  • Lol the first 3 made me laugh so hard, I just wrote this comment and left.

  • XR749 an F3 Lightning interceptor managed mach 2.3 as well.

  • space shuttle?

  • song sucks

  • youtube is for videos faggot...dislike

  • All the fighter / Interceptors are fast when 'clean', start adding Fuel drop tanks, missiles and bombs and they'll struggle to push Mach 1

  • The music sux. I have a hint, everyone: Press "MUTE" before it starts.

  • THe SR-71 Blackbird was not a fighter (although it was a derivative from the YF-12 interceptor project of the 70s). If you're going to name aircraft, use the correct ones.

  • @angelisreal I scrolled down to point that out, also. thanks.

  • Scramjets do not count >.> find me one thats carried a person.

  • @nakedfrog several. But you don't have the clearance to know about them! Donuts on a rope are all over the skies these days. Those are manned aircraft.

  • @Billthesheepdog"Donuts on a rope"? You mean aircraft with pulse-detonation engines? If so, yeah they are out there and have been for at least 25 years but they are still classified and secret. Have you looked into the SR-95, TR-3B etc,? Compared to those, even secret aircraft like the Aurora that use Pulse-detonation engines are outdated.

  • what about the xb-70 mach 3.0 still fast

  • @rabbitn17 erm either you cant read or you blind but i saw that craft at 2:49 on the video so unless your a fool its there and he didnt miss putting it in

  • @SRSpoony Calm Down. Easy. Must have missed it, no need for the aggression.

  • acording to lockheed and nasa ... SR-71 have never been testet to its limits and as as i know it still holds the world record for a airplane that can take off and land by it self ...

  • @mperen1979 It has been tested to its limits, according to Ben Rich. Any faster and compressor blades would begin melting.

  • What about concorde??

  • @Hitchos2 try at the start of the video

  • No Mate Mach 3.2 ( i think), is the SR71's maximun speed

  • Isn't SR-71 the fastest? It can hit speeds of Mach 4.0 from when I last heard. That's when it's at high altitudes though.

  • the migs could only visit those speeds then they ate themselves. besides you cant turn at high speed (ie: dog fight) and todays missles will over take you. so whats the point of all this cock stroking junior?

  • number 7 looks alot like SR-71

  • first thing, only aircraft that are air breathing can be counted, no rockets

they must be manned and the top speed should be the top speed at flat speed not on a vertical drop because that would be terminal velocity + a bit of power.

  • The really impressive thing about the Blackbird (still the fastest air cunsuming aircraft) is not the pure top speed but the average speed.

The Mig25 could do Mach 3.2 with a high possibility damaging the engine so it was used for flying Mach 2.9 for several minutes.

In contrary the Blackbird could do Mach 3.3 for hours with a limitaion only in fuel.

  • @1337Jogi

    MiG-25 - SERIAL high-altitude interceptor

    Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird - scout

    The difference you feel?

  • @yoshitoranaga1111 Only half true. As of the sources i know it was desgined for 2 purposes.

    -High speed reconnaissance

-High speed interceptor for countering the A-12 (YF-12 Interceptor)and SR-71

Problem was, that it was (although fast) a lot slower than his aims and the range was not big enough for a true scout.

Dont say its a bad plane but i could not mess with the SR-71. Russia knew that their high tech could not mess with US so they produced huge numbers everywhere.

  • @1337Jogi ox cart

  • SR-71 is fastest, mate. The next three don't exist and the X-15 is a rocket. Your song is terrible, fortunately my keyboard has a mute button.

  • @elderkis A-12 went faster than the SR-71 and holds the record for fastest (turbine powered) manned aircraft.

X-43 is the fastest plane ever made so far, and is turbine powered.

Sorry to tell you mate, but you don't know what you're talking about.

  • Mach 9.6 is too fast. if you were to fly the last plane you could die. that speed is definetly from alien technology. And they;ve probably built faster ones now, that are hidden.

  • @trainpurple you know so little about physics yet you talk like you do

a human could go at any speed (100.000.000mph for example) if you control the acceleration

so mach 10 is a piece of cake

even space shuttle is faster than that

  • @Sejo323 any speed up till the speed of light. nothing can go faster than the speed of light, thats basic physics.

