  • old UnderOath fucking destroys new UnderOath

  • I'm way glad Underoath stopped making crap like this.

  • @AnalCrumb

Glad? Are you mad? This is their finest work .. ever .. tho this is recorded with the old singer of underoath. But still .. this shit rocks their newest songs .. (and even you can't compare this with their newer albums .. totaly different feelings)

  • @iheartsxe These kids know nothing man. Don't waste your energy with them. They'll never know or understand shit

  • I can't think of a better work out song i don't think this song can be matched

  • fucking love this

  • more in common with melodeath or blackened death

  • @jmrocker there's nothing melodic about this buddy. it's straight to the point, in your face.. crude sound

  • I love the change at 4:04

  • aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • this is some good underoath... their other stuff i heard wasnt anything close to this heavy

  • UNDERØATH*

  • @immersed4christ listen to their album "define the great line" i liked it alot

  • @skylardean - sorry bud but there still is an original. chris dudley is the only original memeber left

  • @INGLORIOUSVictorious Dudley wasn't on Act of Depression... Sorry, no original members left.

  • R.I.P. Old underoath. Never forgotten.

  • OLD UNDERØATH WE MISS YOU SO MUCH

  • Iv always loved this song and always will. Best album by them ever. And in general i think this is on the list of best Metal albums ever made.

  • @TheDeadnightWarior Definitley.

  • This is why I loved underoath back in the day and when they played like the 4th stage at warped tour....... New shit can suck it.

  • Comment removed

  • @skylardean yeah what if we like both? sorry about poking that hole in your theory

  • @skylardean underOATH*

  • @skylardean

I never even listened to UnderOaths newest 3 albums...

  • I like Acts of Depression okay. I love this. I love Changing of Times. They're Only Chasing Safety had a few songs that I liked. Define the Great Line seems okay, I haven't heard a lot of it. I liked Lost In the Sounds of Separation. I really like Disambiguation. Dallas still remains my favorite, though.

  • In an alternate reality in which Dallas Taylor never left Underoath...

    THINK DEEPLY. AND...THOUGHTFULLY.

  • okay.. just a random observation, so i've been watching this anime called "Claymore"... the very beginning of this song is the exact same as some of the audio from the anime.. /watch?v=3Z24XY0S1NU&feature=related go to 15:41. i thought it was pretty weird. this track was out before the anime was made though, i know that.

  • Without this band thier would've never been bands like tdwp or asking Alexandria and etc.. so thank you old underoath :)

  • @pray4plagues100 are you that fucking stupid, so flushed by mainstream shit. you can thank 90's screamo for what you have and what you have is pure shit, bands like Heroin, orchid, crimson curse, Love Lost But Not Forgotten, anasarca, in/humanity

  • lol used to cover this song with my boys back in high school. still play it to this day.

  • Dang i havent heard this song in a while dope song ha :D

  • this song is so intense.. Dallas Taylor's screams are so raw and emotional.. they touch your soul

  • dood why don't we hear guitar playing like this beastly in the new stuff

  • @FloatingFireworks theres no remaining members of this underoath in the current... sad.

  • @spaschal11 Oh I see. Yeah It's a real bummer. The new stuff is good but this just had so much potential.

  • this is true underoath, not that bullshit as now!!!!!

  • a cd so many people dont even know about or acts of depression for that matter.

    fucking epic song

  • In 2000 they wrote every little overused deathcore riff you hear today.

  • i picture the keyboard at the beggining as a girl singing high pitch it makes it seem even kooler P:

  • WHERE DID OUR OLD UNDEROATH GO WE MISS YOU. WE NEED MORE ADRENALINE PUMPING MUSIC NOT THIS NEW SHIT THAT SOUND LIKE GIRLS CANT FIND A FUCKING TAMPON WWWWTTTTTTTTTTFFFFFFFF

  • This song owns any newer UO song...By far...This is real shit not fucking crying like a pussy in their newer shit.

