I suppose that Reed is doing some valid science.

But after watching the parade of chasers in Kansas and Missouri last year I know that one of these guys is going to get themselves (and several others, probably) killed getting the footage that nobody else has. It is already dangerous as hell to drive within 20 miles of a Tornado because of the traffic jam the 'Chasers' create. Reed is doing product endorsements for everything from Windshield Wipers to Doggy Diapers so he doesn't give a crap.

Hmm...I chased this day. If anyone knows, is this the same storm/tornado that was north of Panhandle, TX? If so I was treated to perhaps the best supercellular structure I've ever seen with that storm.

Discovery pays them to document their chasing season. Not to mention the tens of thousands of dollars per year they make selling severe weather footage to TV shows and news stations. Reed and his crew get paid pretty well for what they do. They "work" (chase) for probably 6 months out of the year then take 6 months off. But they're usually trying to invent stuff on the off-season to get even better, and closer tornado footage.

Sean Casey is trying to make a Gazillion dollars with his iMax film.

Warren Faidley will end up the first Tornado Millionaire.

There are several schmucks taking people on Tornado Tours for big bucks.

Lots of 'Amateurs' out trying to get footage to sell to ANY buyer.

There are a bunch of people making money off of the Chasing fad.

Meanwhile, the people doing the real Science (Josh Wurman, et al ) are getting some decent funding.

The way there car is desinged is suposed to be able to go into the tornado without flipping. But there only problem is items penitrating the car.
