  • Nice block, I've done a front grill block on my '92 VW Polo. Underside I've not yet done, I'm a bit concerned about my cooling. I want to try and make a movable cover for in the underside of the bumper.

  • Fuel savings will be over 5% in the winter and in summer you need to optimise the block you climate, but you can still see easily 3-5% savings. This is the cheapest and easiest mod to do and gives best bang for buck ;).

  • Nice.

What kind of material you've used to make this grille block?

Did you test overall L/100km differences with and without grill block? If yes could you share your results somehow?

    Thanks.

  • @TheRRC84 Its 3mm thick abs plastic. You can carve it with a hunting knife etc. Not with this car but you can find test results from ecomodder forum by using their own search function. When you block your frontal cooling fully your cd will drop 0.02-0.03 units which is huge. In winter you will also get benefits from faster warm up times which also lowers the fuel consumption.