  • @itsallgood239 agreed... they're definitely missing aaron and that old music talent! its too instrumental now and not even fierce like this shit! this is by far their best song to play on guitar too

  • 3:22 one of the most intense moments in music

  • i talked my brother into learning the intro on his guitar

  • @randomface12 just learned it like 5 minutes ago haha not nearly as hard as i thought itd be

  • whoa i miss this band..

  • here I am at the end

this wall that blocked you out for so long opens wide

and I begin to burn from the inside

    I'll never forget that night

the night Jesus Christ made the blackness white

  • From there oldest album to the most recent album their is a huge sound difference. even the changing of times sounds way different from this stuff. personally I like the newer stuff but man under oath has sure changed from when they were first together.... no original members now.

  • @BlueFluidStudios yeah Underoath isnt Underoath lol their oldest member is the keyboardist from the second album, hence why they sound completly different. This is black metal and now their post hardcore

  • @Guitaristscreamer Yeah I know, kinda funny how they have no original members.

  • @BlueFluidStudios Yeah its like how can they still have the same name when theyre not even similar at all

  • The Changing of Times saved my life and helped me find God <3 Underoath is just amazing...Paper Lung is good too :D hahahaha love this harder oldstuff but i love all their albums

  • man.. i've been brought back to my teenage years. thinking back, how the FUCK did the change from THIS to THAT???

  • UnderOath overall is awesome!

  • This is the same Underoath as the one i am thinking about??! This is 10x better then what they are now if so.

  • If only we played this at church.

Just imagine walking in during service and everyone is headbanging and the singer singing like this.

    Bad ass man

  • I hate just about all modern metalcore, but I won't deny when a band pulls it off good. Underoath pulled it off briliantly. Easily my favorite modern metalcore album.

  • @psudeoaccount modern day this was off an album released in like 2000

  • @Ryanunderoath Metalcore back in the 80's had a different definition than it does today, which is why I use the term modern metalcore. I generally refer to modern as anything from the 2000's.

  • Was looking for blackened metalcore (if it exists) and someone suggested this. It sounds waaaay better than new Underoath.

  • hardcore inspirational christian music.

    Thank God!

  • They dont even deserve to have the name underoath anymore. that name should have died after their first 2 EPs

  • @thursday1134 Act of Depression and Cries of the Past are not EPs, so far Underoath don't have any EPs out yet

  • Disambiguation was the biggest disappointment ever. It was terrible. I can't stand Underoath without Aaron Gillespie. It's depressing, really.

  • Look, guys. I love Cries of the Past and Act of Depression just as much as I do Define the Great Line and They're Only Chasing Safety. I appreciate ALL of it. They are all very talented musicians, even after the departure of all the founding members.

  • THE BEST OBVIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!

  • This was definetely their best album. "thier only chasing safety" was bad, but the albums after that are just downright cringefull. I recently bought "disambiguation" and it made me cry it was so awfull.

  • @bernie6127 I think you're being too harsh. TOCS was good, and so is Disambiguation. But their first 3 albums definitely surpass.

  • i just can chillin' right now

  • @GUNITsoldieification which was when Cries of the Past came out

  • I used to fuck to this song back in high school. Its a shame they didnt keep this sound

  • 2:15 is fucking beast

  • Chasing Safety sucked. DTGL, and on was sick. It blew this old stuff away. It has nothing to do with "scene" kids, it has to do with they are overall better albums.

  • @michaelmannucci

    Better produced album

    Not as ballsy though

  • @michaelmannucci Because of the huge genre-shift, it really comes down to taste. I just like the melodeath in the older Underoath stuff more than the ___core stuff in the later ones, and I do not like Spencer's voice... at all.

  • holy shit the intro is amazing.

  • @gnrldfreak09 i soo agree

  • @gnrldfreak09 You should hear the intro to cries of the past :D The best lol

  • 4th song I've heard from Underoath, and proud to still be a fan ;)

(BTW, the first 2 were from They're Only Chasing Safety, and the 3rd was from Lost In The Sounds of Separation)

It's a good thing I know what's good..... And whats EPIC.

