  • hey from New Zealand, I just stumbled across your videos and wanted to say you guys are such an inspiration and i believe so much in what your doing. I'm 16 years old and straight and believe as long as your a good person it doesn't matter what color skin or sexuality you are. At my school there is a 17 yr old boy who just came out and it breaks my heart that some people (only a few) are so mean to him just because he isnt the same as them. What you guys are doing is changing lives so thankyou x

  • I hate when people make fun of gays!! They r people too and just as amazing as us all, I support gay rights!

  • Check out the KERMIT THE FROG U Tube video about how it's not easy B-ing GREEN!!! He actually had some of THE best advice I saw on this particular issue in a while. Some-1 prior 2 me indicated something about how parents were abdicating responsibility. GEE, ya THINK???!!! I've known quite a few people in public education, & it's almost PATHETIC how much c**pola the parents apparently "unload" on-2 their kids' teachers!!! Name 3 of your kids' teachers. Then name 3 supermodels or movie stars.

  • Its ashame, that bullying is bad enough to when, teenagers, and adults are taking their own lives. No one should be bullied, but if you are being bullied, then, please talk to someone about it. So, you can find a resolution.

  • Bullying and harassment are such disgusting and immature behaviors. We're all special and we're all God's children. We're all different and we need to be loved for being who we are.

  • Why do people even call it "bullying"? In the real world, thats called harassment. People go jail for stuff like that in real life. So why don't they receive punishments in school?

Oh, because Little Johnny is an angel, right? Perfect child, right?

I think half of these tormentors would stop ASAP if their parents pulled their heads out of their rears and did some verbal and/or physical whupass on their kids who need somebody to set them straight.

  • i remember getting picked on in school because of my parents and it only stopped when i found it in myself to fight back. No law can protect you you have to do that for yourself!

  • I so sick that people think that free speech means that they have the right to threaten and insult whoever they want, like they have a free pass to make innocent people suffer for no reason. BULLYING IS ALWAYS WRONG

  • will you guys visit gay youth group too (like you told me?). not sure they will let you film there (privacy issues). maybe visit a GSA?

    nice work guys!

  • We have had enough! we have to proactively talk to the gay kids, help them find their strength. It starts with self acceptance, and self love. Bullys cant hurt you, if YOU dont let them.

    1 LIFE

  • £- I want bullying to stop no more kid killing them selves too much sadness and regret :(

  • such a great graphics in this video ... <3

  • morning

    happy sunday how are you

    have a safe week

  • That pitty and lamb pic was adorable <3

  • @Huboons There is a difference between teasing and BULLYING

  • @depfox Yes. bullying by definition must include physical intimidation. Calling someone a faggot isn't bullying. Also, If more gays would beat that ass when someone runs their mouth instead of whining about it it, you might get better results.

  • @Huboons Bullies tend to pick on people they perceive as weak...If any man ever calls me a slur that starts with F they will live to regret it...I think real mean also stand up for those that cant stand up for themselfs. If you stand by and watch allow a person to be harassed or bullied then you are just as pathetic as the bully

  • @depfox "if you stand by and watch allow a person to be harassed or bullied then you are just as pathetic as the bully" Horse shit. I do not owe anyone protection. Identity based collectivism is the end of free will, if you can't stand up for yourself that has nothing to do with me.

  • @depfox Mostly I do agree. But I think by allowing yourself to react to their slur-- calling you an F word-- you're degrading yourself to become someone easily provoked by something small. I mean, falling someone an F word is an awful, terrible thing. But because of the international hate of LGBT, most people will come across people who call them by the F word. "Live to regret it" because some random person calls you a mean word is not a good way to react.

  • @depfox I SUPPOSE that is better than saying he WON'T live 2 regret it or tell the tale. But, GOOD GRIEF. I still think rather little of the way @ least 1 of U keeps responding, both actively in this channel, & then theoretically out "in real life," 2 people who R doing similar things. There IS a theory that this kind of thing can actually EMPOWER the bullies on a far subtler level, actually. I agree that there is a difference B-tween teasing & bullying, 2. Fight fire with WATER, folks. :%)

  • @depfox

    You FRIED POTATO!

  • @Huboons Not true ! bullying absolutely includes name calling, esp when that kid is fragile, could also turn deadly.

