I can't understand Cat Stevens embracing another religion when he can directly beseech god if there really is a god who allowed Hitler to butcher 6 million Jews, Stalin with 10 million people and many countless others when he is all merciful, all powerful all knowing etc etc. Sure if there is a God who Mr. Stevens believe has all the good qualities he will not allow these abominations to happen but sadly it did because there is no god as sure as there are no gods in olympus.

Most Muslims are sincere and nice people but islam's theology is wrong. Just one error proves that the Quran does not come from God, who is not confused. The Quran does have mistakes-very notably it says Jesus did not die, that he was not crucified. That is a historical fact. His death was recorded by early Roman historians as well as in the Jewish Talmud.

@alonePhan -I might question it if it was only one historian or not Roman ones. They were very intolerant of mistakes especially for something as serious as their own government's records. Death was often the penalty for mistakes then so I don't think that their own historians who were not Christians would have any reason to includes lies about Jesus' death and crucifixion unless they were reporting facts.

@fearworshipGod Yes Muhammed (pbuh) said Jesus was a prophet that chosen by Allah, and we muslims accept Jesus as a prophet. The thing is, Muhammed (pbuh) is superior to all other prophets and the Quran is superior to older holy books. What is written in bible is not exactly true. The original form of bible was changed after his being raised to the heaven by Allah. Thats why those differences etc occured. Jesus even heralded that a Messenger (Muhammed pbuh) wil come.
@alonePhan -That is islam's big claim but God has always protected His Word, which we still have today. It tells us to be careful of spirits that will try to deceive us. Muhammad got the Quran from a spirit that he originally believed was a jinn. He ran from the cave in fear but his wife and her blind cousin (who were not in the cave) convinced him it was not a jinn but the angel Gabriel. I think Muhammad was right at the beginning and shouldn't have listened to his wife's advice.
@fearworshipGod Yes Allah protected His word and will. There were several sigs about Muhammed's (pbuh) birth and becoming the messenger of Allah that some people were aware of it, before Allah sends him Gabriel.

In the Bible it says we are not to judge, meaning that we are not to judge people's hearts but we are told to judge people's teachings and doctrines. It is because I do not judge people's hearts that I try to point out that Jesus said he was the final messenger -that he was God's own son sent to earth to give eternal life to all who believe in him. I believe in God and His unchanging Word.

Jesus referred to God as 'Father' in general for every one as an expression of love with God. He said Thy Father, Our Father, Your Father.... so why should we call only Jesus as the son of God? Son of God is the same as servant of God in Hebrew. I think Didache clarifies this concept conclusively.

Jesus was crucified solely for his claim to be God's own son, not for being just a "normal" son of God or prophet. The Jews said it was blasphemy.
@fearworshipGod According to Exodus 4:22, Israel is the son of God, even the first born. In Psalms 2:7 David is referred to as the begotten son of God. These statements are expressed with the same affection as 'God's OWN son' that you refer to and make Israel and David even more closer to God. So is Jesus the ony son of God? Clearly not! In 'John 10:36' Jesus is clearly surprised as to why there is a blasphemy if he called himself as 'God's Son' where other prophets beofre him had that title.

The farther you go from the period of Jesus the more divine you wil find him. If you read Jn17:1-4, Jesus is praying to God, asking for his help, begging him and calling Him the Only True God. And you call Jesus god? If Jesus was there before the world began who was his mother then? Are we missing someone in the Trinity?

Do you see that we are not reading God's word? The man who is asking these questions is saying that he is stupid and he does not understand anything. He is asking about the men(not God) who have done these things. Sorry, there is no mention of Trinty in the OT.
@simplefacts100 -The CEV is not a version a scholar would use. It was a version introduced to simplify the Bible for people with little Bible training. The most commonly versions used are the NIV, KJV, NKJV. We have different versions just like the Quran has different versions.
The (nonChristian)Jewish translation(JPS) of the last part of Prov.30:4 is :" Who hath established all the ends of the earth? {N}What is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou knowest?"
@fearworshipGod 'Good News Translation' and 'The Message' use similar language(plurals). So, you wont use these versions also? Clearly here the man who identifies himself as 'stupid' is asking vague questions about the men and their children who have done these things, and trying to express that only God can do these things. Whichever version you take the 'Children' being referred to are of men.

@fearworshipGod The fact that you would need to decide which version you will use tells you that it is not the word of God. Quran has only one text (Arabic). If we need to refer to anything we go back to the Arabic text and interpret it. All other texts in other languages are interpretation of Quran or translation of Quran. My friend, if you accept 'God, your Lord is One God' you will not have to face these complications. I will pray to God to show you the right path. Amen.