  • @jedimasterviewtifjoe no. What people need to understand is that race has nothing to do with the kind of person you are, like/dislikes or all the rest. I'm black and rock/metal is my favorite genre. The only reason a lot of black people do not like it and listen to rap and stuff is b/c that is how they grew up. It has nothing to do with race at all.

I just wish more people would understand that and stop being so ignorant about stuff... race means nothing more than the color of your skin.

  • @TheEpicHeart lol. cool. but i grew up trying to be a thug and all that but i heard metal and it appealed more than rap.

  • @TheEpicHeart amen im white and i have friends that are black with white souls lol i shot you now i know a guy that is black and sound 100% white redneck

  • @TheEpicHeart it has everything to do with race, for the exact reason you listed. race defines culture, music is unique to certain cultures. metal is the white mans game, accept it or live in denial

  • @lethalityoverflow lol, alright. You're either a troll or you're pretty ignorant.... either way, I don't have much to say to you. If thats what you really believe then... power to you.

    Cheers, mate.

  • @TheEpicHeart Your so right!!! Im white but I dont think that at all. Look at Howard Jones. He is the lead singer of Killswitch Engage and he is back.

  • @TheEpicHeart Your so right!!! Im white but I dont think that at all. Look at Howard Jones. He is the lead singer of Killswitch Engage and he is black.

  • @IROCK80551 Can't forget Adam from Oceano!

  • @TheAtomicLad1996 Oh yeah! That dude is awesome on the vocals!

  • @lethalityoverflow

Culture, simply put, is just the way your race lives and has lived for years, and years, and years.

Im black/white, and listen to straight up metal (In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Scar Symmetry, KSE, All That Remains, etc.)

You're part right though. Music was created based on the surrounding cultures they originated from.

Metal may be the white man's game, but everyone else plays.

  • @lethalityoverflow yeah, because metal bands don't exist in every part of the world regardless of cultural heritage or skin color. oh wait, they do.

  • @TheEpicHeart Is that you Morgan Freeman? lol

  • @TheEpicHeart Whether you choose to acknowledge it or not, race is the reason. And you just stated my reasoning perfectly. Its the way they were raised, ie, meaning that because they were black, and growing up in a black community (racial barrier), is the reason they act, listen, or talk the same way. Its just culture. Just because you're a minority of your race doesn't change the facts. I'm no racist, i'm just stating culture has an impact no matter if your white, black, red or pink.

  • Is it weird that im black and only listens to metal like this, aild, tdwp, impending doom, demon hunter, attack attack, abr, and whoever else?

  • @jedimasterviewtifjoe No, your just cool bro, ha ha.

  • @jedimasterviewtifjoe have you ever heard of the bands: Suffocation, Animals As Leaders, God Forbid, Killswitch Engaged, Evile, Oceano, Bad Brains...etc. The list can go on and on....All those bands Great and have black members and the genres range from death metal to punk. Do you still think its weird?

  • @pmickel7 Yep. I think I heard of more though. I know it's not weird, but it's just not typical.

  • I LOVE YOU UNDEROATH YOU COMPLETE MY LIFE!!!!!

  • Once they made "They're Only Chasing Safety" Underoath officially lost me as a fan. Nothing against Spencer, though. Just...the band went screamo, and their overall style sank so low...I can't look myself in the mirror and say they're still the same band that drove me to learn to scream.

Cries of the Past is when Underoath was a force to be reckoned with. Changing of Times was a little watered down, but still good. But that was the last album that I could call myself an Underoath fan....

    R.I.P

  • @blackwingangel04 dude listen to like a divine eradication, vacant mouth, or my deteriorating incline off of diambiguation. i do agree that tocs was screamo/emo. but it was still good. but now that aaron left they are a lot more metalcore. you should check it out.

  • does anyone know where to get cries of the past and act of depression i cant find them at any record stores

  • @MrJakethesnake208 no lo fabricaron mas...no lo vas a encontrar...

  • @MrJakethesnake208 you can look on ebay, sometimes the albums are there...I keep looking but they always go around 100 bucks each at the end of the auction...

  • "Walking Away" and the title track

    Best songs off this album

  • This is seriously one of my favorite songs ever!

