That's awesome. The only trick my basset seems to want to learn is "Sit" and "Get in your chair". He also knows "no" but that's not really a trick. lol

I had a dachshund I taught to do that and we had to put him down because he broke his back... I would suggest to stop doing this to your baby immediately from past bad experiences. Me and my husband now have a basset which we are very cautious with about his long back.

One of my Bassets sits up like that all the time and doesn't look for a reward. I can't stop her and just hope it doesn't do her any harm!

She sits up to see what's on the dinner table and to look out of the window but does it at odd times like the other dau when we were walking in the park and I called the two Bassets back with some treats and immediately Lottie was up on her bum, much to the amusement of other people who were out walking!!!

Be careful of your Basset Hound's back making her sit for too long as it's easily damaged with them being so long!

One of my Bassets, who is a bit shorter than my other one, sits up like that but I'm always careful with her and never force her to do it as I would hate her to fall over and twist herself!

rich is right don't make her sit-up very much, just like a dachshund their backs are too long. I had to have 2 bassets "put-down" because of the pain they had in their backs. Don't let them get overweight either that weight pulling down is hard on the back.

With that being said, enjoy your dog, bassets are the best!

`Stay` is `MATE` in Japanese.

`Begging` is `TYOU-DAI` in Japanese.