@fearworshipGod Jn 5:18-22 clarifies further as to how the writer of the Gospel of John tried to raise the divinity of Jesus and conflicted/contradicted himself. I guess you will agree that 5:18 are the words of the writer of this Gospel, not of Jesus(and hence not from God). Jesus is clarifying in 5:19-21 that he was not equating himself to God and that he could do nothing by himself. Will you still not believe?

@alonePhan -I don't want to offend you but what endears people to the Quran is the Scriptures that come from the Bible. Even though Muhammad was illiterate, he was not stupid and knew some of the Scriptures which he had learned from the Jews and the Christians, as well as from his own family. Jesus' gospel was not rewritten by his own disciples-they died cruel deaths for their witness. Thousands were converted right after Jesus' death & resurrection by people who knew that Jesus had died.

@alonePhan -Muhammad was a trader and met many people as he travelled. His wife's cousin Waraqa was a Christian. There were of course Jews in the vicinity-Bukhari Vol. 6, Bk 60,# 12: "Narrated Abu Huraira: The people of the Scripture (Jews) used to recite the Torah in Hebrew and they used to explain it in Arabic to the Muslims."
@fearworshipGod Do you know that these Gospels were written 60 to 140 years after Jesus? And that they were copied thousands of times from copies made from copies. And that none of these Greek copies are identical. If you align these copies according to the dates of writing you will see the elevation of Jesus in divinity. If any of the other 20+ Gospels had made it to the Canon you would be arguing a completely different line today. Do you have a Gospel wihtout any author(Mark,etc) attached?
@simplefacts100 - The oldest pieces of the Quran date about 200 years after Muhammad's death. Today's Quran may or may not be what Muhammad taught-no one knows.
The Quran today has errors in it, tho' like- sperm coming from the rib area, the earth being egg shaped, the stages of embryology, saying it confirms the previous Scriptures, says Noah & Moses called God "Allah"(which was impossible since the arab language didn't exist then and the prophets spoke Hebrew), etc.
@fearworshipGod There are manuscripts that are available from much earlier period, at least 150 years before that. Even if we assume that the earliest copy is from 200 years after Mohammed(pbuh), the way of distribution at that time,besides memorizing the text,was to make copies from copies. If any copy is different from the other at any point the whole line of further copies would be different, which is clearly not the case since all the copies, old manuscripts and new ones are exactly the same
@simplefacts100 Memorizing something doesn't prove anything about its truthfulness. Many parts of the Quran are similar to the Scriptures, other parts aren't.
The Quran says Jesus was a true prophet and taught correctly. The Quran tells Christians of Muhammad's day to "stand fast by the Law, the Gospel"-In the Gospel Jesus said he was God's own son, that he would be killed at Passover, that he would rise again on the third day, that he was the last messenger, a man is to marry only one wife...
@fearworshipGod Memorizing does make a difference! clearly seen from the preservation of Quran and the Bible. By 'Scriptures', are you referring to Biblical texts? There will be some similarities and those subjects are described in Quran in a more beautiful and comprehensive ways.

@fearworshipGod, Allah="The God"- The One and Only God, in Arabic. Who else did you expect Noah and Moses to worship? God is insisting here that all these prophets worshipped the One and Only God. It is the only word in Arabic for God and it does not have plurals(gods). Arabic bibles use Allah for "God". Jesus may have also referred to God in Aramaic and perhaps in Hebrew, does it change the meaning of God? Absolutely not! as long as they are all referring to the same One God(without partners).

You may have just started reading about Quran, otherwise you would have known about these marvelous verses long time ago. Quran says sperm is released at the conjunction of male and female sexual areas. Do you think this is wrong? And about the shape of the Earth, do we even need to discuss that?
Allah's Apostle the true and truly inspired, narrated to us, "The creation of everyone of you starts with the process of collecting the material for his body within forty days and forty nights in the womb of his mother. Then he becomes a clot of thick blood for a similar period (40 days) and then he becomes like a piece of flesh for a similar period. This was accepted in Muhammad's days but we now know it is inaccurate.

Keith Moore's 6th edition textbook points out that the quran repeats what Galen wrote in 150 AD.

