I can't figure out the obsession with the photo? It's not particularly unbelievable. Do you think someone found a photo of young George serving in Nam, cut it out and superimposed it over the face of someone at a frat party? If someone were to go to such lengths, why not hang a doobie from his lips too?

As for the audio, there's nothing "vague" about claiming you were in Nam when you weren't. And isn't "fighting a guerrilla war with conventional forces" EXACTLY what he's doing now in Iraq?

The photo is a well known to the Net (do a Google image search). IIRC, it was taken from a Yale Campus newsletter/yearbook.

I see no "border" around the face that you seem to see so clearly. And remember B/W photography was still very common in the late 60's/early 70's.

I'm not surprised you'd prefer to focus on the *photo* rather than what is said in the audio.
