  • If I'm not mistaken this was in 1987 live in Zimbabwe because in those days it was not allowed in South Africa to have many black people in one place especially in one place with whites. I stand to be corrected. Just love these guys

  • GOOD JOB FOR BOYCOTTING ISRAEL!

  • singing in a only voice is this.

  • Come to Africa. This is how Africans sing. The 'solo singer' is a European thing. We always sing in groups. I heard this very sound two weeks ago at my cousin's wedding. The men in my family were singing. Its beautiful. Its even more beautiful when you're part of them.

  • I feel so good when I watch this and I feel healing in my mind and soul when I listen. God is with these men!!!!

  • the best thing about them its that, it will never die, at time one or two may meet there end over many years.. 2000000 years from now.. they may not near the people they came from.. but the music will be loved by those who love it.

  • this is the mighty zulu nation

  • hayi bafana, hayi zintsizwa! Oh, make me miss my country so much! Bless you mcarleial!

  • music is alive and breathing! shrooms or no shrooms.

  • most of north america knew niothing of this group until paul simon put them on his album. it's too bad because they are great.

  • @TheSandsie13 not just North America. most white people didn't know anything of them. and that's because even in their own country they couldn't get radio play because of apartheid. they'd have remained performing as a village ensemble had they not been brought to a larger stage by Paul Simon. they acknowledge this in one of their songs where they sing about the day the met PS in Jo'burg and this leading onto them "getting the wings to fly abroad".

  • their voices are the misc, you can listen to the album 1000000 times not really realizing it is acapella

  • I've listened to this since i was 2-i still get goosebumps!

  • wow

  • yeah ... but THE Fifa choose Shakira PFFFFFFFFF!!! too bad for Sudafrica 2010

  • @juaniroable

    I agree with you, juaniroable!

  • @juaniroable thats because the world is controlled by an elite class and whoever goes with them get what they want. at the price of their "soul"

  • Comment removed

  • @WTFPWNT otally agree! God Bless Africa, amazing continent with true people, and worst part of that is that we (all of us) we know those gold soul people are dying at we are just looking at it

  • @juaniroable hey hey now, there are gold soul'd kids in our streets everyday dieing and people just shrug it off

  • @juaniroable Yeah...Fifa did ' cuz to them it's about MONEY, and not really vibration or spiritual like MJ did 21 years ago in his Moonwalking.

  • @juaniroable Thought K'naan was chosen :(, Shakiras was pure crap :s

  • @juaniroable

shakira over this real music what a disgrace

  • The african Soul live and alive - asolutely phantastique!

  • In one word : OUTRAGEOUS

  • This in one of my favorite choirs (the other one is Celtic Woman). These guys are sensational ! They are Zulu aren't they?

  • Yes, Isbldayt, they are Zulu !

  • Thanks for confirming that, phonophesile.

It's hard to tell Zulu from Xhosa as I'm not South African and these languages sound pretty similar to me. But these guys are fantastic !!!

  • They are very close. Zulu doesn't have clicks in the language and Xhosa does. Think they sing in Xhosa sometimes.

  • Listen and rejoice. Awesome.

  • It fills my heart with joy and peace. Thanks! There is still something good on this planet.

  • it inverts itself until you have your very own ladysmith black mambazo.

  • i love the different culture's all over the world. we need to learn to respect each other! never judge a person by where he/she comes from or by the religion he/she believes in but by the content of their character! that is what music tells us :-) everywhere....just listen to it right! god bless you all <3

  • Perfection! angels sing!

  • So amazing !

    from BOOTAKILL to France

  • Random point: at 2:09 you can see Paul Simon standing backstage on the left side.

    Fantásticoo!!!

  • it's a song about life/love and most of the deep sounds come from the sound of the ox, dude where did you get the white millitary involvement???

  • ?_ soo worng

  • holy cow! they called themselves Ladysmith? i never knew- Ladysmith for you non historians is a true tale about white millitary ineffectuallity in Africa. 'Hello My Baby' , reclaimed by Ladysmith -terrific!

  • Yes , maybe but actually - Ladysmith is the name of the town where they come from in South Africa.

  • At this show, Paul introduces the group by saying they take their name from their hometown, ladysmith, while mambazo means "axe" in their native language, which they decided upon because of their powerful vocals...

  • i like sooooooooooooo much!!!!!!!! <3