  • being only 16, i think it's pretty ironic that literally the ONLY underoath i know is OLD underoath, literally. i was really young when my brothers lived at home with me, and this is what i grew up on, ever since i could remember i was listening to underoath with them. not to sound like i'm kissing my own ass or anything, but i'm glad my brothers spoiled me with good music like this, if i grew up in this new era of underoath, god knows what i would do.

  • wtf, the beginning of the song sounds like shoes??

  • i saw these old albums for sale on ebay at like $100.

  • @henrydolly777 Its because there not issued anymore I actually really think they should re-issue them both act of depression and Cries of the past I have all there albums but the first 2 are from limewire all the other I bought.

  • @TylerWilliams1851 Aaron was the original, Dallas said in an interview that when they formed they got Aaron.

  • this is real underoath i respect the music they make now but spencer uhh needz help on how he screams.your not supposd to use vocals WHILE SCREAMING.and no im not talking about aaron.im saying spencer screams wrong.!!!!

  • @underoathfan4lyfe Spencer has 10x the talent as Dallas, in my opinion. buuuuuuuuuuutttt, you really cannot compare them. Old UO and Dallas wrote heavier music so Dallas blended well because he has good gnarly growls. New UO and Spencer write more melodic music so Spencer has to be more diverse and universal.

  • ahhh love it

  • Every song on cries of the past is epic!

Love the beginning! Gets my adrenaline pumping :)

  • Yay! old Underoath... Very, very good record... I love all of the records by them... From the Act of Depression to Disambiguation... Loving Theyre Only Chasing Safety, loving this... You guys are very close-minded... Underoath, both new and old pwns

  • The Changing of the Times was a kickass album too

  • i like new Underoath better but i love old underoath, and no i'm not a scene kid and no i don't think their only chasing safty was there best album actually it was their worst.

  • love this song, it's great.

  • and before somebody decides to toss a brick at me for what I said, the first Underoath I head was Giving Up Hurts The Most. I heard this stuff first, and I reckon all their material is good.

  • geez why do you all hate on the new stuff. the band has progressed so much, all their records have been good, just different. their progression over the albums:

    Metal -> Melodic Metal -> Melodic Metal with Screamo/Punk elements -> Screamo/Punk -> Screamo/Punk with Metalcore elements, Metalcore Screamo/Punk elements -> Metalcore

They haven't 'sold out' at all, they have just developed. yes they've changed a lot, but they've had ages to do so, one would expect it.

  • ahaha weird thing is that i got introduced to underoath after that fourth album, I soon started listening to the album before this, then i heard "watch me die" and i was like.. Whoaa O.O why dont they sound like this now?!?!?! Old underoath is WAY better than the new shit, even though i dont mind the new shit, just prefer the older stuff

  • favorite part is from 5:00 all the way to the end. so sick!

  • @TylerWilliams1851 he was original in the sense that he has recorded every single album they've had. Members that are out of a band before they record anything are almost never counted since almost all bands have had that happen =P

  • In honor and anticipation of Underoath's upcoming album Disambiguation being released on November 9, 2010, prjunky.com wants to know with all the changes with the band throughout the years, how long have you been a fan for? What turned you on to listen to Underoath? Have their songs impacted you in any way? Let us know by leaving your comments on prjunky.com to share with everyone. Be sure to take our quick poll.

    Thanks,

    Danny B.

  • I give this whole album an 11 out of 10!

  • @TylerWilliams1851 Hmmz I guess so.

  • @TylerWilliams1851 Hmmmz well in acuallity,he is.I checked since Aaron was from 1997,which is the year Underoath formed

  • Underoath is one of the greatest Metalcore bands to exist. However,I only praise their old work, especially Cries of the Past.all their new work is okay, but it isn't the same,I mean COME ON.WHY IS EVERY MEMBER OF THAT BAND FROM THE ORIGINAL LINE UP LEAVING?!

