  • To make this work you need a 5mm thick drive, I believe the one you used was an 8mm drive, I went through the exact same issue the first time I attempted to upgrade my Zune 30 I eventually found a 5mm thick 60GB drive on eBay. I have also seen them advertised as large as 120GB at 5mm thick, but very expensive.

  • @IamMrHart Really, thank you that was very helpful, I will add that to the description to help others who watch this!

  • did you ever remember the sight of where you got the hard drive from?

  • i found these videos very useful, i learned a lot from these vids... i took mine apart to put in a larger hard drive (which i later on found out was the same size) and if i would have watched this vid beforehand i would have not broken the headphone jack on the doner zune (dont ask how i broke it.. i don't even know) (yes i know this post is over 2 years after the vid and i know my zune is outdated but it still works like the day i bought it and ive had no need to replace it yet)

  • If u didnt put the 60gb into the Harddisk case, can u close the it again?

  • Is it just me, or it seems that every single part of actual useful information never gets recorded on camera, just the plain (and totally useless) "after" images?

"Heres the broken Zune, and after I do some things (off camera), voilà! Here you can resume seeing the thing fixed without any explanation whatsoever."

  • this was a complete waste of my time. worst video ive ever watched

  • @xxmikeisonfire At first I thought you were just being a dickhead, but then I got to the last part of the video. This was ridiculous.

  • ok my man i guess you would know did you ever fix that prob.?

  • i know someone that put a 80g in a 30g you have to slice the rubber bumpers down or shave them down and it will fit it will be snug fit but he can do it with a 80 you can do it with a 60

  • no, the 80 gig is completely different looking than the 60 gig. The 60 looks like two 30 put togather and is very large, the 80s harddrive is longer and not nearly as fat, i have one of those two. im not saying its impossible to put the 60 in, i am saying that its not comparable to the 80, even though you would think it where.

  • when you chang your harddrive doesnt that mean that the system files are gone?

  • id by system files your referring to music, pictures, video, then yes. that data is stored on the hdd and would obviously be gone. However if you mean the basic operating files then no, those are on the motherboard.

  • epic FAIL.....

  • how did u crack ur screen?

  • ya they say a lota things

  • ya it does get really really hot!

  • Dude, I have the same lamp that you have! Haha, that was pretty stupid of me to say... Isn't it really hot? Like the glass gets extremely hot.

  • Oh dear, blunder!

  • you should get a tri-pod so we can see how ur doing the missing parts

  • can u make a vid on taking it apart?

  • hey man ur awsome but i neeeeeeed ur help reallllly bad u c my zune is messed up the "software" whenevr i attach it to the computer the computer says this usb device is not recognised and it says this usb device is malfunctioning so i callled the company and they couldnt help so i realllllly need your help to let me kno if ther is a way i can possibly fix and if ther is plzzz let me kno thank u4ur time ltr

  • dude you need a tripod man lol nice video !!!

  • did u take the rubber bumpers off???

  • the original ones i never had on just the ones that where cut, and i tried putting it togather without the hardrive casing and no stoperrs or anything, basically just the harddrive freely placed in the casing with nothing else and it still didnt want to fit perfectly however it did fit much better.
