It sucks, but he had a good reason to. Every member of a band needs to know what's going on with their music. I'm in a band myself and if one of my band members took a song I wrote and changed things and released it, I'd be pissed off myself and I'd kick them out as well.

He has a pretty good voice and the ability to sing live the notes he lays down in the studio...but this whole acoustic set is full of obvious vocal pitch correction. Seriously, listen closely to his voice with this in mind. His voice is still being recorded through a microphone and fixed up for the video.