  • @nj4ck even that is being questioned now

if you've heard about those neutrinos which were faster than light but they weren't sure if that was correct. Now they repeated the experiment and got the same results.

    At CERN Geneva.

PM me and ill send you link to the article

  • ya, the classified the YF-12 or the test prototype of the SR-71 as an "intercept aircraft" not a fighter. the SR-71, once assigned a role for service was a "strategic reconnaissance aircraft."

  • the YF-12 or Blackbird was not a fighter nor was it designed as such. at the time it actually flew faster than any air to air ordinance. it was made to fly above enemy radar and faster than any SAM that might be shot at it. if im not mistaken i dont think any were ever shot down unless they had a mechanical problem beforehand.

  • @REBELsst 12 were destroyed due to mechanical failure. The U-s is now used in placed of the SR-71, cost less. lol

  • @REBELsst Actually, the YF-12 was envisioned as a high speed high altitude interceptor. Hench the "F" designation. You are correct that the aircraft was too fast for the ordinance available in those days. No SR-71 was ever taken down by the Soviets (at least not officially).

  • @OnePonyDriver Oops. "Hense".

  • i thought the sr71 chould go faster

  • X-Wing is fastest

  • @SuperContez A-wings were faster lol

  • LockHead SR-71 BlackBird is the fastest manned aircraft there is, mach 3+ its true power is classified. it is no longer used.

  • @ToxicDiNoGames x-15?

  • @titykaka1 sadly the x-15 was made sometime in the 60's. the SR-71 in the 70's. Now the x-15 does not technically have a "pilot" for the x-15 uses the rocket to keep altitude until landing. You cant maneuver the aircraft like a plane. The fastest made aircraft is a NASA Scramjet. Mach 10+

  • @ToxicDiNoGames sr 71 was introduced in 66

and the blackbird uses its engines to keep altitude and you can manoeuvre the x15 as they had to land it

  • @titykaka1 dont try to correct me, the blackbird was (introduced) in 64, but wasnt used late 60's to the 90's. The Blackbird still holds the record for the fastest manned aircraft. after you get past mach 4 to 5 you body will not withstand the G's.

  • @ToxicDiNoGames but wasnt used until**

  • @ToxicDiNoGames no the x-15 has the record for fastest manned aircraft...

  • @ToxicDiNoGames Speed has no relations to 'G's'. Acceleration applies G-force (this includes changing direction). When Astronauts re-enter the earth's atmosphere, they are initially traveling about 18,000 mph. Keep in mind that Mach means the speed of sound which gets slower as you go higher until you reach the vacuum of space where no one can hear you scream. ;)

  • @ToxicDiNoGames If your assertation that no one could survive past mach 4 or 5 were true, not one single astronaut would have survived being launched into earth orbit.

  • @OnePonyDriver The shuttle flew in excess of Mach 8 on descent. It did north of Mach 5 on ascent.

  • @bayushizero The Space Shuttle is not an aircraft. Aircraft cannot operate in the vacuum of outer space. On ascent it uses rocket engines, and it glides on descent. The SR-71 and the YF-12 variant are acknowledged as the world's fastest "aircraft".

  • @ToxicDiNoGames I believe that both the X-15 and SR-71 first flew in the 60's.

  • Comment removed

  • mute

  • fu nasa

  • delta wing is nise but when dog fighting its not good at all sorry now wings are gone look at new planes comming into service soon you will bug when you see them wow

  • boeing 2707 goes 2.7 mach...

  • BRING BACK THE AVRO ARROW

  • htv-2 went mach 23 in september

  • You could make the SR-71 more dynamic if you lowered the passenger cockpit by 4.62 cms.

  • This video overstates the speed of f-15 and su-27. Mig-25 couldn't operate practically at its top speed, the 31 was faster.

It's also pointless to rank them by Mach number because they're designed to fly at different altitudes. Mach 2 at 20,000 feet is faster than mach 2.1 at 40,000 feet. Better to list their speed in kph.