  • @sleekcartim "bullying absolutely includes name calling" Nope, you're just pussy who can't handle himself if you think that. And if you can't you're going to get fucked with when you're younger. Gay's don't have any special claim to that. Everyone gets fucked with.

  • @Huboons Everyone dies, that doesn't mean we don't try and cure diseases that cause death faster or try and prevent people from dying in many ways.

You're a bully yourself. Bullying is something that people accept, when they shouldn't. We can change it, but only if people like you stop being bullies themselves and leave the "deal with it" bullshit at the door.

Can't better the world for future generations when people like you cling to archaic ways of thinking.

  • @elvickRULES Sorry, I'm not a bully. You're just someone whose whole identity is that of victim.

  • @Huboons If anyone would know it would be someone in passing, on the internet, thank you for your insight! :D

  • @Huboons

Advocating devolution, are we? .. and they feared Darwinism.

  • @Huboons Yes there is freedom of speech but when you use words to tear someone down it is called verbal abuse and is a form of bullying

  • @Huboons With freedom OF speech comes responsibility FOR speech. Dictionary (dot) com defines "bully" as "a blustering, quarrelsome, overbearing person who habitually badgers and intimidates smaller or weaker people." What would be your purpose in calling someone a "faggot" other than to be judgemental, overbearing, badgering and quarrelsome? - The definition of a bully. Kids these days -and every day- deserve better.

  • @KarmicBook Does it sound like I agree with the dictionary definition of bullying? I believe in freedom, you do not. You wanting to tell someone they can't call you a faggot is no different than someone else telling you you shouldn't be allowed to be gay. You're all the same collectivists trying to control others behavior.

  • @Huboons I see. So you make up your own definitions. So, what's your definition of "freedom"? Nowhere did I attempt to control your behavior. I simply excersized my freedom to tell you what I think of it ,

  • @KarmicBook "Nowhere did I attempt to control your behavior" Should there be laws controlling "hateful" speech? Do you believe in "hate" crime laws?

  • @Huboons Shut up you fucking breeder piece of shit, go suck on some fat bitch's asshole, I know you like it.... See? doesn't feel good does it? to have someone attack you for who you are, try acting a little more human next time. Stop defending homophobic bullies

  • @alinkyng "doesn't feel good does it?" It doesn't feel anything at all. You're just running your mouth because I'm telling you things you know are true but don't want to hear. It interferes with the fantasy world you've built up around being a victim.

  • @Huboons I'm not a victim, I live in a country where people DON'T use free speech to spew their hateful bigotry and death threats to kids. Is it so much to ask that people act like tolerant and civil human fucking beings, or are you to addicted to being an asshole?

  • @alinkyng Buck up little pussy, life is unfair. If you think hanging out and naval gazing with others whose primary identity is that of victim is going to stop someone from fucking with you, you are fooling yourself. Learn to fight. Learn to how to operate a firearm. have the capability to defend yourself.

  • @Huboons I CAN defend myself, 12 year olds CAN'T, they don't have the proper life skills to 'get over it' at that age, they just absorb everything people say about them. Why the hell is it so goddamn important for you to defend bullies and piss on the victims?

  • @alinkyng "12 year olds CAN'T" Well that's garbage first of all. Second, how am I defending bullies? I'm for freedom and individuality, not mindless identity based collectivism, which is what this cult is offering. Lastly who is pissing on victims? Not me, in fact I'm the only one here offering real advice for them. This group actually has nothing to do with being gay or standing up for gay rights, its a support group for the weak minded, just like any other religion.

  • @Huboons I'm sick of your nazi ideology, why the fuck is it so hard for you to accept that not everyone is strong? what, are we supposed to just let them die? fuck off, you have no place in modern society.

  • @alinkyng Kids if you start down the path of this pity-party horse shit, you are going to be one sad perma-victim just like Alink here. If someone fucks with you, WHATever the reason, stand up to them. Otherwise, get an education, and none of this liberal arts bullshit. A degree in the hard sciences or other tech fields will serve you well. Being productive and good at what you do will serve you far better in life than self indulgent tantrum throwing because someone doesn't like you.

  • @Huboons a hateful word from a stranger is one thing. being destroyed emotionally daily by people who dont know you or dont care to know you is completely different. and a real man isnt someone who has to pick a fight with someone weaker then them just cause they dont have the balls to face someone just like them. or in fact them selves. you seem to think that every person is the same. a person is weak by the cruelty he has to exert to feel good about him self. thats weakness.

