What do you mean you don't think of Meatloaf as American? In 2007 it was voted #7 favorite food by Good Housekeeping. During the great depression, meatloaf was the meal of choice in the US to stretch food. It may have it's origins in Geramany, Howrver, so Does the Hamburger? Ever heard of Hamburg, Gemany? Thats where Hambugers origin is. Please don't tell June Cleaver or Aunt Bea that one doesn't think meatloaf when you say American. It's quite the Betty Croker recipe. ;-)
