  • thumbs up if you are here because of Hans Zimmer.

  • i wander if she could sing this twice in the same way. it`s kind of hard, don`t you think?

  • Arabian gothic??? what bullshit is that?? Dead Can Dance has nothing to do with any music that exists in boxes!! They always made music that transcended anything, but joined everything! If you have to give this a name...you don't get it!!

  • @gyqz .......Man ... well informed before commenting on the case, ARABIAN GOTHIC, and 'the track number 6 from' ALBUM 'GOTHIC SPLEENS' OF 1994 .... OK?? there is this piece ...

  • @warrior61936 Yup....Very good investigation on your part, because this was an unofficial release from a live concert in Germany. Nor DCD nor the label company ever acknowledged this release...that is why these things are called bootlegs....

  • @gyqz man,I have things more 'important things to do, which replicated to figure out nonsensical comments, you said:' GOTHIC ARABIAN ??,You should know that this is a LIVE RADIO BROADCAST, Musikhalle Hamburg, 26/10/1990,namely the song is called 'SWANS (arabian gothic), bootlegs,' GOTHIC SPLEENS ',that the company does not recognize or DCD or another, be it a song or a live studio, what does it matter? I repeat the song is called 'SWANS (ARABIAN GOTHIC), because' known by many with that name,ok

  • @warrior61936 Ok...I kinda understood, what you tried to say here. I will not discuss this any further, but please refrain from any translation site before you post a comment..Thank you!!

  • @gyqz What on earth are you two arguing about?

  • @jjobie Hahahahaha...just something stupid! It's more a game of 'I say/ you say'

  • it's pure and free improvisation. one of the best things of her work

  • nice

  • I think this is an improvised verson of Lisa Gerrard's song "Swans", released on her album The Mirror Pool. Check out, it's available here on Youtube.

Love Lisa Gerrard and DCD - their art is philosophy and religion expressed through music.

  • This is an ancient Egyptian lullaby. It's about a young boy who strays from home, never to be seen again, until hundreds of years later, and he is reincarnated...as Justin Bieber!!

  • the "kanoun" sounds great <3

  • Dead Can Dance are sensational.

  • I just got a severe case of the shivers... love DCD, however, cannot listen to this song any longer.

  • I want Lisa Gerrard and Azam Ali on either side of my bed every night, singing me to sleep. It would be the best sleep ever!

  • ...

  • GOD DAMN!!! THAT VOICE!!!! shit man, thats beautiful!!

  • some have said that through lisa angels sing with i mystical language

  • According to Yeshua, the Holy Spirit speaks of 3 subjects; Of sin, because we believe not Yeshua rose from the dead, of the righteousness of Yeshua who returned to the Heavenly Father & judgment because the prince of this world is judged. Yeshua says if we believe He rose from the dead we need to ask for Holy Spirit to dwell within us. It is not automatic. This Comforter will remind us of all the teachings of Yeshua, will manifest Love,forgivness,joy,gentleness,self-control,peace, faith, meekness

  • @nomadhippiee I have to simply ask you one thing: "according to Yeshua" based on who/what? This is one of the problems that plague mankind: inserting human thinking into what was initially taught/intended.

  • I rattle on because in searching different religions I never ran into the teaching of Holy Spirit until I read the story of Yeshua. I am making a defining statement that if someone sings beautifully w/words we cannot identify as any nation’s language it doesn’t mean it is HOLY SPIRIT. Touching, yes, mesmerizing, yes. Her singing is not wrong. Our Impression is. Make sure credit is given properly. When listening to her music does it cause you to seek Yeshua?

  • Speaking in tongues as read in Acts was a phenomenon. The speakers spoke a language they did not know but there were people in the assembly who DID understand. A disciple of Jesus Christ speaks “in tongues” for the benefit of the one being spoken to. It is always understood and interpreted by someone. No interpretation, it is just gibberish. This woman is making music utilizing vocal sounds. It is beautiful and captivating. Whether the Holy Spirit is communicating with someone is unknown.

  • its name is swans

  • Is this pseudo language supposed to sound like Arabic?

  • often versed as "language of the angels" (Kaballah?) The mood is the form of "a requiem. It denotes the death or passing of a "love" or "loved one.

  • you don't need to understand the words or language in order to understand the real MUSIC

  • CAll this, Talking in Tongues. Don't try to put words to it. It is Lisa's feelings transferring to us.

Excelente!

  • Glossolalia or speaking in tongues is the fluid vocalizing (or, less commonly, the writing) of speech-like syllables, often as part of religious practice. Though some consider these utterances to be meaningless, others consider them to be part of a holy language

  • i love this music

  • I have done the same thing,I'm listening both of them,ok maybe you are right, thanks!

  • Maybe trying to create a language that sounds like arabic and latin??

  • This song is not SWANS.PLEASE If anybody know's it...

  • @dinakambani The title changed with the album. In "Hidden Treasures" it's called "Arabian Gothic". Dead Can Dance never release a studio version, Lisa did when she released her first solo album, "The Mirror Pool", now under the name "Swans". It's the same song, I have both versions, and hear them a lot :), at this moment I'm listening "Swans" from "The Mirror Pool"; only the ending is different from "Arabian Gothic".

  • @dinakambani Actually this IS Swans. When she performs it live, it always sounds different than the album version that you might be used to.

  • This song is called Swans. The language is not Arabic, but glossalalia

  • Lisa makes up words

  • this is not arabic.

  • best of DCD song

  • This is one of the best things I've heard from L. Gerrard.

I'm usually into more of Perry's music... but this is amazing.

  • okok but sounds strange connection these words:)

  • That's the name of the song (at least as listed on some bootlegs; it was released officially as "Swans")

  • And anyway, Brendan is from Ireland

  • Beautiful. Lisa sings in phonetics. No words. Just sounds. But truly amazing

  • i heard long time interview with lisa, and she said its her language-she's making it up improvises ,inspiration was early stadium of making words like sound of her baby...

  • biggunsno1,

    You've obviously gone full retard...

  • How beautiful!!!

  • There are no words in this song. She is simply singing. she is not saying anything. Both lead members attest to this in interview. The intent is not to convey a message, but a mood. She sings the way H.P. Lovecraft wrote: in atmosphere.

  • @eternallyfoxwinter ...and yet i hear her loud and clear

  • @eternallyfoxwinter Very well said!

  • @eternallyfoxwinter

the wordless singing is called "glossolalie" and is a communicative expression

    check dead can dance wikipedia

  • She continues to sing as amazing, I'm humbled and a little envious to hear other humans create such beauty, It wouldn't be as great if we all knew how, or had the opportunity to do the same. She reaches deep and spills it out for every ear and soul. Excellent music.

  • she speaks in tongues . .

she speaks from somewhere where words have no meaning..

  • I wish I knew what she was saying.

  • I think it's a language she makes it up, I'm not sure if it means anything or not

  • It´s a pseudo-language ...

  • @Buddhakrieger Echolalia

  • What a incredible voice... I love it.

  • this is an early incarnation of Swans

  • Her voice is breath taking! I wish I could sing like her....

  • We all wish it :-), don't we?

  • indeed

  • the first time i listen that music i wake up and left the darkness now my soul is pure im in the light.

  • turn it down a notch

  • i like this song, its like calling you but cursing you at the same time. flamengo, tango, singing or mourning. what can i say, i love it.
