@wwfww you know how that works right... The wheel are indeed spinning at a speed that would normally be 60 hm/h but because his front wheels are still spinning it means he isn't doing 60.... The speed in a care is measured by the wheels turning not the position in space (aka satalite/gps)
lol is a poor acceleration fron 120 to 280 i know it will sound incrediblly stupid but a vectra b 2.0 16v will take u after u "breach" the 100kmp/h barrier
@DDFDriver In fact, in tgis model, as in most VAG models, the ES is never deactivated. When you pres the ESP button ad the yellow signal starts to flash, you have deactivated the traction control (burn tyres as you want!) but the ESP remains latent for if you enter in a too dangerous acttitude
@OveRMinDTR I understand , thanks , off I had deactivated the ESP from my car Skoda Octavia this winter , I was climbing a hill and on that hill a lot of people had problems because all of them had not winter tires, and I thought that the yellow light must flash and I pushed the ESP button and deactivated it,and I had to push the car with my family a lot the car was climbing with few problems having 15-30km/h and I was running with my family to push the car from back, the car was drifting a lot
@OveRMinDTR the light flashes when the ESP is turned off and even if it is turned off or turned on, the light flashes when the car is doing burnouts for example :D
This car have a turbo (which makes more power, for models 2010 211hp) and compressor (which gives a huge torque 280Nm from begining of 1700RPM to cca 5000RPM). The biggest power and torque are between 4500-5000RPM. So if you try to accelerate in mentioned RPM, you will get an orgasm :-)
@TomStoneMemphis Magic of a good modern easy spinning turbo, variable admission and a 2 liter engine instead of the 1.4 liter twinchager of the 1.4TSI 160 version. You know, I also have a Scirocco 2.0TSI, is a single turbo and a very very good engine. Btw, it is codenamed EA888, an is the same engine tan the Golf GTI 6, totally different from the previous 2.0TFSI codenamed EA113 of the Golf GTI V (and still used in the higher bhp versions of the Seat leon Cupra, Audi S3, Golf R and Scirocco R)
@TomStoneMemphis The new EA888 has in common with the previous EA113 only same capacity of 1984cc, but every piece is different, as is the engine management. The block is now stronger and slightly lighter, and even with officialy the same torque than the previous EA113 (280Nm), the newer EA888 has a flatter torque curve that climbs up earlier in the rev range.
@alamos8 So in some dimension the EA888 (which is not R-type) is better than EA113 (using in Scirocco R). So we did good if we bought just 2.0L TSI than 2.0L TSI R-type? The dimension i dont mean the power and torque but for example failure rate, stamina, weight, extensibility and so on.
@TomStoneMemphis Yes, EA888 is an overall better engine, made from the knowledge gained with the EA113. For example the stronger block allows for more future tuneability as it withstand more boost. In a year or so Audi will unveil the next A3, and when the S3 version will be released (by end 2012 maybe? Dunno) 90% probs it will equiped with a powered up version of the EA888, aobut 300bhp or so. Apart from that, with same power/torque levels, EA888 has lower C02 and better mileage
@TomStoneMemphis But for now, if you want the extra power/torque of the R versions, you still has to buy an S3, Scirocco R, Golf R or Audi TT-S with their EA113 in 265-272 bhp version... ...or buy a normal 2.0TSI (Audi TT2.0T, Scirocco 2.0TSI, GOlf GTI, Leon FR) and make a repro to a safe 250-260bhp and 350-360Nm torque, although you will lose the styling or chassis bits (bodykit, alloys, AWD) that comes with some of those high-end, bigger-money models
guys ! i thinks that scirocco is moore powerful that we think !!
and can reach the 100KM/h in just 4 seconds !!! see one thing ! replay the vidéo and see that in the first ( automatic ) gear ! it can reach 60 km/h !! and after scirocco has a problem to pass to the next gear ! so it stop for 2 seconds in the 60km/h !! we can hear the sound of the engine who realy changed in 60 !!