@fearworshipGod You are assuming that Mohammed(pbuh)had access to the electronic copies of all the versions of the Bible with super computers analyzing all the different sayings with a staff of 100s of people selecting the best way to present each of the verse. And that he had PHDs in all the possible subjects, yet somehow he remained an illitrate. It is easier and logical to beleive that he was a humble servant of God. The basic teaching of all the prophets was 'God your Lord is one God'.
@simplefacts100 -There are two different words for "one"-yachid (meaning one in number) and echad (meaning one in unity). When it says in Scripture that the Lord our God is one, the word echad is used, not yachid. The Hebrew word translated "God" is the word El or Elohim. Elohim is the plural form of El. The plural form is used 2607 of the 2845 times the word "God" is used in the Old Testament. The words Father, Son and Holy Spirit are found in the OT. The word "trinity" means tri-unity.
@fearworshipGod Obviously you do not want to recognize how we have seen, by analyzing just a few verses, that new versions were released changing the meaning of verses completely (Pro 30-4), and that the writer of Gospel of John inserted his own words trying to prove exactly the opposite of what Jesus was saying, and that no prophet taught about Trinity in the past. All the prophets brought the same message 'God is One'. Well, I will leave you with that...
@simplefacts100 -The Epistle of Clement to the Corinthians ( 95 A.D.) quotes verses from the Gospels, Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, Ephesians, Titus, Hebrews, and 1 Peter. This shows the Gospels and the other books had obviously been written down and were being used in the churches before that time, that document being written only 62 years after Jesus' crucifixion. There is a lot of wrong information out there by people who wish to discredit the Bible.
@fearworshipGod Do you really think someone can rewrite Bible in a such a beautiful way? The Gospels that make up the new testament today were not written by Mark, Mathew... but these Gospels are attributed to these desciples as most of them were written two to three generations after Jesus. When these are read together there is a vast amount of difference in them. For example, the words of Jesus on the cross, gives conflicting & condraticting pictures of him in different Gospels.

Here are some of the sayings of Jesus: (1)God your Lord is One God (2) I have come to confirm the law not to distroy it and (3) that a comforter will guide you into all the truth, who will not speak of his own but only what he hears. I proudly believe in these sayings of Jesus. Do you? Most Christians beleive in Trinity, which Jesus never taught and they don't abide by the law and they dont beleive in the Comforter (Mohammed).

Most Muslims are sincere and nice people but islam's theology is wrong. Just one error proves that the Quran does not come from God, who is not confused. The Quran does have mistakes-very notably it says Jesus did not die, that he was not crucified. That is a historical fact. His death was recorded by early Roman historians as well as in the Jewish Talmud.

@alonePhan -I might question it if it was only one historian or not Roman ones. They were very intolerant of mistakes especially for something as serious as their own government's records. Death was often the penalty for mistakes then so I don't think that their own historians who were not Christians would have any reason to includes lies about Jesus' death and crucifixion unless they were reporting facts.

@fearworshipGod Yes Muhammed (pbuh) said Jesus was a prophet that chosen by Allah, and we muslims accept Jesus as a prophet. The thing is, Muhammed (pbuh) is superior to all other prophets and the Quran is superior to older holy books. What is written in bible is not exactly true. The original form of bible was changed after his being raised to the heaven by Allah. Thats why those differences etc occured. Jesus even heralded that a Messenger (Muhammed pbuh) wil come.

@alonePhan -That is islam's big claim but God has always protected His Word, which we still have today. It tells us to be careful of spirits that will try to deceive us. Muhammad got the Quran from a spirit that he originally believed was a jinn. He ran from the cave in fear but his wife and her blind cousin (who were not in the cave) convinced him it was not a jinn but the angel Gabriel. I think Muhammad was right at the beginning and shouldn't have listened to his wife's advice.

In the Bible it says we are not to judge, meaning that we are not to judge people's hearts but we are told to judge people's teachings and doctrines. It is because I do not judge people's hearts that I try to point out that Jesus said he was the final messenger -that he was God's own son sent to earth to give eternal life to all who believe in him. I believe in God and His unchanging Word.

Jesus referred to God as 'Father' in general for every one as an expression of love with God. He said Thy Father, Our Father, Your Father.... so why should we call only Jesus as the son of God? Son of God is the same as servant of God in Hebrew. I think Didache clarifies this concept conclusively.

@fearworshipGod According to Exodus 4:22, Israel is the son of God, even the first born. In Psalms 2:7 David is referred to as the begotten son of God. These statements are expressed with the same affection as 'God's OWN son' that you refer to and make Israel and David even more closer to God. So is Jesus the ony son of God? Clearly not! In 'John 10:36' Jesus is clearly surprised as to why there is a blasphemy if he called himself as 'God's Son' where other prophets beofre him had that title.

@fearworshipGod I was waiting for this one(Jn17:5).This is how the writer of Gospel of John attempted to raise Jesus in divinity, very often conflicting & contradicting himself. The farther you go from the period of Jesus the more divine you wil find him. If you read Jn17:1-4, Jesus is praying to God, asking for his help, begging him and calling Him the Only True God. And you call Jesus god? If Jesus was there before the world began who was his mother then? Are we missing someone in the Trinity?

Do you see that we are not reading God's word? The man who is asking these questions is saying that he is stupid and he does not understand anything. He is asking about the men(not God) who have done these things. Sorry, there is no mention of Trinty in the OT.

