  • All of you dick heads that say this rig is too much fucking around, don't know about offshore game fishing. A trolled live bait can not be used the same way as this bait.

  • I guess I should have said "pitch" bait instead of "toss" bait, that is what we call them on my boat.

  • I keep seeing all these comments about using live bait...first off for those of yall who don't know, the bait rigged in this video is for blue marlin. Live bait is dynomite for marlin under certain conditions, however those conditions are not as common as the ones you would used a rigged mackerel in, Plus rigged mackerel are the number one "toss" bait for baiting and switching with blue marlin. I am assuming these comments are made by folks who havent fished much for blue marlin.

  • thanks for a great way to rig spanish mackerel my friend im sure it catches fish too . looking foward to pulling this in my spread. were looking for a larger presantion in our all bally hoo mix mainly for sails and whites. some nice blues in my area cant wait to give them a shot .patience and prep catch fish these other guys here are full of it and probally never saw a billfish up close so sad its awesome

  • that looks like a victim from a saw movie

  • Im amazed how many people just jump to "use live bait." The actual "art" of rigging bait is dying because of that thinking. It takes WAY more skill to rig, troll and catch fish using dead baits. I feel bad for all of you who cant rig a bait.

  • ...or you could put the hook through the head and throw it in the water

  • @bland158495 thats probbably why u dont catch nothing!

  • @luckyscootboy jokes on you wise guy cause i do in fact catch a lot of fish

  • seriously a waste of time doing that. For mackerel, normally i'll use 4 hooks in line just to make sure the fish gets either one of the hook. normally will be 3 hooks hooked to the mouth and body when i reel them up.

  • I agree. This is somewhat stupid. The amount of preparation is needless. I know it catches fish, but so many other quicker, simpler methods do. You've fashioned an amazing bait, sir, but you just can't beat slamming a live one through the body just forward of the dorsal fin.

  • thats alot of work, but

its what you need to do to make it swim.

  • That's perfect explanation

    thanks a lot sir

  • extremely educational sir, 30 seconds after watching I picked up a book on deep sea fishing in the english channel and read that instead

  • I prefer live bait, you don't have to fuck around alot with it...

  • I THINK I NITTED A SWEATER DOING DAT...=)

  • First Mate, PJ... you need help, dude.

  • Pure and urtter SHIT...

  • This is a legit rig. Not alot of guys take the time to debone an unweighted bait, but it does make a big difference. It'll swim well, but you gotta get it seated dead nuts center. I prefer to rig them with a little chin weight on the loop from my crimp to my hook. It's just easier to rig a pile of them that way when you need a lot of baits to fight through the toothy critters. Don't know why the wannabe's think a livie is even remotely applicable to what a rigged bait does.

  • live fish die... and what u throw them out ... NO ,,,,, if u fish as much as me u need to use dead bait unless ur rich...and even then .... y kill a fish for nothing....this is a prcice professional rig .... im sure it swims great

  • Just want to know.. What is the model and size of the circle hook you're using??

    Thanks

  • man who has the time to do all that? Those steps are totally unnecessary! so stupid!!!

  • i have some socks that need darning ,,i think your the man for the job ,,,oh and thanks very much for just wasting 4 minutes of my life you muvafcka

  • i wanna ask why the fuck did u poke out the eyes take the spine out and then to top it off sew it USE A LIVE MACKEREL POKE IT THROUGH THE NOSE AND UR DONE

  • this is stupid grab a live one it works just as good i could of caught 10 fish by the time you tied one of those

  • I don't understand the negative comments, spanish rigged like that are the "go to" bait in the northern gulf of mexico for big blues. It is a good rig and works. I found that if you secure the hook with the last tie as he did, it will meat up alot less than the hook riding free in front.

  • @greyghost61csa I was a charter boat mate for many years out of Hatteras and Oregon Inlet NC and you are absolutely right. Spanish is a great Blue Marlin Bait in the Carolinas. We had much success fishin them on an 80 or a 130 as a long shotgun bait off the bridge. I can pretty much bet most of the negative comments on here have never even been marlin fishing.

  • I don't recommend this rig. Too time consuming and probably wont work. The bait has to seem real to the fish. This just sucks.

  • What are you going for? shark rays etc?

you dont need to go to the point of pulling the spine out and rubish, just smash a circle hook straight thru where it is in the video and away she goes.

  • Whenever the baits dead I like to hook it from the belly and sew it up you get more hookups that way

  • whats the name of that song at the start of the video

  • WTF.

  • THAT RIG ITS CALLED "FRANKIE fISH" I THINK HE MISSED A COUPLE OF SCREWS

  • im twelve and i can do better...

  • LAME

  • whoever thought up that rig has too much time on their hands, way too much fucking around for a bait that doesn't even look natural when you're finished. Use livies, takes 30 seconds to rig and works better.

  • try it fuckface dont cuz call him a outsider cuz you cant do better, and yu cant this is better

  • Are you impaired in some way? I don't know who's comment you were replying to, but what you said doesn't even make sense much less have anything to do with my post, Fuckface.

  • tell yuor dad to wash his dick cuz ur breath smalls all the way here

  • @excelephant The whole point of rigging a dead bait...is the lack of live ones dude, if you want a good swimming bait it takes time to rig...

  • no bueno. With this rig the hook will meat up half the time. circle hook rig should be in front of and outside the baits nose.

  • All that bullshit for a pitchbait or a troller. just use live bait on a bridle rig. to much piss farting around

  • hey is it safe to use 80lb. braid for surf fishing?

  • u probably dont need line that strong

however braid line is very thin(with technology nowadays) is usually very think and u might hurt surfers or swimmers so u should try to fish where there is less people in the water

  • o yeah dont worry about it i fish far from other people

  • i used 40 sometime , i dont see why u cant use it . try it and tell me how it works

  • it works really good the sand doesnt seem to bother it much

  • its long but if you are trying to catch Marlins or Tuna..then that is the best way to go..make sure the bait is tight and secure because if not..then you will be changing bait every often, you will lose bait when you start trolling

  • WHAT KIND OF A FISH R U PLANNING TO CATCH FOR THAT BIG ASS BAIT THAT WONT DAMAGE ALL WHAT YOU PREPARED. ONE bite and thats it all your 5 minuts work is gone.

  • well u could make a bunch of em. and thats something u ctach sharks and and tuna

  • I ACTUALLY PREFER LIVE MACKERAL,

  • takes 2 long for 1 only...

  • I cant seem to remember but I think its for barracuda or blue marlin... deffinately barracuda!

  • hey what can you catch with that like barracuda ,tuna, dolphin,or,wahoo?

  • Nice !
