It's not just metal fans. I listen to classical,indie, folk, rock and metal. You can usually find at least some good music from almost any genre. Let me tell you, I've heard good rock and roll and Nickelback isn't it.

What exactly is" substantial" music? Personally I am a fan of MUSIC..I listen to everything. It is kind of nice to have an open mind..AS far as Nickelback goes, they are an awesome band and put on a great show..
What more could a rock fan want..
I am so glad that I came from a time where music was just Music and didn't have so many labels..

Whatever you think of Nickelback's music, I disagree with this entirely: if you don't like their music, DON'T BUY THE TICKETS OR COME TO THE CONCERT. It's the sales of those tickets that allow these guys to go on making music, and coming to their concerts to throw rocks at them and boo them off the stage isn't gonna accomplish anything more than wasting money and being obnoxious. Tell them to stop making music by not promoting them, as opposed to using some dumb gesture like this.

It's not just metal fans. I listen to classical,indie, folk, rock and metal. You can usually find at least some good music from almost any genre. Let me tell you, I've heard good rock and roll and Nickelback isn't it.

To all of the people wondering why people would pay to see them if they don't like them: They were playing a festival with a bunch of metal bands. It isn't surprising that they got that kind of response. They are hated through much of the metal world, not just in Portugal.

Honestly this isn't necessary at all. Some people like them and some don't. I'm not saying i do like them but cmon? They're human too with FEELINGS. If there's anyone to throw rocks at its those crazy guys we have in prisons. Nickelback did nothing to deserve this. And theres no reason for any of you to be saying this shit.