  • Kinda looks like the Avro Arrow

  • haha fastest jets from the 1980s. i bet now adays they got mach 10 and upp. no doubt

  • @j23araluce Actualy most jets ( that we know of anyway) have slowed down. The f22 and 35 arent even capable of mach 2. There is talk of the aurora project but thats all conspiricy stuff, none of it is proven.

  • First plane they show is a Mirage???? I laughed, left this comment, and left.

  • The goverment made a mistake. They claimed the SR-71 cruises at Mach 3.2, yet I know a fighter which cruises at Mach 3.4.

  • Space Shuttle was the fastest. And the SR-71 was "Mach 3.32+"......

  • As a matter of fact, since the SR71 was fired at using SAMS we KNOW it has to be faster than Mach 3.3> They are NEVER going to tell us the true top speed. It would be foolish to give up ANY secret no matter how obsolete an aircraft is deemed to be. And the Foxbat was later demoted from its "reported" mach 3.2 claims. Much less a plane than a couple of engines with weapons and pilot. It was poor in a dog fight because it was an interceptor but very vulnerable to US aircraft. The USSR was nothing.

  • @ghfakar Agreed about the reported 3.2 on the Mig however vunerable to u.s aircraft? Not really. It was (as you know) used as an interceptor , it's prime role was to take down the valkery supersonic bombers) The u.s made a mistake in thinking it was an air superiority fighter and thus built the f 15 to combat it, probably the best plane to ever get built on a misinterpritation. When used as an interceptor ( as per its role) it was untouchable. Nobody could catch the damn thing.

  • Ah but the most important point. The Soviets have trouble even keeping their aircraft in the air. Failures from power plants and other factors make them much less the aircraft than the American jets. The F15 has shot down EVERY type of soviet (major that is) aircraft that matters. While NEVER being lost in a firefight. The F22 which I noticed missing can hit the speed of sound WITHOUT the use of an after burner My guess is we don't know the top speed. Oh, the SR71 was OVER mach 3.3. We know it.

  • The silver variant of the SR-71 Blackbird was initially a CIA prototype that came out first and then the air force got the REAL final product, which was the black plane obviously know as the Blackbird and had higher performance capabilities. It's the fastest jet powered aircraft built. The other planes are either space craft or planes powered by rocket engines.Still, despite having been retired for the second time, the Blackbird still holds the record the jet powered aircraft to this day.

  • @erebus38 so the silver version is the silverbird

  • blackbird isnt a fighter , its recon.

  • @Lennyblunden Black is SR-71, YF-12 is fighter,SR-71 is developed from YF-12

  • u missed a few planes, the haunebu disccraft of nazi germany and the X-15, it could fly over 7.500 km/h

  • Spaceshuttle ????? Mach 27 at entry, and flyes like a normal plane ???

  • the blackbird is the fastest because the last ones are or not real yet or rockets

  • @maaktnieuit1

number 2 is a airplane and not a rocket, and number 1 is a variant on the real experemantel airplane its based on

  • Horrible music.

  • Blinking slide show - too blinking long - awful muzak

  • why did they show the blackbird 2 times?

  • @User14k there are two types of blackbirds

the yf 12 and the legendary sr-71 (also the beginning of area 71

and the blackbirds awesomeness cannot be placed on one place

  • @DeathHammer1994 the Lockheed SR-71 is by far the fastest. It's suppose to be #1 not 7.

  • The top end of the SR-71 is still classified. Theoretically, it has no top speed.

  • the last four are not aircarfts thoese are rokets

  • First off, learn to spell. Second who cares if they are rocket propelled? They are still dependent upon wings or a lifting body design to stay in the air. There is a long tradition of using rockets to power aircraft, often not successfully, but still, a history. As for some of them being UAVs, big deal, they are still aircraft designed to be used and operated inside an atmosphere.

  • The ending in stooped

  • It should have been fastest manned aircraft. Thinks like the X-51 are little more than rocket UAVs

  • @colbro2009 I do agree the music blows tho...

  • @colbro2009 the guy that posted this isn't American...

