heres an idea for the second series, jordan appears in front of molly and many others hosting a MECHA race and battle tournament, he uses that as his chance to see molly again, kross returns only even more pissed and the rivalry begins, anyone think this is a good idea?

I have to be honest, I found this show dull as hell. Where did all the energy the pilot short had go? It was so...overly dramatic. Like they handed writing duties over to BONES. Just seemed like such a waste of potential, I don't know.

I noticed just now that at 0:20 there is a race vehicle that looks like one of the "pod racers" in Starwars 1: the Phantom Menace.

On top of that look at the title. Star Racers sounds like a cross of the names "Star Wars" and "pod racers".

and on top of that the name "Oban" in the title sounds like the name of the Starwars character Jedi "Obi Wan". At first when I saw the title "Oban Star Racers" I was expecting an anime based on Starwars. But I guess it's not, it just infringed the copyright.

its similar but the racers can use any means to win as long as you don't purposely try to kill the opponent and the vehicles are nothing alike like a bug and a star fighter

Interesting, I was told the Japanese/French version was different, but this is the same intro that's on the US DVD's I have. Am I correct in guessing then that it was the US broadcast that had the different intro? I've only seen the series on DVD, I didn't watch the broadcasts.

Yes. The US Jetix broadcast had "never say never". As for the DVD release, there are two available: the shortened Japanese opening, and the Hungarian version.

Yeah, I have noticed the DVDs intro, while the same song, is shorter. They provide the full intro as an extra on the second disc of volume two.
