  • I've had a Red plymouth sundance 2.2L 4C 66,000 miles on it, and it's such a good reliable car. my dad's 2009 silverado, and my moms 2004 ford taurus have repeatedly broken down a couple times a year every year, and my little matchbox car keeps tickin! Thumbs up Sundance.

  • Buy Amerrricahn! Buy the SUNDANCE!

  • ホンダは、最高の車の会社です。

  • Your right he can.

  • My buddy has a sundance and I drove it. It suprizingly had some balls.. Fun little piece if shit to drive xD

  • they did make a model in 1980 didn't they?

  • the pride died when it showed the yellow interior....

  • It's actually tan. The color in the video is heavily saturated.

  • The pride is back, born in America... with a Japanese Mitsubishi engine???

I'm all for American companies, but Chrysler is at the bottom of my list... because of stupid shit like that.

  • Hate to tell you this the motor in that Sundance 2.2/2.5 was all chrylser built in the NJ engine plant the same plant that built the Slant 6. There isn't nothing Japanese about that car.

  • They had a Mitsubishi V6 option.

  • the slant six was the toughest engine ever built, lots of them will still running long after most japanese engines hve been junked

  • Now that's how you sell a car. Car commercials these days are so shitty.

  • As a Houston resident, I'd like to see all of the commercials from this tape.

  • Cool music but, Dodges offered a powertrain warranty against rust back in the 80's? I don't think Ford did that did they?

  • no ford didn't thats another reason why dodge sold even better in the late 80s the America series in 1988 and 87 were very successful they sold many k cars in 1988

  • I have a 94 sundance qith 170,000 on it and runs mint.

  • I believe this car is emerging out of the 90's as the best car still on the road. I get shocked how many sundances I see on the road and in towns/cities. I would also think Acclaim is another one.

  • I dunno, I think I'd have to take a Sundance (duster) over a taurus any day. I've had 3 of them and one taurus and I think theyre so much easier to work on then fords. Ugh... Besides you see way more Sundances on the road today then taurus's of the same year.

  • The Dodge Neon from the 80's

  • These cars were built much better than the Neons.

  • These cars were built much better than the Neons.

  • my friend has one of these pieces of shit

    they are horrible

  • is his a 87 or 88 what year is his?

  • ya your right they were neon's aren't that good

  • No it's from the 90's.

  • the sundance? this is like an '87 or something you can tell by the front lights and tail lights. i think the shadow/sundance were made as replacements to the horizon/omni.

  • Why did Plymouth have the same symbol as Chrysler back then? The Pentastar?

  • Actually, all of the Chrysler Corp. divisions (Chrysler, Plymouth and Dodge) at one time used the Pentastar. My '71 Dodge Challenger had it as did many other models then, Coronet, Dart, etc. Chrysler is pumping out some great cars now and hopefully will maintain that in the future. Though, they REALLY need to implement all the safety features and smart ideas that they acquired under Mercedes and make more small cars!

  • "The pride is back! Born in America... Again!"

What the hell was that? Plymouth Sundance was NOT the unbelievable American. There were better American cars than that. (Ford Taurus)

  • I'm not sure those lyrics were a good idea because they imply American cars were crap before this and now they are good again (late '80's). These were actually really good cars. Just most anyone that's owned one or a mechanic. Not fancy cars, but very good basic tranportation. To even say the Ford Taurus is a better car is a joke. It's infamously one of the worst American cars built in the past 20yrs.

  • I had an 88 Sundance and got 148,000 miles out of it before I traded it in. It was a really good car.

  • An incredible piece of crap is what that was. This is when American cars started to loose their superior beauty and character. Any older 50s to 70s Ame. car has more value than this one. Great ad for the wrong car. After all, where is Plymouth today. Gone

  • American cars of the 70's was the worst decade for American cars. That's why the Japanese started taking over with their little economy cars because American cars were so bad back then. The failure of Plymouth has a lot more to do with a lack of advertising and growing auto industry competition, not because they were a crappy products. Some of the best cars I've owned actually...all 3.

  • You're probably thinking of the 80's. 70's was still in the muscle car era. Hondas, Subaru's, Toyotas, Nissans, etc didn't get real popular til the 80's

  • American companies lost their buisness to the japanese not only because of bad gas milieage, but also because they cut way too many corners. The 1968 and '78 Cutlass are exactly the same. Sure they have different body stylings, but the frame and engine are the same. It was methods like these that made American cars so bad. Before the '60's, every car was improved every year. Look at the cars from the late 40's. A '46 Ford and '49 are comletey different from body styling, frame and engine.

  • That's true, the gas crisis of the 70's was a major turning point in the auto industry. But auto makers today, American, Japanese, European, all "reskin" cars to give them a new improved appearance when nothing under the sheetmetal has actually changed. With stiffer competition now, car companies are having to update their cars more frequently now.

  • I just wish they updated the bodies as frequently. It's not as bad now as it was 7 years ago. I like how car companies are putting fenders and chrome back on cars, and even making retro styled cars like the PT cruiser, the Chevy HHR and the Toyota FJ Cruiser. Now if they could only put white wall tires and dog bowl hubcaps back on their cars as standard features.

  • I totally agree! The 90's brought about new cars that progressively had less and less "chrome" trim. Even when it's just fake plastic chrome, I like the look of it. I'm glad to see they are starting to revert back to more "chrome" and the retro style vehicles. I loved the big "chrome" grill on my '92 Acclaim back in the day. Not standard, but "dog bowl" or "moony" wheels as my Dad calls them, are avialable for the PT and HHR. He loves those things.

  • I've seen the website for those tires and wheels. Now if they could only come as a standard or option on the rest of the cars. I really think dog bowl hubcups and white wall tires would look real nice on a Cadillac Escalade.

  • Chrysler needs another Lee Iacocca

  • Sergio Marchionne is the one. Trust me he will get Chrysler back on it's feet.

  • i hope. i think problems started because there was really no succession of luxury in the cars. it used to be Plymouth, dodge, Chrysler, and that unique jeep line. Without Plymouth it came crashing down. Dodge and Chrysler copied one another and now chrysler no longer feels or appeals to the consumer as a luxury. So sad because there cars look great. Quality issues as well. I love chrysler. it just sounds great. i hope we can do it

  • Your right when Plymouth went out the door Chrysler just wasn't the same anymore and you can blame those fucks from Daimler.

  • I hope you're right Heegoop. I'm not a Chry Co basher, but...look at the state of some of the company's products. The interior plastics for one are utterly horrible.

Marchionne - please bring back the daring designs and better interior quality for all Chrysler Corp models!

  • Ford should hire him!

  • Yes He can!!!

  • is iaccoca's voice?

yes that man can sell anything !

  • Awesome commercial

  • I had a red Sundance just like the one that zips by the semi. Great little car. Loved it!

  • The brown Sundance is exactly like mine. This makes me feel special.