  • More crap music to accompany a video , why do americans think this SHIT Music and singing is COOL?.

Get something a little original instead of CRAP ROCK and HEaVY Metal.

  • @colbro2009 jokes on you, in america we dont care what you like.... hahahahahaha!

  • @denverJPUE : But you dont Disagree , pmsfl ( piss my self for laughing ).

  • @colbro2009 indeed

  • ну и бред!!!!

  • its so frustrating when you look for aircraft videos and these are just goddamn slides

  • Space Shuttle only goes that fast when gliding in from orbit- not powered.

  • cool. The x-15 is actually a spaceship. The pilots earned astronautwings flying it.

  • Did you really just classify a YF-12 as a fighter?

  • @GreatWhite85 The YF-12 was originally designed as a Mach 3+ interceptor; at that time, the USSR didn't have any aircraft equivalent to the XB-70, so the program was eventually cancelled. The Hughes radar system and the AIM-47 missiles were further developed and later became part of the armament and fire control systems of the F-14 Tomcat.

  • @nowhereman841 Yeah, but you see that's an interceptor, not a fighter. I did however not know they designed it to intercept other aircraft. I was always under the impression that the early Blackbird designs tossed around the idea of an on-board missile system for ICBM's and/or anti-satellite capabilities. Did not know it was for other aircraft. Thanks for the reply, man.

  • @GreatWhite85 Yeah, the Phoenix missile for the F-14 was developed for the SR-71 but implemented in the F-14. Mach 5+

  • @GreatWhite85 Anytime..I enjoy chatting about aircraft and the like...especially the A-Ha! moments I have when I learn something new :)

  • Your music is so soothing...

  • When I took LSD, I flew at Mach 14 all the time. Wonder Woman was right next to me in the invisible plane You should have seen the look in the face of the passengers in the 747 we flew next to while we were having sex

  • I agree that it is an SR71. The fastest it ever flew was over Libya at Mach 3.2

  • I believe the first photo you have of the YF-12 is an SR71. The YF12 had a notched nose and the SR71 has a streamlined nose.

  • Mig 25, yes it has a top speed of Mach 3.2 but the limit at continuous use was 2.8. Otherwise the engine would only be good for one flight damaged beyond repair at 3.2. The SR71 could do it time and again without have to replace the engines.

  • @pdlip1

That was a safety feature built in to prevent their pilots from running away to USA. Mig25 can fly at Mach 3.2+ but continuous speed is not to be exceeded for more than 30 minutes. I don't see how that is possible, since the most time it spends in air is about 30 minutes. Their fuel runs out way before the engine burns out, if it were pushed to the maximum. SR71 too never flew more than two hours at a time, and most of that was under Mach 3.

  • the sr 71 was not a fighter dumb asses it was reconansiss nor yr71 is black bird

  • the sr 71 was not a fighter dumb asses it was reconansiss

  • 0:42 you mean conchord

  • Comment removed

  • what s the song s name please

  • Blackbird and a MIG-25 are probably the fastest manned aircraft ever made. Each is capable of Mach 3.2+ ; Mig-25 holds the record as the highest altitude achieved, 125k feet. If you compare the rocket powered, than you can also include apollo and soyuz. lol. Voyagers are traveling at something like 40k miles per hour.

  • uhhh the YF-12 was the prototype of the SR-71 but it is the fastet jet that 1. is piloted 2. is not assisted to fly and 3. not rocket powered all the rest (excluding the X-15) are drones and the X-15 is essentially a missile with a man in it......

  • the su27 is by far the sexiest aircraft ever

  • Hmm.. X43A is unmanned, isn't it? If rocket-planes are included, then what about the shuttle and other rocket propelled space craft?

And don't forget the Ford Escort...!

  • these arent the fastest these are only man made the fastest and meanest is the craft whicn crashed in ROSWELL NEW MEXICO IN 1947 THEY WERE MADE BY A FAR MORE SUPERIOR RACE THAN US they duplicatin their technology and blendin it into our planes bit by bit laugh all you want but its true

  • Apart from some subtle airframe differences, the SR-71, A-12 and YF-12 had virtually identical characteristics. Also, they all flew at around Mach 3.4.

