Im not comparing talent or anything like that because they both are amazing bands, and the both were extremely original groups. but it is kind of interesting how a band like the doors that wasn't around all that long with one singer, and a band like the Beatles with 4 singers pretty much, that was around for quite some time, both were so popular and in a lot of ways legendary, and on both very high pedestals,

they both are just as good, i love both bands for their own specific reasons though

The Beatles were the pop fav four, but The Doors were from the sunset west and changed music into theatrical entertainment that still remains today. Not that The Beatles did anything less, but to compare these two bands is crazy. Both remain hot sellers even in this time of Rap and Hip Hop. They both transend time and probably always will. sorry to add fuel to the fire... butttt.... in my opinion, the doors are better than the beatles. see, the doors tried more and pushed more on to be more progressive, however, the beatles were also progressive with the white album. and that album is one of my fav of all time, but collectively the doors tried more new things, and have more influence on music of today once again, in my opinion. they are equally as talented however. but manzarek is the best keyboardist ever.

The beatles are a great band, but The Doors are my fav. Id chose them over the beatles anyday. Jim Morrison knows how to speak to people, his words really meant something and still have a huge effect on me as an adult. Im only 28 and I grew up listening to them. My grandmother was a huge doors fan, if it wasnt for her I wouldnt listen to this amazing music. Shes even bought me a majority of his books of poetry :]
