They earned a 3? This must be when UIL held bands to a true standard. They all seem to get a division 1 rating now a days.

I was a member of this band and played the Summertime solo. Was it really that long ago? I was not a very good player then.

Hey Jeremy. Isn't this from like the Blue Devils 1976 park n' bark movement? i found it online and it's called Legend of the One-eyed Sailor.

@rocketfan86 Wow, you're right. By Chuck Mangione. If I still watched that Classic Countdown DVD any, I might've recognized it.
I would have definitely given them a 1. I've seen much worse bands get a 2.

This is the second year marching corps style. The region at the time was predominantly military-style. I think a major concern was the fact that one movement the band just "parked and barked."
Are you saying this performance earned them a 3rd place or a 3?

They earned a division 3 rating (good) by Texas UIL Standards.
