Brilliant work there! I love it! It's amazing how you've managed to achieve such a smooth film. I particularly enjoyed the splashes of the water! Incredible.
I explained how I did it in a post on the "Brickfilms" website. Go to their "Community" page, click the search option and search for "Diving, falling and somersaulting" (which is the title of my post). Hopefully that will tell you all you need to know!
I can't imagine the incredible amount of work it took to create this wonderful little gem! Congrats! Now, if you could do the "Bell Trio" from Pinafore..Gilbert and Sullivan forever! Thanks for posting.
I saw the Mugss one with the airship as one of my friends was playing one of the pirates (this year). I was very impressed with their performance. It was excellent.
By 'modern terminology' do you mean American or some ignorant colloquial classification? I've only ever heard of it referred to as an operetta or comic opera over here in the UK.
If it was operatic and written today it would still be called an operetta. Modern operas are still operas, musicals are something different altogether, some have operatic overtones like 'phantom' but are still primarily a musical. You could argue that some things are debateable whether its musical or operetta, Show Boat for example but it is generally agreed that they are separate things. As with everything, it depends.
Ha-ha! Brilliance!

Well, if we're being picky, it's neither musical nor operetta. Operettas are a viennese art form - it's a comic opera.

Great! ^^

Why does everyone keep referring to it as a 'play'?
davidgoodman85 2 years ago
Well ok its technically an operetta buy in modern terminology it would be classed as a musical play

by that i mean that if it were to be written today it would fall under musical theater rather than opera.

Eminently watchable, and without any solecisms that might bring a blush to maiden modesty. Keep on doin' it. Very clever.
