I was messing around a little bit and to people who are confused about the 3d render looking flat, what you want to do is go to Window>3D>right below "depth map" click layer 1> Type in 100% for gloss and shine.

for some reason i don't get this neat glossy 3D object when i do the exact same thing.. it looks much more matte n blunt, it also has 2 inifinite lights by default.. Weird!

@m0xalis hm, in the texture options changing gloss and shine to 100% seemed to work nicely, still 2 lights by default, maybe the defaults in CS5 Extended have changed

OK i only reached up to putting in the clouds but when i click 3D and go to the options its all greyed out and i have layer click and its still i crnt click anything on 3d!

I'm usin a geforce 9400GT 3d effect is not available in my version(PS CS4 Extended)

before it worked after installin new driver version 260.99 from Nvidia.com it doesn't appear even in preferences completely wiped off and my Nvidia 3d manager tool ain't working (corrupt driver?) i downloaded fully again and it won't work ( but runs games good) I un installed vid card drivers and installed default drivers but still the error remain (no 3d effect and error on 3d manager) can somebody help please!

@moufa4life its a thing you get when you get the extended version of photoshop, im not sure if you can get a plug in or something for a portable version but i very much doubt it im afriad

this same technique also can be used to make flames, use reds instead of blues then hit it with glass filter maybe some transforms..very good stuff ;)

In the Layers panel, where you can see all of your layers, click the little picture of the layer, the one that shows you as a quick little preview of what that layer is. It's also in the layers panel

We can get the same result 2 times with the clouds.

We have 1 to 314 572 800chance if we use a 1280x960 Screen and using Black 'n' White, so there is 0-255 colors :D