  • @caciquepadilla A real man is someone who is male. And that's all it is. I value freedom over identity. You obviously value your identity over freedom.

  • @Huboons and you cant talk shit about a lot of things but you are not the one being told that you should die for just being who you are, not even just for being gay. for being smart or for being a good artist or for being a good writer. these are the people being "picked on" no its not being picked on its being abused. freedom of speech lets you say whatever you want, true, but it does not give anyone the right to treat others with so much hatred that the other person kills themselves.

  • Bullying should stopped being considered as something "normal". We Greeks say "Although a tongue has no bones, it can break bones by what we say". I think teachers should be educated on how to handle bullying and on how damaging bullying can be to a child's soul and life. The teachers are the ones who can identify first actions of bullying, but they often don't do anything against them!!

  • thats a BIG coffee cup.... and it should stop NOW <3

  • It just frightens me how horrible kids are to one another especially in this day and age of supposed progressive thinking. It saddens me so very much. I'm so sorry to hear that kids were mean to Daniel...hugging you all!!!!

  • Why does it take a suicide to light a fire under these people's butts to DO SOMETHING? And the "something" usually winds up being a "promise" to institute a "program" , along with assertion that the system did its best, as a propagation of its self-defense. Documentations have shown that the "system" was well aware of the situation BEFORE the student took that final fatal step.

  • It always amazes me how clueless school administrators can be when it comes to bullying. I say clamp down HARD! And they know sure as shit who the bullies are. But a lot of them are terrified of the litigation they might face because of it.

  • did you know you were asked to help out with a rally for the 14 year old kid who killed himself that was to be held in San Francisco and we never heard from you.

  • @twopearlsoaps No I didnt know that where did you ask us?

  • @depfox On Google +, but it has been canceled.

  • @twopearlsoaps yes they didnt like our name we were suspended we have a google plus account as Bryan Leffew now

  • Hey Bryan, great video! I really am a huge advocate for the project It Stops Now, but I wanted to bring to your attention a wonderful website called WeStopHate, com. It was started by a wonderful girl named Emily and the purpose of the website is to stop bullying by showing kids that they are beautiful just as they are, because if kids are happy with themselves they won't feel the need to bully others. Just thought I'd share. Hope you have a great week. RIP Jaime.

  • I wonder if I could do anything at all. I'm a 40-some surivior of bullying and lifelong mental illness-I have bipolar II. I was what's called a "bully-victim" by social workers. I was bullied, but if I found someone even lower on the pecking order than me, I wouldn't pass up the chance to even it up. I also fought my bullies. I have anger issues to this day.

Sometimes I'd like to talk to kids at my old school. But I have no one to recommend me.

  • Great speech brian, but what is the best way to get involved? Im scared when Lucas goes to school that he will get picked on due to his family structure and I wont know what to do to help him.

  • @TheLancasterDads I think the most important thing you can be for your kid is fighting the fights he might not be strong enoufe to fight. if he gets bullied at school and the school doesnt do their job...Its your job to bully the school.

  • wow they said they're glad a person died?

  • i got molested by a teacher everyday for over a year, the school had him "resign" that's it. he destroyed everything i had, and things i didn't know i had yet. i was already struggling with my sexuality, trying to come out to friends, and that all started. i was a cutter, and bulimic, i tried to kill myself several times, and the bulimia was destroying my kidney's so i ended up in the ICU with sepsis, which can be deadly very easily, my grandma had just died of it before i got it.

  • @PaulaAbdulRoxxxx6 wow have you ever sued him or the school?

  • @depfox no, but i want to. the school said they were making a case of it but it's been like two years.... i had to spend the whole day within 20 feet of him bcuz he was my uncle's friend's friend, they verbally told him to stay away from me, but that's not enough. he should ahave just left.

  • @PaulaAbdulRoxxxx6 you will never be happy untill you stand up for your self...make a police report and then sue the school

  • @depfox i think when i turn 18 i will, im pretty sure its not too late then, but a family member found out and told everyone, and said i told her daughter and said nasty things about my relatives which obviously isnt true , so its even more of a touchy subject now ....

