If i was a Bulldog the last thing I'd be doing is talking shit about a program you all have only beaten twice since 1990. Damn that must be embarrassing...
yeah but give me a break, rename the heisman after tebow? no. even if tebow played for UGA i'd still think stafford has a much better arm, but yeah he's good for florida's type offense
Of course I don't think they should name the award after him, that would be a little too much. To say that he has a much better arm depends on what you are talking about....to you mean arm strength cuz I doubt Stafford has a stronger arm, and I've personally watched tebow throw the ball extremely far....Stafford is the prototypical QB that has the right delivery...that I would agree with.
I believe the CORRECT answer, was a number 1 pick in the draft.... Can't wait to see Tebow be a fourth stringer in the NFL and drop out of it within 3 years, can you?
Hahaha i love that uga fans have nothing else to cling to anymore than what will happen in the NFL to Tebow!!! Who cares? they're two different games. I enjoy college football b/c it is different and the money hasn't completely ruined it yet, ie. you can still listen to most of the games on radio without paying for it. shut up uga we own you and you can't deny that!!!!
@ugafan93 That's pathetic. Why can't you just wish the man well? I didn't like Matthew Stafford in college but i'm not waiting for him to fall and holding a grudge just because he's from Georgia. You can't beat us, so now you're gonna hope our guys do poorly in the NFL? Is that all you have left to hang your hat on? Eric Berry is one of the best safeties i've ever watched and i'm not gonna deny that just because he played for a rival school. If a guy is good he's just good. Grow up dude.
I will never forget Spurrier! He won the Heisman my freshman year but I had followed him since he was a sophomore. He was part of what we called the "cardiac kids". After all, after leading us back agaist Auburn, I got to watch him kick a 40 yd field goal to beat em! When he came back to coach he made us forget how we were suppossed to loose to Ga. Graves started the revolution, Pell got us into the national limelight and the "ole ball coach: made us a national power...
Wuerffel teams went 12-1 twice and his teams were national champion and runner up. They also went undefeated in conference play as well. He undoubtedly deserved the consideration for a Heisman Trophy. Tebow's only team he has led thus far went 9-4 ( 3 sec defeats and a bowl loss ) I do not understand exactly what he did in 07 to deserve it? Doesnt team success count towards receiving the heisman anymore in this day and age?
actually dude, the heisman is not a team award so no, team records don't count towards the heisman. yes leadership is a huge part of it and he didn't lead them to a one loss season, but simply the fact that tim tebow broke so many records and had fifty two touchdowns total more than justifies his deserved win.
there have been heisman trophy winners with losing records before. the heisman has never been and will never be a team trophy... thats what the national championship is suppose to decide.
I (very respectfully) disagree. Steve did fly to New York along with Ray Graves and President Reitz where he (Spurrier) presented the trophy to Dr. Reitz. It was shown on the sports news, etc. and was in the newspapers but there was no live TV coverage of the Heisman back then.
I didn't forget Spurrier. When Spurrier won the Heisman, it was not on television and there was not such thing as a VCR or anything else to record video from TV. Spurrier won the Heisman when I was a freshman at UF. He was one of my heros growing up and still is. He was the first H. winner to give his trophy to the school. After Spurrier the Heisman Trust started awarding 2 trophis, one for the winner and one for the school.

What good did Stafford's arm do with a healthy Tim Tebow? Answer, 49-10.

When you run and throw for 52 TDs in one year, you not only deserve the Heisman, but they should rename the award in honor of you.

Spurrier never received the Heisman Trophy in New York, he was informed when he was in Gainesville. That's why there's no footage.
