The activity in Christchurch has really subsided from a peak, say around 2005. We visited LA over Christmas and it was unbelievable! There were so many "sorties" coming in from all angles, it was frightening. Contrails? no way. The planes would target a weird cloud formation, turn the trail on and off without changing altitude. Jet engines generally stay on during flights.
as usual no one who does know tells the public for definate wot they r for, could just be a lazer projection for laying trails in an exact heading and direction? or could be a laer to condition the space in some way or to interact with/affect the composition of the trail, its almost like a region of greyed/darkened space like the opposite of a light beam, a dark beam, im guessing some kinda wave/particle beam that effects light absorbsion among other things in the path of the 'beam'
Like the 'Square / Rectangle' shape upper-left at 11 o'clock from the grid-tower at 2:17. Never seen THAT before !
