@Bootynomics: Elevating the heels is very common & acceptable, so forget all of the idiots. Yet, I would like to offer some pointers for better dorsiflexion (if you want them). Foam Rolling the soleus & gastroc (calf), anterior tibialis, & the quads.The 'inchworm' dynamic stretch, the Down & Up Dog from Yoga,or the 'Toes Elevated calf raise'-stand with the balls of your feet on a 4-8 inch object (plate,step) do a normal calf raise, but allow the heel to go below parallel on the (slow) descent.
Glad that you worked on and corrected your squats- a significant improvement in ROM and depth from previous vids- way to use those glutes! Weighlifting and/or powerlifting shoes are designed with an elevated heel and can take the place of having to use weight plates underneath your feet. Olympic Weightlifting shoes normally have the higher heel.. they can be found in such popular brands as Nike or Addidas (their $200 shoe is excellent) or lesser known but high quality brands.

@munukusama I was born with a caved-in lower back. My entire LPHC (lumbo-pelvic-hip-complex) is awkward and funny built. There's nothing I can do about that. So how I do certain exercises may not always work for other people.That's why I explained my way of doing a squat AND I explained the mainstream way to do a squat. If people can't follow clear instructions then you can't blame me at all. I did my job. But I do appreciate your concerns :-)

I did squats for years the 'traditional' way, keeping the back incredibly straight, the way 'mainstream' exercise science teaches. I had lower back trouble and knee pain for years. Then I started doing them similar to how you are showing, and all that went away. We are not all the same, and not all science works for everyone. xx

@Nya401 Just about any exercise you do for the glutes will work the thighs also. So yes, it's natural to feel it in your thighs. When I do squats I feel it more in my quads than my hamstrings.

Should you bother doing these types of exercises on a weightloss regime? Because it's not very likely that you'll pile on any muscle then, but do you think there would be at least some benefit to the shape or composition of your butt?
@MissLalaland89 Girl! You better still do those squats and resistance training during your weight loss regime! When that weight (fat) starts melting away you're going to start seeing the results from the resistance training. You're gonna be fine as hell! lol. You may not see the results from your weight training right this moment (because of the fat) but TRUST me, you will!!! I guarantee it! :-)
@jujajun99 Yeah, I know exactly what you mean and it's not attractive. Everyone has a different opinion though. Some say it's IMPOSSIBLE to build muscle on a calorie deficit diet, but screw that. I'm gonna work my ass off regardless (literally) lol.
@MissLalaland89 well, I have changed my diet to fewer calories. I feel like I have been freed from food. I have to say, I focus on my hormones and thyroid now, my nutrition is key, bc I have some supplements from Prograde that are geared toward supporting you as you workout and build muscle to get leaner and lose inches. I feel that the science makes sense more than a focus on calories, like nutrition imo makes you get the build you want. just my opinion.

@shanshel1 This is one subject that's always debatable. I have read many time that as long as your thighs are parallel to the floor, you are good. Some people like to "deep squat" which means taking your butt close to the floor or the back of your heels. I normally don't "deep squat".
Does that particular excerise make your butt bigger? How many should we be doing? and, how many sets for a complete hip, butt and thigh workout? OAN...thanks buffie!
@MRSFORD2B Yes, it can make the muscles in your butt bigger. As far as weight, you would have to start off with something light and workout your way up to heavier weights. I can't tell you the exact amount because I don't know anything about your health or fitness level. I do know it's a progression. You can't start off lifting heavy weight until your health and body has had a full assessment by someone who's qualified to do so. The last thing you would want to do is injury yourself.

Add some dead lifts to your lower body workouts if your not doing it already.. It will add a different dynamic to your workout besides lunges and squats..

buffie's butt is real...all who are making comments obviously don't know how she started out...and anyone who knows about fitness knows that if you do ass exercise and add protein (at least 2 scoups of 25 grams) to every workout you will gain at least 2" per week. Shes been on the protein and butt exercises for years that why her ass is so big and toned. But its not for the weak. requires a lot of effort. But her ass is real

I would like to keep my same weight and exercise to build muscle..but everytime I exercise after I eat..i notice the next day I lose 2lbs.. :( If I want to keep my same weight or gain more weight...should i eat after or before I exercise..my weight keep going up n down.. Please help Thanks

@Nya401 Just about any exercise you do for the glutes will work the thighs also. So yes, it's natural to feel it in your thighs. When I do squats I feel it more in my quads than my hamstrings.

Buffy, you are amazing. I love your vids and you know you look incredible! I wanted to ask something because everyone has a different opinion. Should you bother doing these types of exercises on a weightloss regime? Because it's not very likely that you'll pile on any muscle then, but do you think there would be at least some benefit to the shape or composition of your butt?

@MissLalaland89 Girl! You better still do those squats and resistance training during your weight loss regime! When that weight (fat) starts melting away you're going to start seeing the results from the resistance training. You're gonna be fine as hell! lol. You may not see the results from your weight training right this moment (because of the fat) but TRUST me, you will!!! I guarantee it! :-)

@jujajun99 Yeah, I know exactly what you mean and it's not attractive. Everyone has a different opinion though. Some say it's IMPOSSIBLE to build muscle on a calorie deficit diet, but screw that. I'm gonna work my ass off regardless (literally) lol.

@MissLalaland89 well, I have changed my diet to fewer calories. I feel like I have been freed from food. I have to say, I focus on my hormones and thyroid now, my nutrition is key, bc I have some supplements from Prograde that are geared toward supporting you as you workout and build muscle to get leaner and lose inches. I feel that the science makes sense more than a focus on calories, like nutrition imo makes you get the build you want. just my opinion.

@shanshel1 This is one subject that's always debatable. I have read many time that as long as your thighs are parallel to the floor, you are good. Some people like to "deep squat" which means taking your butt close to the floor or the back of your heels. I normally don't "deep squat".

@MRSFORD2B Yes, it can make the muscles in your butt bigger. As far as weight, you would have to start off with something light and workout your way up to heavier weights. I can't tell you the exact amount because I don't know anything about your health or fitness level. I do know it's a progression. You can't start off lifting heavy weight until your health and body has had a full assessment by someone who's qualified to do so. The last thing you would want to do is injury yourself.

Add some dead lifts to your lower body workouts if your not doing it already.. It will add a different dynamic to your workout besides lunges and squats..
