  • I like how what's her name from that forgettable comedy show is in the front seat but getting no action and just agreeing with how this and that person is a comedy genius.

  • There is often talk of Peter Cook as a 'tragic figure' in later life but I wonder sometimes how true that is. Certainly Fry's attack on the media just after Peter's death suggests it's false, but most crucially, Peter's wife Lin doesn't seem to agree with that notion either. That aside, he's in the pantheon...Sellers is right there with him.

  • @spaceoreo the stuff he did with Christopher Morris is legendary and I think it was recorded less than a year before his death

  • Agree with him or not, surely one of the most interesting intellects of the 20th century.

  • Clone Jonathan Miller!

  • who is JERRYATRIX00 IS HE JUST COPYING MY NAME???

  • one spelling mistake boo hoo do you know miller pesonally or are you just a dreamer

  • to be honest i am going to collage to study history and english literature and i intend to go to university also. if an acting thing comes up then great but i think that just incase i dont get very far in acting ive got options

  • It's called college.

  • on saturday 14 dec I had a delightful brunch of quasonts and chocolate with jonathan and his two sons william and tom and his daughter kate, jonathan advised me not to go to acting collage as it narrows my options instead of broadening them

  • I personally think that to commit to collage (sic) is better than a montage or what that ruddy French word is, don't you think old cock?

  • to be honest i am going to collage to study history and english literature and i intend to go to university also. if an acting thing comes up then great but i think that just incase i dont get very far in acting ive got options

  • Erm... you mean 'croissants and chocolate'... don't you?

Oh! and the way you spell 'collage'... are you sure you ought to be taking English Lit? You wouldn't prefer taking up a trade perhaps?

  • Like sign-making perhaps?

  • Haha yeah... well, no haha

  • Or one could ignore the Millers and pursue the quosant collage option. Collage...university. Shouldn't kindergarten be somewhere in between?

  • I met him last year walking through Camden. A great bloke

  • Miller seems like a good guy, but I don't think the same can be said for "the two Peters". Supremely talented, yes, but their shoddy behaviour over the years towards those who cared for them can't be discounted.

  • what an extraordinary comment from someone who knows fuck all!

feeel free to meet up for a fight if you want

    defaming characters on youtube

  • You can't defame the dead.

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Miller at George Melly's funeral last year. We were having a chat whilst waiting for the cardboard box to arrive and a woman came over and did the "It's you, but I can't quite remember your name" routine. He led her on with just about every name under the sun from Tony Blair to george himself and it was hilarious. George would have loved it. As you say he is a man of character and integrity, damn decent chap.

  • On what grounds do you make your accusation?

  • Jonathan Miller. A relic from the days when Parkinson would invite guests wih character and intelligence.

What is it we are compelled to invest in these days? Some new contraption from SKY. Then again, maybe his fee went to some charity. No, I think he's sold himself out like everyone else.

Nonetheless, kudos on bringing that 'Meg Ryan' character to task. I will always remember the old Parkinson.

  • It is all about the fortunes of the cat. If the Rolls hit the cat, it is bad for the cat. If the Rolls missed the cat, it is good for the cat.

Being a passenger in the Rolls might make you philosophical.

  • such a huge pity that Peter Cook and Dudley Moore had to compete with each other. I think the pair were uncomparable when they were at their best together.

  • I met Miller on a street in NYC in 97 or so- recognized him and walked up to him, we talked for about 20 minutes- it was one of the coolest things that ever happened to me.

  • Somebody clone Jonathan Miller, please.

  • I bumped into him the other day - a charming man and, yes, a definite candidate for the Dolly the sheep treatment.

  • no meera's interviews were in 2004 and 2007 please could someone put them both up would be much appreciated :D x

  • wow for some reason this rly tugs at my hearts strings, I guess it's the peter cook stuff, sadly missed, I haven't seen miller in years, he's fantastically funny and clever, but it came as a shock to see how much he's aged, but wow great guy, thanks for putting it up

  • can someone put on all of meera syals interview on this show. the interview in 2004 aswell would be much appreciated :D x

  • Dr. Miller is always a joy to watch. And this clip is fun.

  • Jonathan Miller must also be one of the cleverest and most interesting people to grace this planet.

  • Indeed!!!!! Pure intellectual delight!!!!
