  • FEMALE & MALE ACTING TWINS

  • I have always loved this song. This song came out when I was 6. Still love it. It took a bit to find since I couldn't remember the name of the song.

  • Great fusion of rock/pop/disco

  • What a song I had to come back. It has that sound of a guy in a convertible with 5 chics driving thru the streets lste at night. ELO you gave us this forgotton mEGAHIT i love it. what a song what a group. Tomkes doo wop/rocknroll historian

  • I didn't realize back in the day, just a girl in junior high school, what a special sound Jeff Lynne created and contributed to the industry. I just knew I LOVED them and their music. Still do...

It really peeves me off that he STILL has not been inducted into the Rock N Roll Music Hall of Fame. He wrote so many great ones. For himself and many others.

  • the albums name is Discovery or DISCO-Very? Hmmmm still an awesome tune one of my fav bands ever

  • I dont see this as a disco song at all. All ELO music is great.

  • I love that disco feel... Best song to groove down the street to.. E.L.O kick assss

  • The obligatory disco song at the height of the craze.

Everyone had to do one...from McCartney's "Good Night Tonight" to The Grateful Dead's "Shakedown Street." Lol! No one was immune!

This stuff got so many "disco sucks" ELO fans' knickers in a twist...yours truly included!

And 30 years later, all I can think is "what the heck, big freaking deal."

  • Arkady63: lol, or they had to find the funk. Both Queen and the Who both managed that.

  • Darksideofthecole You've got to be kidding.

Queen's only attempt at something even resembling soul, disco or rap was when they plagerized the bass line from Sugar Hill Gang in their "song" Another One Bites the Dust.

As for The Who, they received great acclaim from the U.S. anti-disco crowd with their song "Sister Disco," from Who Are You.

I personally was at a Who concert where the entire audience chanted "Disco sucks! Disco sucks!" after they played that number.

  • I said funk. Not Disco.

Queen had their album "Hot Space" which followed the style of "Another One Bites the Dust."

And the Who had "Eminence Front", their funk number.

By the way, I envy that you were able to see them in concert.

  • Una Obra Maestra... .-)

  • this is my all time ELO fave....oh the memories of reverse speed skate racing with the dj spinning this one...........oh those were the days... i would do it all again, any day!

thanks for the upload, cheers mate!

SHINE A LITTLE LOVE all Happy for all of us. TOMK ps im playing it now on my cd.

  • doesn't get much better than this...

  • alot of their songs do have a disco feel even though they are more of a rock band

  • muy buen tema disco!

  • This great song reached #8 in 1979. (U.S., Billboard)

  • I always have and, always will love this song.

  • memories, wee always hear discovery, before wee went to disco...

  • I used to wear my three peice leisure suits out Saturday nights disco dancing!! Great memories!!! I hope Disco makes a comeback!! ELO is AWSOME!!!!! Thankyou for posting this video!!!!

  • Great Song - just listened to it on CD yesterday - brings back great memories. Thanks for posting :)

  • i was 3yo in 1979 when this had major play on the radio in L.A., i remember it! call me crazy but its true..

  • This is one of my favorite ELO songs. It rocks IMO! Can listen to it over and over and over... :-)))

  • Their early band logo was pretty cool- it was adapted from the "GE"(General Electric) logo. It's on their '73 album "On The Third Day". The final logo was of course designed after the classic Wurlitzer jukebox cabinet- then morphing into their spaceship

  • What great memories of the summer of 1979.

  • estupendo son jeniales

  • such a great song!

  • This is included on Kelly's official website: "It is with great sadness that I have to inform the fans that Kelly Groucutt died on the afternoon of 19th February 2009 of a heart attack. Our hearts and thoughts go out to Anna and Kelly's family. He touched all of our lives with his love, kindness and generosity as well as his talent for music and song. He was a true and wonderful friend who loved every second of life and he will be greatly missed by us all." God bless you Kelly wherever you are!

  • thanks for posting this. ELO was the main band I grew up listening to. Really sad to hear about Kelly Groucutt(basist) passing.

  • a lot of elo songs are disco. starting with "Last train to London".

  • The song is more Glam Rock than Disco in my opinion.

  • I sort of liked this song when I was younger but was a punk so had to shut up ;-P

Now that I can play it, I can say this song's bassline is sick as hell.

  • Never heard that but it is apt for this tune anyway. This is one of the first cassette tapes I bought. My favourite track is Midnight Blue.

  • this really isnt a disco tune per se, but it has elements of disco in it....many ELO songs were very danceable...

  • Were and still are.

  • When this album, Discovery, came out, the inside joke was that is was Disco-Very!

  • takes me back to my roller skating dayz in the late 70s early 80s in sunny oz

  • lol u say average an u get -6 and marked as spam...it wasnt average, ITS PHENOMINAL

  • this is in THAT

  • Thanks. I've always thought this song hangs together nicely with the songs from the Xanadu soundtrack. This and "Twilight."

  • This and 'Last train to london' are the only disco sounding songs of ELO both r from this album

  • Hey! Just asking anyone out there if you could find the videos of these guys singing this song and "Don't Bring Me Down" LIVE on TV! I remembered it in 1979 but couldn't remembered what show they were on...SNL...Fridays....or Midnight Special??

  • 5 stars ...

  • Wild song. Thanks to JACK FM. Forgot about this one until the damn thing played it.