  • a new one but, I am glad I am not there any more. That work experiance was horrible. People need to try to get along with everyone. The sad fact is that child bullies grow up to be adult bullies and some time they are high powered people the rest of us need to work with.

  • I want to mention that another thing that needs to go is bullying in the work place! Although I do have great friends and a nice life, I would be sick every day before going to work. I would literally stick my finger down my throat to relieve stress every morning because I knew I was going to be made the scape goat so often at work. I worked in a preschool and my lead teacher was just nasty. She couldn't stand people being different from her. In the end I lost that job and I am looking for (c

  • Although I am not gay I was always a quiet little girl and I got picked on constantly in elementry school. I was told that I had my own special germs and i could infect others with them. I was constantly teased and one day as I was walking into the play ground I was jumped and beat up by a bunch of other kids. I was encouraged to try and make friends by the teachers and my parents but, no one ever stopped the bullies. Luckily it stopped in middle and highschool but, bullying has impacted me.

  • this is a moral issue, you're asking people to adjust their morals when everyone has different ideas of what is moral and what is not moral.

  • Agreed that we need to help and step in but I'm at a loss of what to do. I just think it's important if we ever have the opportunity to give advice that they keep on trying different attempted "solutions" that are different until things actually change in their situation. A lot of times parents have one (stupid) suggestion and it doesn't work and that's all a kid will do. It's especially hard when it's groups of kids and not just one. It can be hard for a kid to have confidence to do anything.

  • I had such a hard time in school as a kid. Some kids fake being sick cause they dont wanna go to school, some kids really are sick, and some kids arent faking, but they dont have a cold yet they are still sick. I would get so worked up in panic attacks from the fear of having to go to school each morning, i would be physically sick, i would throw up and be very ill. The things that happened at school were bad. no child should have to go though that at school.

  • @Chibiicap What happened? What kinds of stuff was going on?

  • @SillyGayBoy I was ridiculed for everything different about me. Im transgendered but back then i was just the kid they always asked "are you a boy or a girl?" i hated that question. most of the time it was just the teachers and students both and it was a small town, i just dont remember anything positive. if it wasnt fat jokes, it was jokes about how i didn't act like the other kids, and people used to push me around. if they had known the truth i probably would have got more shit

  • Cool background guys. And thank you for posting this.

  • Thank you for making this video! Really practical solution. Everyone should do this to protect the ones they love.

  • My partner and I are talking about adopting and this kind of stuff is scary... He has been through the parenting a child in school but thinking about my child being bullied makes me sad. I hope that when one day I am a parent that I can follow your example

  • Great video Bryan!

Bullying among our youth is a significant problem and it is steadily increasing. Many experts fear bullying has become so widespread and common, adults are blinded to its extensive harm.

American schools harbor approximately 2.1 million bullies and 2.7 million of their victims. Dan Olweus, National School Safety Center

BULLYING MUST BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. TOO MANY CHILDREN ARE

BEING EMOTIONALLY OR PHYSICALLY INJURED DUE TO MEANNESS.

It does need to stop and stop now!

  • I am not a parent but i do understand bullies and school as i had to go through it my entire life and only just recently said enough. Some parents like mine could care less if their kid came home bleeding or beaten for being a queer and marked as such. I know there were many times i tried to kill myself many times i wanted to die and my schooling suffered i faked illnesses and didnt graduate but as i am 45 now i look on it and wish this movement was there for me back then. Thank You Guys

  • It should get better for those poor kids right now, It's sad that they would have til their older to find some sort of peace.

  • suspending that many kids would really hurt the schools budget, because of attendance reasons.

  • @OneJumpFromEden Once kids understand that bullying will not be allowed and teachers are making people examples...Kids will stop the abuse...Kids only do what they know they can get away with.

  • @OneJumpFromEden Actually, that would depend on the state. In Michigan, there are two count days each year. Payments are made to the school according to those counts. And even students who are suspended would still be counted because it would be considered an excused absence.

  • Parents or guardians need to be a child's advocate when they are being mistreated at school, be it by a teacher or a student, because some school administrators listen and respond to parents or guardians better than they listen and respond to students. Its as if they think the only people who should be taken seriously must be adults.