@DDFDriver If you have enough bhp, petrol usually accelerates faster than diesel, because of lower gear ratios than diesel engines that cannot go above 4000rpm effectively. The strong point of diesel is the pull in high gears thanks to the torque, but if you allow to choose freely which gear is used, petrol is faster accelerating. And if we are talking about turbo'ed petrol engine, like this 2.0TSI, etc, then the advantage is even more obvious because the turbo can reduce the difference in torque
@alamos8 I understand, wow thanks for explication,so the turbo engine of this Scirocco is reducing the torque?this you want to say?so torque is not good for petrol cars?and torque means power?so the jeep cars must have only diesel engines for cruising "offroad"?the jeep cars with petrol engine are not good?(if there exist jeep cars with petrol engine)
@DDFDriver He didn't say that... He said that with turbo in petrol, the adventage of petrol is greater... Tourque is as important as the HP,if not even more...
@XepojCp6uje I understand,I didn't understood the words "the turbo can reduce the difference in torque",he wanted to say by "difference" the difference of torque between a petrol turbo car and a diesel car?and I have another question : the Turbo Diesel Injection engines are the best diesel engines?not all the engines, diesel and petrol, have injection? I heard that BMW has the best engines, and I saw on the BMW cars that there have just "D" engine a simple diesel engine with No Turbo,it is true?
@DDFDriver Yes, a typical 2.0 normaly aspirated petrol engine has around 200Nm of torque, while a 2.0 turbodiesel has typically around 320-340 Nm. But then, a normal 2.0 turbo petrol engine like 2.0TSI has a torque figure similar to a turbodiesel. My Scirocco 2.0TSI 20 is pushing exactly 217.2 bhp and 310.1 Nm of max torque, totally stock. The new Megane RS 250 has officially 340Nm, so a turbo petrol engine is above a turbodiesel engine because it has similar torque but more power.
@DDFDriver I wanted to say that I have Scirocco 2.0TSI 200, not 20... sorry. Continuing, you would need a bigger turbo diesel engine to win over a 2.0 turbo petrol. For example, one day I even won -although slightly- on the motorway against a brand new 2009 generation Audi A4 2.7TDI, which officially has 190bhp and 400Nm of torque, going in 5th and 6th gear.
@DDFDriver Today every diesel car is turbodiesel, diesels without turbo are not made anymore. Even although BMW only classifies its diesels as simply "d", like 120d, they are turbo'ed, and yes, by today, are curently the best diesel engines in he market. The 120d/320d is a little beast, a 2.0 single-turbo that in its latest version develops 184bhp and 350Nm of torque, and this is astonishing, as is the same power as the first 330d E46, which was a 3.0 liter 6-cyl engine from year 1999...
@alamos8 nice,so in future the engines will have smaller capacity and bigger performances 8-> :) so petrol cars are stronger than diesel cars, today diesel cars needs turbo,so a diesel car can have more turbos than a petrol car with the same capacity and to be more strong?and about Audi, the Audi A6 has 3.0 TDI and only 280km/h maximum speed, and a Volkswagen Passat or Skoda Octavia 1.9TDI reach 250km/h maximum speed,so Audi engines are not great,so Volkswagen engines are better than Audi engines
@DDFDriver No, you are slightly wrong. Generally speaking, Audi and VW share their engines, also with Seat and Skoda (VAG group engines), but sometimes, Audi is the first to incorporate certain improvements in some engines. For example, Audi for the A4 and A5 has a 2.0TSI 211bhp in a version that develops officially 350Nm, instead of the official 280Nm of the 2.0TSI mounted on Golf GTI, Scirocco 2.0TSI o Seat Leon FR. This because Audi has some privileges as being 'premium' brand in VAG group
@alamos8 yes I heard this thing that Audi has the same engine of VW but I was not very sure about that, that Audi A6 3.0 TDI has too much capacity and not enough speed,/watch?v=32E0G8Wzr0k look this video about that Audi A6 model,it is not brand new,I don't know the fabrication year of that model, and I was in a 2005 Audi A4 Hatchback 1.9TDI and is nice,it has torque,is a bit faster than 2007 Skoda Octavia Tour and has better handling,so Audi has bigger privileges than VW in VAG group?
