it is not a fixie if it were a true fixie it would have no brakes you would have to skid your back tire if you wanted to stop but i can see the brake lever on the right bar so no it isn't a fixie maybe a single speed but not a fixie.

@NIKESOCCERBOYZ get on a bike in real life, and you will learn that front brakes are key (75% vs. 25% rear .. something like that). skidding is just that ... skidding ... not stopping.

I always leave my front brakes just shy of being able to lock up the wheel and tighten the rear brakes down where I can lock the wheel up with the slightest touch, works for me, and very little skidding, it's called a Power Slide, you should learn it, if you can, snickers.

@sphinxrising58 i have met lots of people who do the powerslide thing .. though from what i can tell the time it takes to actually get into a slide and stop is longer than it takes me to apply brakes .. i've been ass over tea kettle before, of course, but that only happens once before a lesson is learned. :) .. to each his own at this point.

hey all, just to set the record straight, yes it definitely is fixed.

it's a fuji from the 80's that i picked up for $15, flop and chopped, stripped, fixed, so it became my daily rider. the rims are old and steel, suicide hub, no lockring but some locktite. 86 gear inches, but skidable due to geometry. been riding it like that for a few years. and she's a very lovely girl.