  • Every time some scene kid says their fourth album was the best, I feel like smacking them across the face with that album and giving this album. Seriously, it's sad when someone says they are a "fan" and know them by anything after the album that made them famous, yet dismiss this earlier stuff like this, or more so when they say "wtf, there voclist is horibel and he goes arrr ad chasing safety si they're best ablum evar, progreshin"! It angers me everyday to tears when I hear that.

  • @venusfly9108 Also, don't take it personal.

  • @venusfly9108 Sorry but the first three albums sucked dick

  • @MegaDethRulezd00d Says the guy who likes TDWP.

  • @venusfly9108 hey hey hey i love TDWP but i think Dallas taylors CDs are the best! TDWP is really good though

  • @KingOfTheOzone94 But they are influenced by underoath from what I've heard, and like most bands, their influence is better than them. Just my opinion. Plus, Steger can play a solo and riffs better than most metalcore bands.

  • @venusfly9108 TDWP is influenced by underoath but dont really sound that simmilar, and yes Steger does play one mean guitar haha

  • @MegaDethRulezd00d Honestly, I don't even like the third album anymore.

  • @venusfly9108 atleast they like underoath and not something mundane like slutty minaj or little wayne. oh and all of underoaths albums are great. some may prefer older vs newer but its just opinions. stick to what you like and they will stick to what they like. i think its only unfair of these stupid scene kids if they dismiss the old stuff completely then they are in the wrong, without old underoath they wouldnt have new underoath (oh and scene kids suck anyways so why listen to them)

  • @venusfly9108 even though this is my favorite album by them (and i like the new underoath too i just view them as a different band entirely) this album didnt make them famous

  • @emkabransam Well, they shouldn't have been famous because now people call them emo. Well, at least they've done better.

  • @venusfly9108 I like their new stuff a lot, but I also like their old stuff a lot. But honestly They're Only Chasing Safety is one of my favorites.

  • @venusfly9108 lolol angers you to tears, someone has anger problems.

  • @rioamericanosucks It was meant to be a joke really.

  • @venusfly9108 heard chasing safety first, and when i discovered this song, i shit my pants.

  • @venusfly9108 lol angers you to tears? take a chill pill bud, fuck them. let them be trendy wanna-be pussies. We know where its at with the roots!

  • @venusfly9108 That comment was AMAZING! lol

  • @venusfly9108

Learn not to care about what others think, it works wonders on shit like this. I like their first album, but like their newer shit better, and I'm not bashing you because you like their first album. Just listen to the fucking song...

  • @venusfly9108 You can still be a fan and not like the older stuff, personally I don't like there older stuff and I like the fourth album, but that's just my opinion. A fan is anyone who listens to there music often and enjoys it no matter what album its from.

  • Old underoath > New Underoath, this is the underoath that everyone should have grown to know.

  • @wolffang200 anyone who matters stopped growing with them in 2003

  • This was more like 11 years ago because it was released in 1999 before they signed with Solid State Records.

  • @Rawk4Life it was released july 4th, 2000 when they were signed with takehold records, which solid state owns

  • I'm so glad I learned how to play this song on guitar

  • kvlt

  • this part is so sick 6:17

  • @TheOldUnderoath

coreys in a solo project called Symmety point, octavio is in At the Wake.

is there another band with them together? what is it?

  • sounds like shoes???????WTF when does it sound like shoes :/ :/ :s :S

  • octavia is so good.....does anyone know if he is doin anythin

  • I don't listen to their new stuff, but I'm curious, are they playing old stuff with their new singer?

  • @VarnaHC I don't believe so.

  • im seeing Underoath live @ House of Blues on Tuesday for Cool Tour...its goanna be sick

  • symmetry point is Coreys new band

  • UnderOath has changed so much, from their style of music and members

  • the most intense song i have ever heard and one of my top favorties.

  • If only underoath was still this good. But, alas, they booted Dallas for his drug problem and kind of wussified after this album

  • @kablammy1 no, Dallas has never had a drug problem xDD

  • @coolcooja My mistake lol. Still miss him in this band though.

  • holy shit underoath actually is worth listening to lol i love this shit they need to be like this again i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Whoever thought Underoath was so....Metal.