@simplefacts100 -The CEV is not a version a scholar would use. It was a version introduced to simplify the Bible for people with little Bible training. The most commonly versions used are the NIV, KJV, NKJV. We have different versions just like the Quran has different versions.
The (nonChristian)Jewish translation(JPS) of the last part of Prov.30:4 is :" Who hath established all the ends of the earth? {N}What is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou knowest?"

Clearly here the man who identifies himself as 'stupid' is asking vague questions about the men and their children who have done these things, and trying to express that only God can do these things. Whichever version you take the 'Children' being referred to are of men.

@fearworshipGod The fact that you would need to decide which version you will use tells you that it is not the word of God. Quran has only one text (Arabic). If we need to refer to anything we go back to the Arabic text and interpret it. All other texts in other languages are interpretation of Quran or translation of Quran. My friend, if you accept 'God, your Lord is One God' you will not have to face these complications. I will pray to God to show you the right path. Amen.

@fearworshipGod Jn 5:18-22 clarifies further as to how the writer of the Gospel of John tried to raise the divinity of Jesus and conflicted/contradicted himself. I guess you will agree that 5:18 are the words of the writer of this Gospel, not of Jesus(and hence not from God). Jesus is clarifying in 5:19-21 that he was not equating himself to God and that he could do nothing by himself. Will you still not believe?

Even though Muhammad was illiterate, he was not stupid and knew some of the Scriptures which he had learned from the Jews and the Christians, as well as from his own family. Jesus' gospel was not rewritten by his own disciples-they died cruel deaths for their witness. Thousands were converted right after Jesus' death & resurrection by people who knew that Jesus had died.

@alonePhan -Muhammad was a trader and met many people as he travelled. His wife's cousin Waraqa was a Christian. There were of course Jews in the vicinity-Bukhari Vol. 6, Bk 60,# 12: "Narrated Abu Huraira: The people of the Scripture (Jews) used to recite the Torah in Hebrew and they used to explain it in Arabic to the Muslims."

And that none of these Greek copies are identical. If you align these copies according to the dates of writing you will see the elevation of Jesus in divinity. If any of the other 20+ Gospels had made it to the Canon you would be arguing a completely different line today. Do you have a Gospel wihtout any author(Mark,etc) attached?

The Quran today has errors in it, tho' like- sperm coming from the rib area, the earth being egg shaped, the stages of embryology, saying it confirms the previous Scriptures, says Noah & Moses called God "Allah"(which was impossible since the arab language didn't exist then and the prophets spoke Hebrew), etc.

Even if we assume that the earliest copy is from 200 years after Mohammed(pbuh), the way of distribution at that time,besides memorizing the text,was to make copies from copies. If any copy is different from the other at any point the whole line of further copies would be different, which is clearly not the case since all the copies, old manuscripts and new ones are exactly the same

The Quran says Jesus was a true prophet and taught correctly. The Quran tells Christians of Muhammad's day to "stand fast by the Law, the Gospel"-In the Gospel Jesus said he was God's own son, that he would be killed at Passover, that he would rise again on the third day, that he was the last messenger, a man is to marry only one wife...

@fearworshipGod, Allah="The God"- The One and Only God, in Arabic. Who else did you expect Noah and Moses to worship? God is insisting here that all these prophets worshipped the One and Only God. It is the only word in Arabic for God and it does not have plurals(gods). Arabic bibles use Allah for "God". Jesus may have also referred to God in Aramaic and perhaps in Hebrew, does it change the meaning of God? Absolutely not! as long as they are all referring to the same One God(without partners).

Muhammad couldn't read or write but was smart and a successful trader. The information in the Quran was already written in the Bible and it was also known in the medical field in those days. Keith Moore's 6th edition textbook points out that the quran repeats what Galen wrote in 150 AD.

The basic teaching of all the prophets was 'God your Lord is one God'.

When it says in Scripture that the Lord our God is one, the word echad is used, not yachid. The Hebrew word translated "God" is the word El or Elohim. Elohim is the plural form of El. The plural form is used 2607 of the 2845 times the word "God" is used in the Old Testament. The words Father, Son and Holy Spirit are found in the OT. The word "trinity" means tri-unity.

@simplefacts100 -The Epistle of Clement to the Corinthians ( 95 A.D.) quotes verses from the Gospels, Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, Ephesians, Titus, Hebrews, and 1 Peter. This shows the Gospels and the other books had obviously been written down and were being used in the churches before that time, that document being written only 62 years after Jesus' crucifixion. There is a lot of wrong information out there by people who wish to discredit the Bible.

The Gospels that make up the new testament today were not written by Mark, Mathew... but these Gospels are attributed to these desciples as most of them were written two to three generations after Jesus. When these are read together there is a vast amount of difference in them. For example, the words of Jesus on the cross, gives conflicting & condraticting pictures of him in different Gospels.