From what I recall, only the 2 seater A-12 and SR-71 training aircraft were a little slower.

The Mig 25 holds the record for highest altitude flight of an airbreathing manned craft (125,000 feet), but SR-71 is still the fastest manned air breather.

  • Umm... last time I checked a Foxbat was not faster than a Blackbird. Also, the SR-71's top speed was a shade under Mach 3.4 - not 3.2 or 3.8

  • ABSOLUTLEY CORRECT. And the producer should have added the A-12 Oxcart which was faster and higher flying than the later SR-71. The A-12 could cruise Mach 3.35 at 90,000+ feet. The SR-71 pilots could reach 3.32 on a cold day but where not allowed to unless they where in danger.(They did peak the 71 at Mach 3.4 in a test flight without all of its equipment onboard) SR-71pilots by regs would cruise at 3.2 for their missions. Its alot of book reading! But man is it fascinating history.. :) USA!

  • @SR71U2ube Watch again.........the A-12 is in there.

  • @SchwartzeBaron That is a YF-12 Interceptor prototype. The differences in the YF-12 and the A-12 are very noticable. The A-12 is basically a single seat SR-71 with a sharper chined nose and a single camera bay rather than a bunch of sensors. To establish the blackbird family in order, it was the A-12_YF-12 _SR-71. there was two special birds called M-21's for testing the D-21. Both where A-12 style airframes with a second seat for the drone operator. Notice the slow evolution?

  • @SchwartzeBaron Soooo... Both planes shown are the YF-12 and the SR-71. I did not see an A-12.

  • @SchwartzeBaron As one last measure of assurance, look up the tail numbers of all those blackbirds on this video. They will all either be YF-12's or SR-71's. I do believe that they converted an A-12 into a YF-12 but i cant remember, For this info you can look all the blackbirds up on -----------> Habu.org

  • hey mom! that x-43 you bought.

yeah, im gonna go to france for breakfest.

    Be back in an hour!

  • wright bros? cmon maaan

  • I don't see the J3 Cub in this list

  • @WakeUpDummies :D Or an ultralight?

  • @iNatevlogs Very good point ;)

  • Urgh, typical heavy metal shit soundtrack

  • Comment removed

  • music, oh boy... for all that wear headphones: R.I.P.

  • When did the Blackbird ever qualify as a fighter ? Even as an interceptor ? It's been doin' Reconnaissance for all of it's career . And That listing counts 17 aircraft.

  • @MultiTurlute It's original intended role, A-12, YF-12A was a long range interceptor. It was restricted to Recon by the small minds of lesser politicians of the day. Had it entered it's design role of Interceptor, it would have effectively stopped the Soviet expansion in it's tracks. Nothing then or now matches it's capabilities. Keeping in mind released specs are only guide lines and not indicative of it's true potential.

  • Gotcher info wrong on the YF-12 (SR-71). Top speed is mach 3.8, not 3.2. It is still considered the fasted jet powered aircraft in existence.

  • @obliviousfafnir01 in 3.8 flight he is disfuncitonal it means u cant control it so it has speed brakes

  • @obliviousfafnir01

You got your Machs mixed up. At high altitude Mach is 660mph and at sea level it is 760mph. This is where the discrepancy comes from. I am fairly certain that top speed on Blackbird is Mach 3.3 at High altitude or Mach 2.8 at sea level. If it was rated at Mach 3.3 at sea level, it would Mach 3.8 at high altitude. I am pretty sure it is Mach 3.3+ at High altitude, which is the same as Mig-25. SR71 is probably faster than Mig-25, but not by much.

  • @filmftw3 pretty sure the speed of sound decreases at lower altitude due to increased air pressure... so at high altitude, "mach 1" would be higher mph than at sea level...

    just saying...

  • @CBGSR

I don't think you understand it. As temperature and pressure increase, so does speed of sound. Simple as that. There is no sound in space, because it is very cold and no pressure. In water speed of sound is 3000mph ; Thus at high altitude Mach 3.8 is about 2500 mph, which is about Mach 3.3 at sea level. Fellow youtube expert

  • @obliviousfafnir01 wrong, nasa's X-43A is scramjet powered, still jet powered aircraft, goes insanely fast.

