  • Love this tutorial! I made one! I used Sugar n' Cream cotton, it's a multicolored one. It turned out great! Thanks for this amazing video!

  • @potternerd13 Sorry I'm late in getting back to you. Glad the video helped. The multicolored ones are awesome - bet yours looks fantastic :)

  • i don't know why i am having such a hard time keeping my rows at twenty ...i am landing up with 17...and nothing left...i am going to start again...my first two rows are great then i lose it...

  • This pattern makes a neat ball, too, if you stuff it and then close it up. Thanks so much!

  • Thanks for the video. The crochet part was simple, I was lost in the assembly phase. I appreciate you taking the time to do this!

  • naztazia hermoso video te felicito eres genial estoy feliz que medes la facilidad de ver tus vdeos saludos

  • I've just started to crochet and can only do a sc so far. This is my very first project and it came out a bit rough but I can still use it as a bath scrubbie. I'm so thrilled that I was able to do this! You're beginner's crochet video got me started and then I progressed to this one once I got the sc down pat. Thank you so much for your videos - you've taught me something that I really enjoy. Bless you Donna - you've given me a lovely gift!!

  • Beautiful and super easy!

  • @Belem1977 Wonderful! Thank you for stopping by and providing feedback :)

  • Thank you so much for posting this tutorial!

  • @alexwinters Thank you for the kindness and glad the video could help :)

  • @naztazia It sure would be nice if the sew together part at the end has clear instructions. Turn it over how? My tail is not in a good place to sew the opposite end. Thank you.

  • @54Spinner Hello - there should be a written annotation in the video on what to do, but it might be hidden by the advertisements (I've just moved it to the top). After pulling the yarn tightly, push your needle through the center of the scrubbie and out to the other side. Then turn the scrubbie over and weave around the other side's edges.

  • Thanks so much for this video! I could not figure out the assembly portion of this scrubbie. I realized (from watching you) that I was sewing the edges together & weaving through the rows- oops, backwards!

I love all of your videos- thanks for taking the time to put them out there.

  • @SoWeCanWatch2 Awesome! Glad the video could help :)

  • Can u make a tutorial on how to make to ring box?

  • Thank you very much for this tutorial. It was very very useful, especially the assembling part. Thanks!

  • I really love this. I am having a problem with the increase side it is not increasing it is just straight. I thought I was doing everything u said, so what am I doing wrong?

  • Thank you Naztazia!!!

This video explain exactelly what you have to do a beautiful scrubbie!!

I'll post my scrubbie on my blog.

May I link this video on my post?

  • @zulmirab Thank you for the kindness and glad the video could help. Feel free to link on your blog. Take care!

  • @naztazia Thank you!!

I already posted my colored scrubbie and put your link also.

  • OK, made one but I have a problem. In the beginning I have 17 sc as you between the beginning and the end but after 21 rows I have 10-15 sc left hahaha....I doing something wrong (I decrease extra somewhere) but have no idea where.....OK try another one but with acryl because making it with the cotton I have available made it very small(about the half of yours) even using the largest hook(4,5 mm) voor this yarn.

  • @trovey02 Sometimes those decreases can be a bit tricky! It's just a matter of counting each and every row, which is alot easier said than done if your house is like mine with lots of noise between kids/pets, etc. Some cotton yarn is thin - which is why yours came out small. Actually the cotton makes a nice size for small baby scrubbies. The acrylic you used is very nice too because it doesn't stretch as easily and oftentimes lasts longer through lots of washings.

  • Hello, I've run into trouble sewing this piece together. My shape is fine until I weave one end around and then start on the other end. I wind up with a cylinder instead of a flat scrubbie. Please help!!!! :) I guess I get lost when you say turn the work over and use the same yarn, do you push the yarn through the center and then continue on with weaving in the other side?

  • @dpsmith74 Hello - yes, once you sew the center closed on the one side, you push the same yarn through the center and then continue weaving/sewing the center of the other side. That will avoid the cylinder shape and make the scrubbie into a flat disk.

  • @naztazia - Thank you so much, that did it! I thought that is what you meant but I wasn't sure and it was the only part of your video that wasn't quite clear. You make amazing videos, thank you again :)

  • @naztazia I did this for three scrubbies, but I still end up with a cylinder rather than a flat disc.. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

  • i tried three times but the spiral pattern is not coming. i am a starter plus a left hander.is it the reason y i didnt get wat i want?

