yo alex, try using Evans EC2 Clears for your floor toms and keep the G2 clears on the tom tom's. I'm rocking that config right now and fucking love it. Much better than G2's on the floor toms.

The only thing missing is the "groove" with the hihat before the solo, for example from 3:09 to 3:20

I don't know about you, but these bastards really laid into my index fingers.

Best to keep the idea of using a marching stick on a kit to yourself. People love to lecture about that.

They're not for everyone. They're the heaviest marching stick and it takes a lot training/hand strength to use them. It seems like some people are buying them because it's sort of 'trendy' in the drum community. Just be careful and don't hurt yourself!

I'm thinking about switching to a lighter stick again, but I'm a little torn. We'll see how these other pairs record!

@mdterps1042 I've been using the Magnums for about 4 or 5 months now, simply for want of a heavier stick. Sometimes I also consider going back to lighter sticks, both for price and for the sake of my heads and cymbals, but honestly don't like the feel. Did you just go buy a few pairs of good 'ol Mangini Sigs (great, but extremely inconsistent), or did you try even lighter pairs?

@BurnThePope0514 definitely look into some drum corps/ world class percussion ensemble techniques if you decide to do that, those stick can REALLY mess you up if you just go on using a technique that's not solid.

Recently I have found many mind blowing drummers and I noticed something.. Every one of them uses Vic Firth MS4 sticks :D For example Travis Orbin, Anup Sastry and Alex right here! Are those some magical sticks or what the hell is going on? Haha! I know that these guys are great players cuz they practice A LOT but I just thought that it's funny when they all use the exact same stick model. OH and they all use Pearl Demon Drive pedals also! :D:D

I think it would hit much harder if you put in a slight echo effect on the snare and tuned it a little higher so there is a bit of a "pop/ping" sound. The snare sounds a little too warm. (IMO)
