I've been looking for the full-length version of this video for a while. Thanks for sharing! I suggest including the English name--Outward Flight (Psalm 323)--for easier searching. Cheers!
well i disagree with you...the first were without despute Joy Division....anyway Gothic rock came after punk/post-punk....Kukl labeled as a gothic, post-punk band but their sound was too insane that we cant say exactly what type of music they were playing hehehe..anyway they were an excellent band..and i feel bad that back in those times Bjork was an artist who played with bands like Crass(they were in crass rec also) and with Flux Of Pink Indians and now shes making big money as a big star!!!
Well I think he meant they were the first to claim Gothic Rock on their own. While they probably weren't the first to be called that in the press or weren't the first Gothic Rock band in retrospect, they were probably the first band that used that term to describe themselves. A lot of eariler bands labeled as gothic rock such as Joy Division, Siouxsie, Bauhaus, and the Cure didn't like being called Gothic and say it's not what their music is anyway.
don't forget Cocteau Twins they were gothic in their early career in music until they changed their musical styles into a more dreamy ambient pop music of Alternative Rock
KUKL is the most interesting part of Bjork's carrier, and the Sugarcubes the most entertaining. I must say I don't really enjoy Bjork's solo carrier as much as those two bands. The Eye by KUKL is particularly brilliant.
what were they saying at 3 20?????

At 1:53 Cutting flames with a scythe and snath attached to a guitar. That's inventive.
The whole bands' muse puked after 3 days of constant whiskey drinking and this came out.

KUKL was the first band to claim the label Gothic Rock. Although it's sound is totally different from what would be considered Gothic rock nowadays.