  • @grace007ify Hi! If the spiral pattern isn't working, it's probably because you aren't doing the increases and decreases correctly at the beginning and the ending of each row. That's what actually forms the spiral pattern when you go to sew the scrubbie. Take a look at the 3 minute 2 second mark in the video. When you are finished crocheting, does your piece look like that shape? I think the shape is called a parallelogram. If not, I'd suggest reviewing the increase/decrease part of the video.

  • @naztazia thanks a lot!

  • Before you started to show how to make these in the video, I was thinking "Yeah, these would be easy to do in the round". But, after I watched the video I realized that what started to seem like the easy way to do this probably wouldn't have been a smart move on my part, lol.

    Thanks for posting ^.^

  • @cometmoon Thanks for stopping by and glad the video could help with those scrubbies :)

  • Thank you very much for showing me how to do this! Your video was very clear and professional. Thanks again! :)

  • @DatabaseDesigns4U Thank you for the kindness and glad the video could help :)

  • These remind me of the knitted tribbles I found online and have been making for a yr now. Thanks!!!

  • @RainbowRoseConnie Hehe - great observation! These are the crocheted version of the knitted tribbles :) Thanks for stopping by!

  • naztazia could you make a tutorial for making a hyperbolic pseudosphere

i really need to learn how to do one .

  • @msvpofccp1978 I'm taking a little break from videos now, but will put that one on the to-do list. Essentially most hyperbolic plane crochet starts off with anywhere from 2 to 20 chains (depending upon object), then subsequent rows usually double in stitches. You achieve this doubling by doing 2 single crochets in each stitch from the row below.

  • Great idea! Thanks for the tutorials!

    RMK

  • Thank you Natazia I love this scrubbie

  • @Chickcana Thanks for stopping by and glad the video could help :)

  • this is great to include in a baby gift set along w/other handcrafted baby items

  • @crafteecrafter You are absolutely correct! I could definitely see a little pink set or blue set or green/yellow with some bath time baby shampoo, baby lotion, a little duck toy, and tiny socks/booties :)

  • do you think i could use coarse nylon netting with this pattern?

  • @colebabys23 Absolutely you could use the nylon netting with the pattern. I've cut up tulle into 1-inch strips from the fabric stores and have used that. I've also used thin nylon cording you can find in the rope section of Lowe's. They might come out bigger than if you use regular cotton, but the stronger materials like nylon work very well. Hope this helps.

  • This is a great tutorial. I may try that pattern.

  • @sheilascrafts Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate the feedback.

  • I attempted my first scrubbie and it turned out perfectly!! I will definitely be making more of these to give away :)

  • @anmari Awesome! Glad to hear the scrubbies worked for you. They indeed make great gifts. Thanks for stopping by!

  • I wanted to thank you for making a video that is complete and easy to follow.. I wanted to know if you have a video how to make a bikini... I want to make one formy daughter.... THank YOu

  • I wanted to thank you for making a video that is so easy to follow and complete.. I was wondering if you had a video on how to make a bikini. I want to make one for my daughter.. thank you

  • @dianamm39 Glad the video could help! I'm asking for requests on new video ideas, so I've marked your idea down. Thanks and take care!

  • made one using instructions, could you make it bigger using the same pattern? Thanks

  • @bassfish0912 Hiya! You can make a scrubbie bigger and still use the same pattern by doing a few things. 1) You can use a larger crochet hook, which will increase the size of each stitch - thereby increasing the final product. 2) You can use thicker yarn (or even double the yarn) - thus also increasing the final product. 3) You can use a thicker yarn and a larger crochet hook. You can also modify the pattern - perhaps add 5 chains at the beginning row and add 5 more rows to the pattern.

  • could the pattern be expended to be made for an adult by making the base chain longer? Thanks

  • can the pattern be changed to make them bigger for adults shower size?

  • mine came out looking like cra* its hard i spend hours crocheting it and looks were it got me :(

  • @TheDecemberQueen Hiya - if you send a picture of your finished scrubbie to my email address, maybe I can offer you some suggestions on it.

  • What size hook are you using please?

  • @RialaRunes Hiya! The crochet hook I'm using in the video is the size recommended in Judith Prindle's pattern for the spiral scrubbies - an aluminum USA size "H" in the Boye brand. If you are using the metric system, it's a 5mm.

  • @naztazia ahhh... I am on row 17 with a 4mm, so I might as well keep going! :)

  • Thank you for posting this! I'm planning on trying this out this weekend, and I appreciate your step by step instructions and clear video so much!

