The struggle of Shivaji was never against Islam, it was against bramhanism. Bramhanism had exploited whole of India. But in Maharashtra it was Sant parampara which had united people from every cast and creed. bramhanism had always kept them divided. This united mass manifested themselves by creating there own empire. Brahmins have again in modern india painted the picture that Shivaji's fight was aginst muslims. This has diverted the wrath of people from brahmins to muslims. Brahmnism a curse
@ashit2007 What utter nonsense?? Islam is & will forever be the undoing of Bharatvarsha. Over the centuries, mughals & brits have tried to use the same theory to divide indian society & its classes. It is the Brahmins who have kept the idea of India alive. It was the brahmin advisers of Indore, Jhansi & other states who encouraged their kings/queens to take up arms against the foreign oppressors. Idea of an united India was never on the minds of the petty rulers always at war with each other.
@indrajeet It's time u moved away from the imperial islamist & colonialist interpretation of the caste system. It's simply a socio-political construct, it's neither economic nor religious. Could you pray tell me how the Brahmins benefitted from creating this sytem? Tell me how many rich Brahmins you know? The authority was with the Kshatriyas & the money was with the merchant (vaishya) castes, it was to create a balance of power in the society that this system was imagined by our revered seers.
@adityabose26 how exactly was creating untouchables a balance of power - you think manusmriti is justifiable, not to mention all the mythology like the story of parushurama designed to justify the brahmins top position is society, look at the difference between the mahabharat of today and the ancient version?? Kings are stooges to brahmins, but they were not in ancient times, ashokas own mother was brahmin indicating that they had now real power in those days.
@indrajeet It was not designed to be oppressive, it was to simply maintain the equilibrium in a society where knowledge (or vidya) & hard work (shrama) would be given the same sanctity as wealth & power. You should realize that whenever the later two become more important, soceity declines since there is no value given to education or genuine labour. All the social reformers in the past were Brahmins, be it the principal buddhist monks who helped spread it to the masses or Guru Nanak himself.
@adityabose26 It was originally as per vedas the VARNA system - to choose ones way of life based upon ability-the hinduism of today is a far cry from the enlightened vedic religion of kautaliya or sashrutha,Guru Nanak was not bhramin - he was Kshatriya. The truth is that Buddhism dominated india for nearly 100 years, the brahmin priests did not like this overtime they incorporated many of its aspects into hindu beliefs and slowly wiped it out - what they couldnt finish the muslims invaders did.
@indrajeet Can you deny it? Even in the present times, the major reformers in teh Indian society were Brahmins, be it Raja Ram mohan Roy, Dayanand saraswati, Acharya ji or Bal Gangadhar Tilak or Lala Lajpat Rai. Why is there then so much vilification of the Brahmins? Have u ever seen a single bollywood film where the Brahmin priest is shown in a good light? But the christian priest or the muslim Kazi is always grace personified. If the Brahmins had that much clout, this wouldn't have happened.
@adityabose26 a few names in the present is hadrly going to undue what these people have done in the past, gangu bhramin betrayer of Guru Gobind Singhs family, Pushymitra Sunga - the brahmin general - usurper of maghad, the shahi kingdom of kabul and peshawar was usurped by brahmin minister, not to mention atrocities these people carried out in the middle ages against so called low caste - denying edcaution to low caste and women, denying vedas to otherss and causing ours civilisation to decline
@indrajeet you are a funny character with funny knowledge. This isn't about your Gurus here. We do not believe in bragging. by the way, Sunga killed last maurayan Emperor not because he was Buddhist but he refused to fight Huns and partiharas who were devastating the western frontier. traitors were those Punjabi Jats and Meds who betrayed the brahmin who solely stood against the Arabic hordes. Mohammad Bin Qasim could never defeat raja dahir without Jats' treasury
@Jeetu311 I never said it was about my Gurus as you put it, Pushiamitra sunga assasinated the last mauryan empreror and usurped the thrown i dont see what this has to do with hun invasion which occured more then 400 years after the collaps of the Mauryan empire. I think its you with funny knoweldge, im not a jat so i wouldnt care for you calling them coward, it was the Rajput confedaration under Bappa Rawal aka Prince Kalbojh who defeated the arab caliphate.
@Jeetu311 Raja Dahir was defeat on account of several reason, one of them was his ill treat, you do know that dahir used arab soldiers as his military advisers dont you??
@indrajeet Wasn't it Ala Singh who helped Abdali despite Abdali's desecrated Golden temple? Wasn't it sikhs who openly declared support for British in first war of independence? Better shut your puss y and booze in ur Gurudware
@Jeetu311 Ala Singh doesnt represent sikhs anymore then gangu represents hindus, i think its you that beter shut your As* hole and pick up a book since your obviosly speaking sh*t, We faught against the british in the ango sikh wasr but were betrayed by the Dogras who gave our military plans to the british, by the way, i suggest you go and read about the kuka movement led by baba Ram Singh who faught against the british lol.
@indrajeet The caste system as we see it now is like any other class based society. How is it any different than the one in Europe? The egalitarian concept, or equal rights for everyone is only in the books. How many leaders in europe or the americas have NOT come out from the privileged sections of the society? NONE. Whereas, in India we have had a "so called" untouchable draft the constitution & another becoming president. Move away from these western perceptions of our society, form ur own.
@adityabose26 how is it different? Well lets see, the caste system in india is based on ones birth and cannot be changed, a person in europe through aqquiring education and prosperity can become uperclass, but in india even a professor will still be considered a dalit, The egalitarian concept of equal rights did exist - it exist in vedic times, it existed in the sikh empire too.
please translate this serial in hindi really waiting for seening it in hindi because shivaji maharaj i\was not only the maharaj of marathas but maharaja of all hindusssssssssssssssssss
If it wasn't for that man, India would be in a Libya type situation...
