Your not going to have the same style you did 20 years ago. Art is a progression.. Music is no exception. When you play it is not always about what your fans want but about what direction You want to take. Some times you leave the fans behind. I dont consider him a sell out.

fools? true to himself? in a negative way, ya. wheres the agression? the vocal technique, the vocal range? and the grunge? this man was in Soundgarden, and songs like Superunknown, Like Suicide, Jesus Christ Posse were awesome. his new material is garbage. if he were to reform with Soundgarden he'd be doing himself a world of gud... trust me and the other Soundgarden fans who wud love their comeback.

I'm not saying I wouldn't rather him start playing songs like that again, because I'd be lying if I did.
However, all I'm saying is as a musician myself I respect that he's doing what *he* wants, not what everyone else wants. He's got balls that a lot of people are severely lacking in today's music.
Just give him time, I can almost promise that he'll go back to his roots after he gets this out of his system.

uh huh alrighty, i understand you. i dont hate they guy since hes my idol, but i dont like some covers by this band - this song for instance. but the man is still is a frickin beast, and impresses me with the things he does. as u said hope he gets back to his roots.

He still sings great but he doesn't look like he is enjoying it as much - in saying that - must be hard to sing those songs for 15 years with the same anger. I think he can just control his voice better now so it's less effort.

Ben used fingers with soundgarden live but he played with a pick on tons of the recordings. give a listen to "never the machine forever" "ty cobb" "drawing flies" and "half" for some lines that are clearly picked. and when he played with Tadgarden for a short show, he used a pick live. so I don't know why you are so surprised that the bassist used a pick to cover soundgarden?!
