  • @violiner9391 "East-coast" sound refers to the very "full", "fat" sound typical of Virtuoso Violinists who are / were taught on the East Coast of the USA ( America ) , in contrast with many ( even very fine ) Violinists who are / were schooled on the Pacific (West) Coast of USA who typically have a "thinner" sound. It's not a derogatory term or expression, just one of observation of sound quality differences amongst Concert Artists. Best wishes to you.