  • @treemonkeyfrankie Glad the video could help. Thanks for the feedback!

  • I had to request the printed version because my pc plays some vids very slow. I almost completed the project when I realized I didn' t understand how to scruntch it up. So, I had to come on here & watch what ends were to be weaved in & where, to finish the project.

Thanks so much for this adorable bath scrubbie. I think I will use a couple size larger needle to make my next scrubbie! :o)

  • @Ahajustsde Thank you for the feedback. Glad the video could help!

  • Thanks for the tutorial! This was the clearest, easy to follow tutorial I've seen so far! Please keep 'em coming!

  • @MLE12211984 Thanks for the kindness! There will be more shortly :)

  • This is so cute & I never would have thought to sew something up with that outcome. Love it!!! I do hope you do more videos please. Have a great day!

  • Thanks for stopping by! I love this pattern myself - can't even begin to tell you how many of these scrubbies I have made just in the past year alone. Take care!

  • Huge help! Got the basic piece done and couldn't figure out the finishing. Thanks!

  • Thanks for the feedback and glad the video has helped!

  • This is great. I'm going to try making this now :)

  • Glad it could help. Thanks for stopping by!

  • Thanks for the video. It is easier to do once I see it done.

  • I appreciate the feedback - glad it could help!

  • Thanks so much for all your videos...they really help me understand how to do things!! The Broomstick Lace Scarf is amazing...

I subscribed and I hope there will be more videos soon :)

  • Thanks for the kindness and feedback!

  • 325Sharona, it sounds like you are forgetting the final step which is to pull the yarn through the center (the hollow center) and having both yarn ends meet at one end, you tie them together. This pulls the swirl flat, creating the swirl look.

    I hope this helps,

    Em

  • the scubbies looks like eh lollipops!!

  • Hehe indeed they do!

  • I'm so glad you made this video! The visual demo really helped me understand the pattern! Thank you!!

  • Great! Thanks for the feedback!

  • Even as an intermediate crocheter, I still find it sooo difficult to read patterns - your channel is just what I've been looking for! Thank you so much, Donna! These scrubbies are so easy and fun to make, especially with your very deliberated and clear instructions!

  • Thanks for the kindness. These little scrubbies are indeed fun - and certainly make great gifts (for others - or yourself!)

  • You're welcome. :D But . . . one thing I have to say is, I noticed after I made a couple that they don't look like the ones you show at the end. After crocheting them, I stich up the middle seam, then draw one end together, then finish off the other end leaving me with the whole piece, but how exactly do you fold it or do whatever it is you do to create that round, swirly look? Signed, Discombobulated.

  • Sounds like you are doing everything correctly. As long as you are doing the decreases on the one side and the increases on the other side, it "should" automatically swirl. And pulling the center yarn really tight and adjusting the stitches helps too. Sometimes the swirl is just more pronounced using certain multi-colored yarn.

  • Thank you Donna for clear and concise instructions. I love your work.

  • Thank you for the kind thoughts. I really appreciate the feedback.

  • Hello Naztazia ! As a French, I find your English so clear, and your video so clear, a real pleasure. Thank you for teaching us so efficiently.

  • Thank you so much for your kindness.

  • i love your vids this video was very helpful i've already made 2 in the 2 days i've watched this video, i've made an orange soft one and a camouflage one since i am a male crocheter and i love orange, i cant wait to see more crochet videos!!!!!!

  • Oh wow - that's an awesome idea. I never thought of camouflage. And there are some wonderful camouflage-colored yarns these days in all sorts of fibers. I bet your scrubbies look great!

  • me too i always wondered how to do those..i don't read patterns very well. you show how to do this very well..i look forward to more easy video's.

  • Glad it helped. Thanks for the kind words!

  • I have been wondering how to make these. Thanks!

  • If you are on Ravelry, I look forward to seeing pics of yours :)

  • Thanks, u r awesome. Have a question? when you weave the last side r u pulling the yarn thru the center

  • Yes, that's exactly what's happening. Weave around the first edge, pull tightly to close the circle, then put your yarn needle with the same yarn through the center towards the other side, then weave around that other edge.

  • I should also mention that when you finish that last edge, you don't necessarily need to pull the yarn through the center again. There are actually 2 tail ends (one when you start the scrubbie, and one when you end it)... I just knotted the yarn from the last weaved side to the other tail end. Probably can do it any number of other ways as well.

  • LOVE IT! I especially LOVE "meeting" the famous NAZ!
