Get the one that feels better in your hands. Whichever grips better in your hands. I will say one thing I haven't really found a big use yet for the tilt screen. Also consider that the 500d may have 1080 but its really a crippled 1080 that is not really worth shooting in.
And anyways, I don't see the point in making videos with reflex cameras... If you're not into buisness, you're not going to need it and if you are you're going to need a serious video camera..
@sixtx Actually nothing could be further from the tRuth. Because of their huge sensors DSLRs are becoming more popular to shoot movies with then Camcorders. Some of the skits on SNL are even filmed with DSLRs now and for Independent movie shooters its a dream come true. A DSLR can get better results or about the same as a $5K camcorder now. Not to mention the different Lents we can attach. Also the little advantages like being more compact.
I do too can't stand the shaking I actually ordered a Tripod but it got there like 3 days after the video was made. I am not going to wait 3 days just to do an unboxing.
I got it @ Costco total price with tax and everything $1,035.78 they have some sort of sale going on right now $200 off or something. I know you can find better deals on amazon with much more extras I just don't like waiting.
Everything you just said is 100% truth. I loved the D60 and would still be using it. People who use my camera though were bitching about the non live-view function. That is why I moved upto the D5000. Canon always tempts me as well with the higher specs I just don't find the shape of their cameras as comfortable for my hand plus some other minor quirks.
Nice choice! I have the D60 as well, but I'm probably going to skip the D5000 and wait for the D7000 (assuming that's what they call the D90 successor).
And I agree, Nikon is the better camera from a photograher's perspective (usability and in-camera JPEG conversion), but Canon tends to be the spec and value champ.
which version you bought?
