I actually find it stupid that the city council got rid of the trollys. They were the stupid ones to make Hybird buses with Trolly line attachments, then took all the wiring down. I miss the trollys quiet, comfortable and easy on the enviroment...and yet the city wants US to make everything more eco-friendly? I'm sorry but how does taking away trollys to replace them with disel buses make Edmonton Eco-friendly?
I miss the nice new trolley they had on loan from Vancouver, before they decided to scrap the trolleys altogether. That was a nice bus, very smooth ride. Nice-looking too, none of the orange seats like on the old trolley-buses.
20 or 30 years from now when diesel and gas fuel become hideously expensive to use, they may just regret scrapping the trolleys. But that's city council for ya.
The new buses looks almost like the new vancouver trolley buses with the seats and that wall covering the front behind the driver. I saw painted lady a couple weeks ago at South Campus TC parked for some reason. The sign said "Special" so it might of been on Charter.
HEY edmonton mayor why not take a look at vancouver's example, they had trollley service since 1982 and is still running, instead of just fasing out the system cause of old trolleys we got new trolleys!
Trolley service is currently scheduled to end in April 2010. Actual removal of the overhead is currently scheduled to stretch into 2011. City council actually voted to take away funding for trolley overhead removal in the 2009 budget (though, that hasn't stopped ETS from tearing down the remainder of Highlands).
The city is most likely not getting hybrid buses, they are now saying they can get 66 diesel buses instead, either way, they are to arrive in spring 2010, around April. Once they come, they will replace the trolleys.

The picture 0:53 to 0:58 is perfect! High gas prices and a D40LFR.

Disgusting. I would not be surprised if your city council was in the pockets of the oil and gas companies! Surprised this happened in Canada.

For a real miracle, how about you actually make a comment that's logical, gramatically correct and contains no spelling errors.

And the reason they are on Painted Lady, is because people like them when they were on #6000.