"9.68 at about 34,000 metres (112,000 ft) altitude" (wikipedia)

  • @iwillavengeyou Alright, corrected. The SR-71 is the fastest MANNED jet powered aircraft in existence. Otherwise, you're probably correct.

  • @obliviousfafnir01 oo manned. haha still pretty dang fast!!!!

  • @obliviousfafnir01 wait i think there might be something manned + faster than sr71.

it goes at Maximum speed: Mach 6.72 (4,520 mph, 7,274 km/h)

go on wiki......org and type the following after .org

    /wiki/North_American_X-15#Specifications_.28X-15.29

  • @iwillavengeyou The X-15 is not jet powered. It's a rocket plane. The X series rocket planes have been in developement since Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier for the first time in the Bell X-1. The X-15 has been in use since some time in the 80s, used for high altitude and high speed research. As far as I know, it holds (or at least held at one time) the speed record for a manned aircraft, but not for a manned jet aircraft.

  • @obliviousfafnir01 oh your right it is rocket powered haha i didnt know that.

some crazy stuff we humans developed i still cant believe the age of technology we are at

    wow

  • @obliviousfafnir01 Actually you are wrong the fastest jet powered aircraft in existence is the NASA X-43 Scramjet which has a top speed of mach 9.69.

  • @obliviousfafnir01 but i do believe that nasa and the USAF still hid the true top speed of the Blackbird..

  • @obliviousfafnir01 Actually, the top speed is still classified :)

  • @felixu95

    SR71 was designed as Mach3.2

Top speed is between Mach 3.2 and Mach3.5 at high altitude, so 2112mph-2310mph. When authorized by the Commander, speeds up to Mach 3.3 may be flown if the CIT limit of 427 degrees C is not exceeded ; This is because metal divider between the windshield was heating up so much above mach 3.5 that it was affecting the integrity of the windshield. Highest altitude was 87k feet. Those engines need a lot of air to operate, and any higher, you got no air.

  • @filmftw3 Your argument about the engine is not valid - the SR-71 was specifically designed with a HECK of a lot of features to create thicker air - even the spike was maneuverable to be able to move the shockwave so that it hits the engine inlet at just the right angle. In addition to this, the soviet Mig-25 reached a height of 115,000 feet - 87000 is by no means the absolute limit for an air-breathing aircraft.

  • @felixu95 Of the SR-71? Maybe. But considering that it's not in service anymore, and that it's top speed is listed officially as mach 3.8, I would think that's accurate. A friend of mine once worked in naval intelligence. He said that most military intelligence that reaches the public is never officially declassified anyway. It's just accepted as being public knowledge.

  • @obliviousfafnir01 what about the X-43A that goes mach 10?

  • @superantman11 The X-43A is an unmanned scramjet. The SR-71 still holds the record for the fastest manned jet-powered aircraft.

  • @obliviousfafnir01 Uhhh...

I knew that O_o (Looks left and right suspiciously)

  • uhh...space shuttle? mach 22+?

  • @r1dermon The shuttle Is a Spacecraft not an aircraft. Aircraft can not operate outside the atmosphere. It is powered by rocket engines, not jet engines. It also requires two solid rocket booster engines, without which it would not attain orbital velocity. Not at all the same thing. Your comparing Apples and Oranges

  • @GunBroker100 Shut the fuck up, thanks.

  • @claudiopereiraaguiar Eat shit and die. Go enjoy your national pass time of clubbing seal pups.

  • @r1dermon is that classified as a aircraft though?

  • @r1dermon in space mac

  • @r1dermon

The shuttle is a spacecraft, not an aircraft. It doesn't reach those speeds in the atmosphere.

  • @r1dermon AIRcraft, not SPACEcraft, orbital velocity is obviously faster than flight velocity for pretty much anything that stays in the atmosphere, instead of passing thru it on the way to space

  • @r1dermon

But that is not a plane ;) It doesn't have propulsion, it glides back to earth.
