@montuckyboze You can check it by using the solution with the closest value to the pH of your solution - often then pH 7 buffer solution for indoor gardening. pH 7 is "base 0" and the gain or slope is set by pH 4/10 buffers.. so if pH 7 is off then it's wise to use the two-point calibration. If the pH is 7.1 or 6.9 I probably wouldn't bother calibrating it - the solution is not that sensitive usually.
@UnrealJello Depends on the pen - I have been told tap water, pH #7 buffer solution, specific storage solution, and one company said the solution in the glass was a pH of 3 so the pH #4 buffer solution would cause less drift. I just put the cap back on mine under the assumption no storage solution is better than the wrong storage solution.
will just one calibration solution work? or should you really double check always?