  • Great video. I remember in elementary school getting teased for my name and it bothered me a little. I only complained once though as I was told by a teacher or maybe it was the principal... but anyway I was told that I should just suck it up and deal with it essentially. I was told it was preparing me for the adult world. Well you know what? When I first got into the 'adult world' after graduating from high school I never was treated that way or teased. I felt lied to.

    - Heidi

  • very proud that you used my artwork in the background. thanks. And, great views, schools need to be stronger and show an example to the kids.

  • how are u my friends from micheal in eire ireland

  • Suspending students is not good enough. It only gives them time off from school ! I think their grades need to suffer...I think the parents should be called and spoken to IN PERSON not on the phone...and after that if their child continues to bully then the parents needs to be held responsible for it. Including prosecution in a court of law. We're talking about a victims LIFE....and the bully and his parents should be held accountable for being an accomplice to ending his victims life.

  • @wiannoboy I'm a huge proponent of IN-SCHOOL suspensions. No watching tv or playing video games all day. Work is done under the eye of a school employee but there is no mingling with friends. I would be in favor of kids who are disciplined this way for bullying having to do research about the subject and present a report to the administration.

  • @debbieomi ..I completely agree with you ! IN-SCHOOL is excellent ! Your suggestion is brilliant...thanks !

  • <3 the background too.

  • excellent message and a really great vid! .. =D

  • The bully at school needs to be reported to both his parents and the principal of the school. Unfortunately the child who is the victim is usually to embarassed to tell anyone. SO where does that leave us? I think it is up to teachers AND parents to somehow find out . Ask questions. Have a one hr a wk classroom discussion. Have teachers observe hallways between classes. Appoint students as "hall monitors" and reward them with extra credit. Exposing a bully can be tough but it can be done.

  • agree with every word. Right now. Also - the art in the background. Like WOW!

  • FINALLY... i also made a video talking about how i feel the It Gets Better Campaign is flawed.

  • Bryan this is a great campaign but it needs a comprehensive plan to reach the school officials and those in charge. Maybe legislation to the school boards giving them a how to deal with students who are bullies dicipline action that is consistent with all schools and clearly enforced. I do not work in the school system but they must have enforcement guidelines for other unacceptable behaviors. School systems are behind and so are the laws - who can bring them up to speed fast on this subject?

  • @b4804514 I think Lady GAGA is fighting for a Law against bullying...I support her a 100%

  • By far one of the best videos you two have done on taking action with a cause.

  • Being truly bullied has effects that often last a lifetime. Alter a person for the rest of their lives. It's a really big deal.

  • It doesn't cost anything to be decent to other people. I know bullies have problems but if they take it out on other people then how does it create fruit. If they have problems they should seek help instead of bringing others down. Love instead of hate and fear. In the words of Bill Hicks, It requires no effort, all you have to do is choose love over fear.

  • Bullying is a part of growing up? OUTRAGEOUS! Bullying also will lead to incidents like COLUMBINE! If you push a human psyche far enough, you will wind up with either a suicide or other senseless deaths. Schools that do nothing to prevent bullying have as much blood on their hands as the bully themselves. I personally think that Jamey's principal should be fired and refused to even have anything to do with kids. As for the Jamey's bullies...they'll learn their lesson soon enough...

  • @Lanedude08 I agree that the people at schools need to be held responsible for not doing their jobs

  • Comment removed

  • @Lanedude08 In our elementary building, the person in charge of the responsibility center (where kids are sent for certain behaviors, they have to write a plan about what they did, what they should have done and how to avoid the wrong choices in similar situations) was one of those "boys will be boys" kind of people. She would excuse away all kinds of behaviors and not make the kids take responsibility for their choices.

  • It finally took many parents and employees documenting our complaints for her to be removed from that position.

  • @debbieomi

And when one of those kids grows up to be a drug-addicted wife-beater, she can look back and say "I failed that child."

Seriously, this shit makes me wonder why we even have public schools.

  • @Lanedude08 Sadly, that describes her own twin boys. Of course, she has excuses for them now, laying most the blame on their father, her ex-husband. It scares me to know that there are so many more people just like her in this world. :-/

  • Great plan and action. And, I like the speed-creation in the background. Very clever.

  • So sad that his dad didn't accept him. Such a waste of the short time we all get to spend on this earth.

  • you explained this way better than I did...

  • Thank you for this, it's nice to see good parents fighting back against this problem.
