Michelle, don't take this the wrong way, I'm as straight and straight-laced as they come...but why don't you look to get married? You're young and pretty, and a husband could drive you places, giving you more independence and freedom. Plus he could help out in other ways. True, being in love and wanting to be together should be the main reason, but NEEDING could also be a reasonable and motivating factor to marry. Many women have married for lessor reasons.
If its any consolation you can have a friend....your man or family hire out a luxury car for the day and you could sit in the car...the experience counts too :)
wow i know the feeling taking for granted something as simple as driving a car....(sigh). but i would love to hear the story about the hooptie, sounds like a funny one!

My husband lost his vision at 8 and never got to drive a car and always talks about it so at least for what its worth you had that experience.
