As always, thanks for posting. Very happy that Marcin was able to retain his World title. Klokov always puts on a good fight ... That's crazy about Aramnau if true. Never a fan of his though.
C'mon, they are getting a bit strict with these press-outs. To red light Smorchkov's 193 that first time, come on... his elbow barely flexed. I guess I just don't understand how that little flex gave him any sort of advantage.
@nova68nova I think that without the press-out rule, the bar doesn't have to go as high (or the lifter doesn't have to get under it as quickly), and thus technical efficiency would take a backseat to lockout strength.
@nova68nova Rules are rules. If you start accepting press outs, soon you'll notice we have modern day powerlifting here where the guys have a cannon strapped to their ass which fires on the second pull and a monolift to catch the weight ;) There aren't many rules in weightlifting which leave room for interpretation, and the one that they have (pressin out), I am glad they are strict in following it.
Pressing out in the bottom position of a snatch, that's hard to do and keep your arm from folding. these guys are fucking strong!

Frank, by any chance, did they mention why Aramnau or Lapikov didn't compete?
Qsaysfuckyou 1 year ago
@Qsaysfuckyou aramnau is under investigation for doping, lapikov is moving to 105+ so isn't ready

@Myself0101 I've heard it was another drunk driving charge and being busted out of competition for smoking marijuana.
