This guy has a lot of courage and was one of the guys who lead the bust on the Savings & Loan Crisis in the 1980s when he was a banking regulator. He is now a law professor at UMKC. We need more like him at places like OTS, FDIC, and the Federal Reserve. I think this whole financial crisis could have been prevented if our regulators were doing their jobs at the time.

@togowack Actually, I think you misunderstood. It is the fact that the regulators did not do their job. Listen to the comment about "Required to close these institutions" and they did not do so. They could have taken action against Lehman, WaMu, BofA, Indymac, Bear Stearns long before they allowed the economy to crash but did not do so. According to another William Black interview, the FBI knew of the mortgage fraud in 2004 but did not act on it.
