather to throw the keys. Izayoi was the second half where you had to just hit her in the face. In America, it was the Gate Keeper and the Nasty Gatekeeper, they had the same boss pattern as Yayoi and Izayoi. Also, a little fun fact, if you couldn't tell, Yayoi resembles a female Japanese Kabuki dancer wearing a pink kimono.

  • Yeah, I'm surprised I forgot to mention Yayoi and Izayoi in the video, considering that they're so much different from the American version. She's a geisha, though, not a kabuki dancer.

  • Hurrah! Time manipulation, explodings, and creepy stalker cats. Can't wait for more.

  • Hey, I just realized why DC doesn't update anymore. See he had a TON of LP's for us, but as he was uploading them all, Madamluna used a save state and whoops! There goes all his hard work.

  • The boss battles seem really long. I don't play many platformers anymore, but the health bars are pretty ridiculous.

  • Hahahahaha wait until you see Twin Freaks.

  • I metnioned this in a comment for the last video, but supposedly, his HP is halved in the american version. But you're not playing that.

Apparently there's a way to cheat in the japanese version, however.

  • Oh my god, I sucked at the Izayaoi fight in the stream. Bomb head saved my life.

    Nice work, as always.

  • Strange game...

  • Thanks for introducing me (and the rest of YouTube, I guess) to this game.

Never would have occurred to me to try it out, otherwise.

  • I'm glad you gave it a try. It's a game near and dear to my heart, so I'm happy to hear that people are experiencing it for themselves :)

  • I used to paly this game a long long time ago..along with that orange cat game.. (not garfield..butsy? betsy..whatever his name was)

really good game keep the vids up!

  • I think I know which one you're talking about, Bubsy... I think.

  • yes!!!

  • Bubsy!

  • yes!!!!
